Amelia's pov.

Upon encountering an unexpected reaction from Susan, I found myself perplexed and somewhat taken aback. My countenance likely betrayed my confusion as I struggled to comprehend the intensity of her words and actions. With a concerned expression etched upon my face, I fixed my gaze on Susan attempting to process the sequence of events that were unfolding right in front of me.

Susan, sensing my discomfort, confirmed her earlier statement, emphasizing the perceived lack of communication and mutual respect in our interactions. Her voice grew louder and more passionate, prompting a noticeable increase in the atmospheric tension.

As I endured this unanticipated confrontation, I couldn't help but feel a sense of shock and wonder at the escalating situation.

I turned my face In a confused state. Did all that blasphemy just come from Susan?What did I ever do to Susan?I stared at her with a worried look plastered on my face trying to wrap my head around the whole situation.

"Yes you!" She affirmed.

"You never seem to speak when you're spoken to and you never seen to let others speak either"

"Why do you feel the world revolves around your sorry ass!",she said, staring at me, her eyes almost popping right out of their sockets.

The atmosphere became so tense I could feel sweat pouring down my face. I was so bewildered by what just happened.I never saw this backlash coming and never believed Susan will be a part of any of it.

At that moment everything felt so unreal,it reminded me of that very day I was betrayed by my sister. She made it clear to me that we were nothing but roommates all our lives after she snogged my mate right in front of me.

Betrayal was no new thing to me but I won't let my emotions get the best of me because I know that that's all Lucy wants with this argument

I was still thinking but my body failed my thoughts as I staggered and fell to my sit.I wouldn't give them that chance to step on me or take my silence for weakness.

Just as I was about to retaliate to their scorns I felt a hand touch me softly it was Lana her eyes looked so pitiful and she tilted her head back back and forth urging me not to.

Susan and Lucy left the courtyard and I could hear them giggle on their way out.

I immediately threw Lana's palms from mine "why did you stop me?" I said and faced Lana who looked around at the other brides seated there.

I was confused."I guess that's it for today ladies" lady Rosa said and made her way out of the courtyard and soon after the other brides followed suit and I repeated my questions to Lana.

"Why did you stop me from giving them a piece of my mind Lana?".

"Oh you can give them a piece of your mind alright but definitely not this way,they just wanted to get to your skin and your retaliation gave them fulfillment,don't you see?" She asked and I was standing there left in thoughts.

"It's very evident from their actions that they enjoy breaking you apart,you shouldn't let them get fulfillment from your torture" she said to me.

Her words were calm and gentle and hit my soul.I sat on my chair and pressed my weight onto it and let out a worried sigh.

"There is something you must know," Lana said, adjusting her gaze from where I sat in a nervous state.

The curiosity in me was heightened "what is that?" I asked moving my seat closer to hers to hear what she had to say.

"I went to grab a jar of water from the kitchen last night when I stumbled upon Susan and Lily on my way, unknown to Susan the door to her room was wide open,I buried my ears on the wall close to Susan's door and I heard lily going on and on about their big plan to get you on alpha Damien's bad side.

"I couldn't hear much as my foot hit the stool that carried the glass vase and it tumbled over rolling right in front of Susan's door,I immediately ran back to my room" she said to me looking concerned.

"There is nothing to fret about,Alpha Damien adores me,they are just jealous, it doesn't matter what they plan anyways as I now have Alpha Damien",I said to her.

I turned to her and held her hands in mine "Thank you for having my back Lana,You are a true friend and I would never forget this favor".

"We also have your back!" I heard from behind me,I immediately turned and to my greatest surprise it was the other three brides of alpha Damien.They walked up to me and Lana and we all embraced in one tight hug.

I have never felt this love and a sense of protection in a long time.I opened my eyes during the intense hug session and saw lady Rosa standing at the far end of the courtyard with her thumb lifted slightly above her head,I smiled back at her.

I left for my room,a warm feeling spread through my chest as I thought about the amazing people I had in my life.

"Everyone can't like you ,you can't please everyone but if people supporting you and standing by you are more than your haters then you're definitely at the right place",the sudden words of alpha rowen made its way through my mind.

I laid on my bed with a feeling of warmth and satisfaction growing in each of my nerves on the event that happened today. "It is always calm to not walk through pain alone. It is definitely reassuring, no one deserves to walk through life alone".knowing Lana and the other brides don't condemn me made my day more colorful than it already was.
