Carolina’s POV - Reunion

To say that I am pissed and annoyed at how everything went down is putting it mildly. I am even more annoyed that I had to confront my father with my failures.

My father, Donovan Clark, was the previous Delta before my brother, Bryant, took over. And well, knowing my father, I will probably be labeled incompetent now.

It’s a relatively short trip back to Highplains Pack from Dark Claw Mountain, which doesn’t give me much time to devise a valid excuse for my failure.

I know Father will be upset at me, and I fear what he may say or do.

How would I have known that Ryker would meet his fated mate at The Mate Ball? Even after the history we have with those events.

It was back with my father as Delta, Alpha Adeline, Ryker’s mother, was on her way there with the Alpha Consort Mathew. And they were assassinated. At least, that’s the story. My father was in charge of the investigation. I was still young, so I don’t remember much, just a few glimpses of Ryker
