97. ...sense of unease.

Dario’s POV

I navigated down the plain road covered by towering trees. My mind was preoccupied as I thought about Isla. I was hoping this lead would end up linking to her. I didn’t want it to end up being another dead end.

As those thoughts crossed my mind,I was shocked that Kai didn’t try to lecture me on what is right nor did he try to attack me. He was awfully quiet and it was a good thing.

I turned my head to look at Jonas, who had been glued to his screen for a while now. He must have noticed that I was staring because he raised up his head to look at me.

“Any news?” I said once our eyes met.

“Just the usual.” He replied. “No response.”

I tore my eyes away from him, placing it on the road ahead of me. I reminded my self to stay calm, and have a bit of hope.

The minute the car passed, the sign board announcing our arrival into the city. The towering trees that surrounded us, was replaced with buildings merged at each corner.
