Chapter 717

Sharon turned over to look, but before she could say anything, Sebastian had already gotten up. He looked at Rue without blinking.

“My little cousin? Are you the cousin they’re talking about?”

Eugene leaned down to put Rue on the ground and said softly, “Sebastian is your cousin. Go ahead and play with him.”

Rue had a fear of strangers, so she was reluctant to go over. Instead, Sebastian was the one who walked up to her and held her hand, saying, “My name is Sebastian. What’s yours?”

“I… I’m Rue.”

The girl’s voice was soft and sweet; it was so very lovely. It suddenly made Sebastian protective of her.

“Then I’ll be calling you Rue, and you can call me Seb.” Sebastian had always wanted a younger sister, but Mommy told him that he was the only one she ever needed. At least now, he was finally able to be an older brother.

“Seb.” Rue was so polite, and it made Sebastian feel like he ought to do an excellent job as a big brother. He would never allow anyone to bully her!
