Chapter 1: Bitten

Jason Snow looked at the sky as his mother drove on the long and empty highway.

The 16 year old boy wore a black and blue jacket with gray trousers his ash blonde hair spiky hair added a unique take to his fair skin, he also had bright Blue eyes making him look friendly.

"Mom are we there yet?" The boy asked tired of staring at sky from their convertible car.

His mother Elizabeth Snow, Beth for short was a middle aged woman, her beauty was unmatched and her waistline was on point, her ash blonde hair was chin length, a beauty mark under her left eye, which was Brown in contracts to her son, she wore a yellow jacket and black yoga pants, she was also an experienced driver as she only used one hand on the steering wheel.

"Don't worry sweety, New dawn city ain't far from here" Beth said in a cheeky voice.

"I want to set up my video games, kinda nervous of starting school immediately" Jason said fiddling with his fingers.

"Hey, You're a great guy, you had Friends back in West Kinia, you'll make some new ones here too, I guarantee it" Beth comforted her son.

"Thanks mom" Jason smiled, his mother was always there to cheer him up.

The Snow family weren't the richest bunch but they could get by with what they had, the two had to move from their previous home because of

A pandemic going on there.

The car finally made it towards a large silver gate showing that they've entered a new town.

The gate had a sign saying "New Dawn Town"

The town had many many notable buildings such as the town hall where the mayor stayed. An amusement park, hospital, supermarket and much more.

The convertible parked by a white house on Greenfield street.

Jason got out of the car and got a better look, this is where he'd live for the entirety of his youth (not bad) he thought to himself as Beth began to open the front door.

'crack' the metal door made a cracking sound as it opened. Inside was surprisingly clean, the furniture and other equipment were covered by white cloths to prevent dust.

"Wow... The upper states men really know how to build houses, even the kitchen is huge!" Beth said surprised by the house as a whole and immediately went to check the kitchen.

Her son on the other hand went to check his room upstairs, it was surprisingly big as well, a black bed by the upmost right side, a medium size closet, a clean bathroom with a Japanese styled toilet, and most of all A small flat screen television hung on the wall.

"I think I'm going to like my new man cave!" Jason says this and hooks up his GS4(Game station 4) to the TV and plays Guns of duty.

After dinner with Beth, who excited made the first meal in her new kitchen Meat casserole, Jason had a hard time falling asleep, was it due to the fear of school tomorrow or was it something else?

"Awwooooooooo!" A loud howling sound could be heard outside in the forest close to their house.

"Is that a dog?, I've never heard a dog howl like that before" Jason questioned, as his curiosity forced him to check his window.

The mist from outside obstructed his vision but he could still make out a few images... A man and several dogs, what was he doing there with them? However the mist quickly became more blurry and Jason went back to sleep, forgetting what he had seen by the time morning rose.

The next day.

After a quick bath and breakfast, the ash blonde boy was ready for the next frontier high school.

"Take care sweety, remember be yourself!" Beth yelled.

"Got it Mom, see yah" he said before going straight to the school.

The school was that far from his home so instead of using the bus he walked, great exercise.

New dawn highschool, it was even bigger than it was in the brochure, a large red brick building with several classrooms and various activity halls, and even a swimming pool.

Jason was going to be in the 9th grade now his class number was 9-B, he walked through the hall way, seeing other kids wearing different kinds of clothes, unlike his last school that made him wear an ugly uniform, he was to have freedom of choice.

The class was rowdy kids talking about in their cliques as Jason walked in the homeroom teacher stood up, she had a name tag on "Miss Donna"

They were 24 students now 25 with the arrival of Jason.

"Students we have a new member today, introduce yourself" Miss Donna said referring to Jason.

"Hey everyone, Jason Snow here" Jason raised his right hand up to wave.

"Snow? But it's spring" a voice from the back said "Ha ha ha ha ha ha!" The whole class exploded with laughter.

"He he he(that wasn't even funny!)" Jason said in his mind.

"Alright settle down, Jason take a seat near the window over there" Donna directed him to the seat on the second row next to the window.

Jason went there and took a seat, immediately people started whispering about him, his hair color, eye color, the normal new kid stuff, he didn't let it bother him though.

Lunch break finally came and the classroom was once again rowdy.

Jason sat alone by his deck drawing what he thinks he had seen yesterday, a man and several dogs by the moon howling.

