She had moved out of the way to avoid blocking others who were coming into the building. The security guard didn't stop until he was two feet away from her.  A little bit into her personal space, she subconsciously took a step back.

"Your tag please?" He said matter-of-factly.

"What?" She asked, not understanding what he had just asked for.

"Ma'am, I am going to assume there is nothing wrong with your hearing but you saying 'what' at everything I say is becoming quite annoying."

Andrea's brows dipped and she squinted her eyes. She could feel her anger rising. Aside from the fact that she already went through a lot this morning, now she has to face a rude guard.

She didn't remember seeing anyone with a tag and Lucian— she wondered if she could call him that —didn't mention anything about a tag. "I have no idea what you're talking about." She said, not hiding her displeasure. His lips curled up into a smile and Andrea felt her anger bubble over and spill.

He was at least a full foot taller than her five-three and he seemed to be enjoying the fact that he towered over her. He shoved his hands into his pockets and if it wasn't that she was pissed she would have taken the time to admire his bulky chest.

All of a sudden he broke into a laugh. "I am sorry, I'm just messing with you. I couldn't help it."

Andrea's frown worsened. She didn't see how this was funny. Aside from the fact that he was deliberately delaying her, she had to deal with his shenanigans. "It's safe to assume you're Andrea Simone right?" He said, taking off his shades.

Andrea suddenly felt her anger suppressed, maybe because he knew her name or his big brown eyes. "Yeah, what's this about?" She asked less angry but still annoyed.

"I'm Dalton." He said with a smile.

"Dalton," she repeated.

"Yeah," he replied, nodding for emphasis. "Sorry about that, I hope I didn't piss you off."

"Slightly," she answered. She couldn't help but smile now. The email had included that she meet with Dalton. She had been surprised there was no last name. Her thought was to meet the receptionist and ask for Dalton as the email had said, she didn't think he would be the one to find her.

"I am sorry if I frightened you." He apologized.

"Well, it was more annoyance than fright."

He laughed and Andrea thought he sounded charming. "Come with me," he muttered and Andrea followed after him.

They got into the elevator, along with other people, people kept getting off but they didn't. Finally, when it was just the two of them left, they got off on the top floor.

"There isn't too much I need to tell you," Dalton was saying. Andrea was behind and found that her eyes kept straying to his broad shoulders. "Basically my job is to get you in here."

The elevator led to an open space and not far from the door was a counter. On was a computer and other accessories decorating the table. For some reason, Andrea knew she was going to spend a while behind the counter.

"That's where you're stationed." He pointed to the counter.

"I figured," she muttered and walked towards it. "What's that?" She asked, referring to the door not far off her counter.

"That's his office," Dalton answered immediately.

"When will he be back?" She asked and almost pinched herself as the words left her lips but it was already too late.

"I don't know but if you need anything just call downstairs and I'll be here as fast as lightning." He muttered, flashing a smile and Andrea smiled back.

"Thank you," she said.

"My pleasure," he did a mock bow and left.

As soon as Dalton left, Andrea first thought was to check the office but not surprisingly as she turned the knob she found it was locked. She took a seat and put on the computer, not knowing exactly what she needed to do, she began to review the documents she found on the system.

Lunch break soon came and she was unaware of it, Dalton was the one who broke her concentration. "What are you doing here?" She asked playfully as she saw him stepping out of the elevator.

"Well, it's break time and I figured I should come to say hi. Want to go out for lunch? There is a cafeteria downstairs."

"It's lunch already?" She asked, surprised.

Dalton simply nodded, "I guess it was a good idea that I came up here." He winked.

Andrea quickly finished the documents she was working on and followed Dalton downstairs, as she walked beside him she wondered what kind of security guard he was, she didn't think they got as much free reins as he obviously did but she didn't let that bother her too much.

Lunch was brief and she merely ordered a little snack before rushing upstairs again but not before thanking Dalton. He seemed ready to follow her back up but she had declined, saying she didn't want to bother him.

Her first day at work soon ended and it was surprisingly faster than she thought. She didn't have to do much and spent most of her time going through old documents so it wouldn't look like she was slacking off.

There were no calls and she thought that to be very unusual. Tuesday however was completely different and the lines kept ringing. All of them wanted to see Lucian Lyc.

She told most of them he was too busy that they would have to call sometime next week to book an appointment, others whose names seemed familiar she picked a time for a meeting in accordance with the schedule Lucian already prepared for himself.

She couldn't help but notice the schedule started from the next week, she wondered if that would be when he would arrive. Tuesday left her drained and annoyed and she was happy when the day finally came to an end.
