Jake's POV He was reluctant to let go of my fingers. He held my fingers with his little hands. He held them tight. He smiled at me whenever he fluttered his eyes. We rushed him straight to the hospital but he kept drifting in and out of consciousness. Phill drove us as fast as he could. Lea's POV "I wriggled in my bed, trying to sleep but there was this sharp pain in my abdomen and I kept twisting and turning but it was getting more and more unbearable. I tried to move my hand but felt like one hand was tied with something that cut into my skin as I tried to move my fingers. I could feel something wet between my legs and I tried to touch that spot with my free hand. It was wet and I brought that hand close to my eyes. My vision was absolutely blurry. Blood. There was blood on my hand. I tried to scream but my voice got muffled with the sound of water. I was chocking. I couldn't breathe. I wanted to scream for help but I couldn't even make a single sound. It felt like I was back in the hospital bed in labour. Labour? My baby? Kai? Where was Kai? Did I loose him? Phill's POV What unfolded before me made me both woeful and happy. I saw her head slump on his chest. I saw the worry lines fade from her forehead. Jake's POV "I can't do this, Jake. I can't leave him alone," Lea whispered, her voice trembling as we stood outside the pediatric intensive care unit. I had been trying to coax her to go back to her ward but she looked at me without those big, teary, eyes. The same eyes she had passed onto our son. Those eyes I cherished so much. Her eyes were red from crying, and she looked so fragile, so breakable."Lea, you need to rest," I said softly, my hand gently rubbing her arm. She flinched slightly but didn't pull away. The minutes passed very slow as they waited outside the PICU. Lea lunged at Phill the moment he came out . "How is he? How's Kai?" Lea's voice trembled as she gripped Phill's arm. "Can we see him,now?" She added, trying to peek past Phill into the room. Phill grabbed her shoulders and held her down, before looking up at Jake. Mercy stepped forward,noticing the grim expression on Phill's face. "Why do you look like that, Phill? What's wrong?" she asked. Phill ignored her and turned his attention back to Lea. "You can't see him right now," he said softly. "Kai's awake, but... there's a problem." Lea's face fell, panic seeping into her eyes. "What do you mean? What's going on?What happened to my, Kai? " Phill looked at her with apologetic eyes before turning to face Jake. "We ran some tests and found out that Kai's liver is in acute failure. It's because of toxic shock.We need to do a transplant as soon as possible to save him."Lea's knees buckled, and she collapsed into Jake's arm

Lea's POV " Kai... " The moment my eyes opened I threw my hands in all directions, trying to get up and look for Kai. But i didn't have to look much further. He was right across and I could see him in the other room. My baby was latched to the beeping machines with pipes and wires and what not. And right beside him was Phill.