As he did this a girl in a orange sweater with a heart embellished on it came to his seat.

She saw the drawing and said, "you just moved here didn't you, careful of the woods, we have a wolf problem" she said.

"Thanks, I'll keep that in mind" Jason said and looked at her, she had short black hair and cute glasses on, her expression was a serious one though.

"My name's May zing, Claas president, I've been observing you Jason, you're quite capable... How about becoming my vice?" She asked.

"Wait, vice president? I just got here?!" Jason said surprised.

"Look around, do you think any other yahoo here is capable of helping me with my work?" May pointed at all the other students messing around.

"True... Alright... Geez" Jason scratched his head.

"Good, keep in mind our job is very important and....." May was lecturing the poor boy until something caught his eye.

A beautiful girl, with long red hair passed by the classroom, she wore a black sweater and white skirt with black leggings and white sneakers.

Jason remembered her face from somewhere and quickly excused himself to go meet her and ask.

Through the hall Jason pushed away some people all for the chance to meet the girl.

"Hey.... Ummm are you Clara?!" He shouted at her.

"Huh" the girl turned around to see who called her, she then had a surprised look on her face however.

"Who the hell are you calling out Clara's name like that!" An angry looking guy came out from nowhere and grabbed Jason by the collar.

He was very muscular and had blonde hair and a red football jacket.

"Let him go Chris! I know him" Clara said calmly and put her slender hand on The Muscle head's own.

"Tch, if you say so, better not go calling people like that again punk" Chris said hissing at Jason as he left the scene.

"Um, thanks Clara" Jason rubbed the back of his head.

"Come with me" Clara said directing him outside of the school.

The two then began to talk where no one could see them.

"It's s good to see you again, 10 years right? Since you used to live with your mom in west Kinia, who would have guessed we'd meet here" Jason said smiling.

"10 years... It's really been that long, well enjoy your stay in New Dawn, and whatever you do, Don't go into the forest" Clara warned him.

"You're the second person to warm me about that, are the wolves really that dangerous?" Jason asked confused.

"You have no idea, just be careful okay, and another thing, try to keep your distance from me in school, things are different now" Clara said as she walked away.

"Hey! Keep my distance... 10 years really does change people" he said to himself as a strange feeling was overwhelming his heart.

Back home Jason looked somewhat depressed about his first day in school, and Beth didn't know how to help.

So at night again the howling started.

Jason still upset walked over to the window to check out what was happening and to his surprise.

"Clara?" The boy was confused what was his childhood friend doing in the forest she warned him about.

Following his curiosity once again, avoiding waking up his mother Jason heads towards into the forest.

In the forest.

The trees were very sturdy and dark brown, holding a flashlight Jason wondered into for about 10 minutes looking for Clara until.

'Crash!' a large explosion happens nearby causing a tree to fall.

Jason rushes over there to see what happened, to stops by the fallen tree and observes a fight.

Clara holding a black sword was fighting something that Jason thought only existed in fairytales and movies, a huge Black wolf with spikes on it's back, it had blood shot red eyes and yellow claws, it was also standing on its hind legs like a human.

"Ahhh!" Jason couldn't contain his fear he let out a shout.

Clara was quickly alerted of his presence and her expression turned grim "Run away! Jason!" She cried.

But it was too late.

The beast had pounced on the boy and grabbed him.

"Let me go!" He cried but the beast instead threw away the flash light.

"An acquaintance of the Shepard? How interesting, I had no intention of making more but, tormenting you is worth it!" The beast spoke in a gruesome tone frightening Jason more.

"Let him go! This is between you and me! He has nothing to do with this!" Clara shouted pointing her sword forward.

"Well he does now! 'Chomp!' the beast bites down on Jason's left hand, blood rushing from the wound.

"Gahhhhhhhhh! Haaaaaaaaa! Ahhhhh!" The boy screamed in pain, it felt like heated Knifes being stabbed into his skin, tears flowing uncontrollably from his eyes.

"Noooooo!" Clara charged the beast but it fled before her blade reached it.

"Now you'll have to kill him Shepard! Or else he'll become just like me! Ha ha ha ha ha!" The beast runs away deep into the forest as Clara tends to Jason's wound.

"It will be okay!, It will be alright stay with me!" She called out to the boy.

"Ah.... H..... U...." Words couldn't be formed Jason's mind was going blank as he faded into a deep slumber.

The wounds inflicted on him today would forever change his life.
