“A wedding? What wedding?” Sharon looked at him in bewilderment. She honestly wondered if the nerves in his brain had gone haywire.

Howard’s eyes lit up, and it was as if he had gone mad. “If you promise to get back together with me, Shar, I’ll hold a wedding with you right away. A grand wedding, or whatever wedding you have in mind, I promise to give it to you.”

“Who on earth told you that I want to marry you?” Sharon was utterly baffled. Then, she added, “Moreover, will Sally agree to you having another wedding?”

“I’ve divorced her, so there’s no need to worry about that. You can become my bride with complete peace of mind.”

Sharon was surprised that he had divorced Sally! Were his actions not a little too rash?
