I looked in the long floor length mirror as my eyes wandered over my curled hair with a white and blue flower that pinned back the left side of my hair. My long white gown fell around my feet, it wasn’t too long, just long enough to flow behind me when I walked. My makeup was natural nudes with a brown lipstick. The blue stone necklace hung just above my cleavage and my hand gripped around my bouquet of white and blue flowers. I liked the overall look. It wasn’t too glam or too much, it was classy and tasteful.

Layton knew from the moment we began arranging our big day I didn’t want anything too elaborate. But there would still be a lot of people there today as he was the Alpha and in a couple of hours, I’d be the Luna.

My hand shook and my legs felt like lead as my mum fussed with the bottom of my dress. Doesn’t she know her straightening it out right now is pointless!

My dad came to my side and looked in the mirror at me ”You look stunning, absolutely perfect” he complimented, lo

After a month of being a Luna, I had started to grow more accepting of my new duties and expectations. I had started to speak up in the meetings I attended with Layton, and I had even held a few meetings of my own to discuss new weaponry we would soon train with, and the extension needed for the packhouse. Layton supported me in every meeting and encouraged me to continue having a strong role in the pack. So far, everyone had shown respect toward me and listened to my ideas and opinions without disregard or rejection. I wasn’t sure if it was out of real respect for me or out of fear of what Layton would do to them, if they dared to upset me in any way. In the month I had been here, he had quickly made it known to any male that entered a room with me in it that I was not to be trifled with or disrespected in any way. Only two weeks ago, a man interrupted me during a meeting as I tried to suggest an idea to help with any newcomers into our pack. He spoke over me as if my voice didn’t

Layton zipped up my dark blue gown and I finished pinning some of my hair back as the rest fell into curls over my shoulders. I stared in the mirror, but I wasn’t really looking at myself, my thoughts were far away, and I faded into a daydream contemplating the day ahead. Today was Zara’s hearing. I had no idea what decision had been made. In fact, I knew as much as Zara did, that anything could be said or done today. But I knew her wishes were to be able to go as quickly and easy as possible and that is all I could hope would happen. Of course, I felt a little foolish for feeling so sorry for her, but I’ll be damned if I don’t show any compassion to someone that has shown such remorse and regret and today, more than ever, it was eating away at me. I barely ate at breakfast and it was hard to take my eyes off of Layton, who seemed to eat so casually and calm, as if today were the same as any other day… did it not bother him that he was about to dish out a death or permanent prison s

I waited until the following morning to visit Zara. She was practically giddy as she showed me around her one bedroom apartment in her black jeans that were slightly baggy and a grey jumper that hid her tiny frame, but the excitement in her voice was evident that she was already enjoying her newfound freedom. “Oh, it’s so cosy, don’t you think Luna?” “It’s lovely, it’s all fresh and new and I’m sure over time you’ll add your own taste to it”. She nodded as she sighed happily, sitting down on the plush cream couch. “It’s so strange being here. I didn’t sleep at all last night. I feared I’d wake up and it would all just be a dream and I’d be back in my cell. I can’t believe I’m really here, that this is all happening and it’s all thanks to you”, she looked at me with grateful watery eyes. I smiled as I sat on the armchair opposite her and took a cup of fresh tea she had made for us. “It’ll be strange for you for some time I expect, just take it one day at a time” I looked down at my

Two years later: “Zachary hold still” I asked frustratingly as I tried to put his sunhat on, his chubby little hands and feet were covered in sand as he giggled and squeaked at Zara while she trickled more dry soft sand onto his toes. She laughed as she watched his little face become so engrossed at the falling sand that tickled his feet. “He is such a happy little baby” she admired as she continued to play with the sand. “I know” I smiled as I supported his back and kissed his little cheek “Can you believe he’s eight months already. He’s going to be a little adventurer, I just know it”. Zara’s eyes widened in amusement. “Well, of course he will be if he’s anything like his mum… he’s going to be one fine warrior, that’s for sure.” She breathed in a deep breath as she looked out to the sea “It’s so beautiful, isn’t it, I could never get bored of this view, it’s just breath taking”. I grinned and tapped her arm as I scooped up Zachary ”Come, let’s go for a little paddle in the water

There’s a brisk chill in the air as winter is drawing to a close, me and twelve other young women and men sit around the training area looking at all the fighting equipment there was an array of training mats, boxing gloves and wooden swords of all sizes. At the age of eighteen you were allowed to train to be a pack warrior and today is our first day of training for The Blue moon pack. Our pack was widely known to be strong both in number and strength and that was because we had opportunities like this... to train with the best and those who pass all of the tests in six months will become an official warrior that patrols and guards our pack village and city which is surrounded by the forest boarders, the deep forest is widely known for its unmerciful rogues that like to attempt to capture and kill pack wolves. If we pass, we also have the chance to take on extensive training and move up to be Palace guards, which is an honorable and very respected position, they guard the Alpha and

I was just finishing up my shift at the gallery, willing for Sarah, the other girl that worked here, one of the girls I alternated shifts with to hurry up and takeover so I could go home and get changed for rugby. I loved our rugby games, so many people got involved, once word spread of a game people always attended and joined in. We’d end up with several separate games happening on the field. Me and Dakota always took part, even though we were quite short and slender, we knew how to push hard and run fast, and we had good stamina. The atmosphere was always amazing, people cheering everyone laughing weather they won or lost everyone was just here to have fun and socialize with the community and by the end of it we’d always have Marco, a forty year old pack warrior who also owned several meat stores, would always come to the games with his huge BBQ and cooked burgers, sausages and chicken, all free just because it would bring us all together. Marco was very jolly, very tall and big bu

It had been several days since I asked Layton about the girl, he liked...we’d kept in touch with drabs of messages here and there but from what he and Sam had said, Layton had been pressed this week helping his dad with more duties and spending his left over time keeping up with his training. Although he wasn’t classed as a warrior, he still had to partake in training regularly with the other warriors as he was the future Alpha his dad still did regular training even as he got older, even the Luna practiced martial arts and knew how to use a sword, she would tell me all about it during the dinners we used to have at their Palace...That’s my kinda Luna. She was so classy and always carried herself with elegance and grace, but she also had a ‘no nonsense’ side to her, she told me she loved knowing that she could protect herself if the time called for her to. It was the weekend and after three sessions of hard training and doing extra shifts at the gallery to cover for another employee

It had been three weeks since we'd all been at the lake, me and Layton had been texting regularly, he told me he did want to talk to me about something that has apparently been on his mind for a while now but that he wanted to be able to chat properly because it always made him feel a lot better whenever he spoke to me face to face. I had to get up early this morning to get to warrior training this was my fifth week and I loved it, every session made me feel stronger and like I was really accomplishing something great! I walked over to the training mats where some of the group had already arrived. Gabel came over and asked to speak to me, pulling me to the side he patted me on the shoulder. "Lelanna I just wanted to quickly take a moment to let you know how delighted I am at your progress" "Oh wow, really" I said looking up at him wide eyed with surprise "Well yes of course, you are very skilled Lelanna, your fast on your feet, you have great stamina and you’re a fast learner. It has been four weeks since Layton had proposed and, of course, all our family and friends were delighted when we had told them of our news and three weeks ago when it was time for Layton to make the announcement to the rest of the Blue Moon pack everyone from the village and the city had gathered outside the Palace in anticipation to hear who Layton had finally chosen as his Luna. He stepped out onto the balcony that overlooked all of his people as they clapped and cheered for him. He looked back to me and held out his hand for me to join him. As soon as they saw me, their cheers became louder as they whistled and shouted in approval. It was nerve-racking at first, but when I looked down and saw how happy they all were for us, having their love and support made me feel less anxious about the future of being a Luna. xxxxxxx I smiled as I looked down at my ring. My hand rested on my navy blue long gown as I sat in the car with Layton beside me and Mila and Nicholas in the seats beh

  • Warriors of Blue moon   Chapter 18 - Love and unlikely friends.

I walked through the quiet village on my way to the field, it was eight at night and Layton had just finished work. The moon shone brightly, and the crisp cool air whipped through me as I hugged my coat tighter to my skin. Hardly anyone was out now as they enjoyed the warmth and comfort of their homes but the bounce I had in my step as I was on my way to meet Layton for our supper… No cold or rain could deter me or my excitement to see him. We kept spending every spare moment we could together, and our evenings had become this… supper somewhere just me and him, alone, away from any distractions. Then we’d head to the Palace, or my home and we’d fall asleep and wake up next to each other and I couldn’t imagine any other better way to start my day. Honestly, if anyone had told me a year ago, I would feel so much happiness being back here and with Layton I’d laugh in their face and give them a long list of why they were so wrong, but here I am… smitten and so head over heels! Even thou

  • Warriors of Blue moon   Chapter 17 - Consequences and Celebrations.

One Month Later. I woke up grinning from ear to ear, although I was missing the warm body that I had started to get used to waking up to. I had been spending most nights sleeping at Layton’s but last night he still had a lot to get done, now Tina’s sentencing was being dealt with. So I decided to stay at home, and waking up to his morning message telling me he missed me and loved me had me practically skipping to the shower even though I was slightly dreading the situation I was about to drag myself into. I had seen Zara a lot more over the last few weeks. I had stayed on to assist nurses with sedating Tina and I’d never leave without checking in on Zara and the more I saw her, the more vacant she started to look. No matter what we talked about, there never seemed to be any reaction or emotion from her and I’d always leave feeling glum. I put on my armour and made my way to the cells and, as always, one of the guards assisted me. As I approached the cells, Zara was sat on the cold

Two days later, Layton had messaged me as soon as he was back at the Palace. While he was away, he had messaged me over and over telling me how much he missed me. So, to surprise him, I got dressed in a short black ruffle skirt and white silk blouse that clung to my skin, rushed down to the kitchen to make us some fresh sandwiches and coffee. I tapped on his office doors as I opened them and this time, to my relief, I wasn’t greeted by that woman on his desk. “heyyy” I called as I walked in and when his eyes landed on me, his mouth fell open and his eyes popped “wow” he whistled as I put our food down on his coffee table and waltz over to his desk. I sat and perched on the edge of it with him now standing in front of me “Damn I missed you” he growled as he grabbed my legs, pulling them to his sides and pressed his body against mine with his lips crashing down on mine. I automatically parted my lips for his tongue as he invaded my mouth in a deep and hungry kiss. Our bodies were mo
