Isla’s POV

It was either I was very good at avoiding Dario, or he was just very good at avoiding me, too. I have somehow been able to avoid seeing him all through the week, and I was hoping the weekend wouldn’t ruin that.

Anyways, School has been good. Well, with Silvan by my side. It made it even better we were an unstable duo, and I was warming up to him, too.

I pulled the duvet from my body, feeding my legs into the flip-flops. I went to the bathroom and showered quickly. Pulling a pretty dress over my body afterwards.

I didn’t have any plan today other than doing my homework, sitting in my room all day, and also avoiding Dario as much as I could.

Then I heard my phone’s ringtone blaring into the air. I rushed towards the direction of my phone, and my eyes beamed when I saw it was Silvan. Yes, we exchanged numbers.

“Hey, Silvan!” I said into the phone as I picked it up. “What’s up?”

“Nothing apart from the fact that I am having a terrible morning.”

“That sounds really bad, but I w

Dario’s POV “I will see you later today, General,” I said in a bold tone. “Then we can discuss the next step.” The general bowed his head, walking away. I was all alone now, and my eyes moved around the study. I have spent most of my time here during the weekday. Going through the investigations. If I was not in the study, I was out in the woods with the general and the rest of the men. I needed a break. So I headed to the living room after days of doing a lot of investigations on the vicious canines with my men. For the first time, I felt the urge to relax, even if it was for a few minutes. As I stepped into the living room, my eyes grew in disbelief as they collided with Isla wrapped in the hands of the boy I saw her with the other day. I didn’t understand the feeling flowing through my heart. All I knew was that I wanted to ride that man apart into several pieces. I walked close to where they were sitting, my anger increasing. “Get up, young man!” I yelled, dragging him by

Isla’s POV “Fill me in.”As I waited for Dario to speak, my mind drifted off. I couldn’t help but feel like apart from the investigation. Dario had other reasons for sending Silvan away.It was hard to detect what his reasons were since Dario was the guy who knew how to keep up a close-up persona. It was quite hard to figure out anything about him.I knew not to rack my brain too much when it came to him, but sometimes I couldn’t help myself.I groaned inwardly as my thoughts shifted towards the moment that almost happened.I couldn’t shake the feeling off, but I felt like this incident was similar to the one that had happened before. I felt this strong connection towards Dario, and it seemed that he had felt it, too. That look in his eyes had said it all. I didn’t know if I was hallucinating or something, but for a split second, I could swear I had seen desire in Dario’s eyes. I pushed those thoughts away immediately after I heard Dario speak. “Vicious Canines have a cult headquar

Isla’s POVI had spent like an hour staring at the card Dario handed me. I had reread the details a gazillion times, ransacking my brain on what I would wear and where I would get a nice ball dress. I didn’t really know many places around here.I stood up from the bench which I was sitting on in the garden, squeezing the envelope in my hands. The sun was setting, and I was getting tired of sitting on the bench.I was about to head to my room when I was stopped by one of the guards.“Miss, someone is here to see you.”“Someone?” I didn’t think Silvan would visit again, or maybe he had forgotten something. That was the only logical explanation. “Does the someone have a name?” I asked in order to stop my brain from drowning in curiosity.“She says she’s your cousin miss.”“Cousin?” I asked, shocked. I didn’t know much about my family, but I remember I had seen some kids that were close to my age range among my mom’s family.I didn’t like my mom’s family. They had shown me that they didn

Isla’s pov The day of the ball arrived, and I decided to go with Silvan. Silvan planned to pick me up by six. Trust me when I say I wasn’t ready; it was almost six.I dashed out of the bathroom and quickly drew my peach gown over my body. It was good that I had rolled my hair a day before. All I had to do was to get the curls out.Immediately, I was done with that, I heard my phone ring. I corked my head forward, and my eyes landed on Silvan’s name. I hurried up, removing the rollers from my hair, and then dashed out of my room. When I got out of the house, I noticed that Silvan was perched outside his car.“Wow! You look gorgeous.” He commented the moment he set his eyes on me.“Stop with the bluffing!”“I’m not kidding my lady.” He said, stretching his hands and leading me to the car. He opened the door for me before heading to his seat.I realised there was someone in the back seat of the car. She looked exactly like Silvan; the only difference was her hair colour.“Isla meets my

Dario’s POV My eyes collided with the face of the young man, which I had wrapped in my hands. He was quivering on his own; sweat beads had formed on his forehead. I was glad that I was able to put that fear in his. Maybe this would make him stay away from Isla for good. My grip on him tightened, and I glared at him, watching as he turned pale from fear. “What are you doing?” A familiar voice rang out in my head, and I froze. My anger dropped, and the realisation of what I had done kicked me in the gut. I groaned inwardly. My eyes slowly scanned the hall, taking in the shocked gazes directed at us.The feeling of eyes on me and the mumbles that filled the hall made me let go of the boy’s shirt, dropping him to the ground. I walked out of the hall, a little annoyed at my loss of control. Why did I have to lose control in that manner? It was out of line for me, but sadly, it was too late to go back on my actions. What had been done had been done. I kept on walking until I ended up

Isla’s POVI was walking down a lonely path surrounded by lush trees. Above me, the skies had grown dark, and all that could be seen were the stars spread across the sky.The rays from the moon were my only guide through the dark path, and as I walked, it seemed as though I was urged by something which made me continue walking. When I got closer to a turning, I hesitated for a second before picking up my steps. The minute I took that turn, my eyes landed on a spot that was quite different from the rest. There weren’t any trees in sight anymore, and the centre of the ground had a white glow radiating from it.At first, I stood, staring at the centre of where the whitish glow shore from. Then, something within me caused me to move closer. So I picked up my steps until I reached the centre. The white rays flashed through my eyes like a force pulling me towards it. I bent down to touch it slightly. Suddenly, my eyes began to shine, and my body vibrated uncontrollably. I felt a surge of en

Isla’s POVI didn’t believe in Brenda’s so-called girl’s night but the morning of the full moon. I had soaked myself in the bath with my all-time favourite lavender wash.I spent long hours in the bathroom, pampering myself and washing my hair. I decided to change my dress. Instead of wearing my usual gown filled with ruffles, I settled for a short mini-skirt, which I paired with a crop top. I packed my hair in a loose bun.I felt chic. With my bag swung over my shoulders, I headed downstairs for breakfast. As usual, Dario wasn’t there, and so was Brenda. I was happy about that and wasn’t in the mood for any chit-chat this morning.I didn’t really eat. I just grabbed the sandwiches and headed to the car. I was glad today was half a day, so I didn’t have to spend many hours sitting in a boring class. When I arrived at school, the first person I came across was Silvan. He was driving into the school parking lot. I waited for him to park his car, and the minute he got down, his eyes we

Isla’s POVThe drive to the park centre was oddly quiet. I placed my head out the window, looking at the lush trees, trying to distract my mind. But instead, I was reminded of my dream some days ago. Unable to make sense of it, I forced myself to stop thinking about it. Silvan kept looking at me from time to time, and I wondered what was going through his mind. Was it guilt, anger, or hate?I didn’t want to make any assumptions, but I guessed it would be the first one. The minute we got to the park. I stepped out of the car without hesitation. I didn’t wait for Silvan to open the door like he normally did. “I’m so sorry for making that move of you.” Silvan apologised again, walking behind me. “It’s the full moon and-““Silvan, you have explained this before!” I said, tilting my head to look at him. “I just wanted you to know-““Silvan, it’s fine.” I stopped him before he could say more words. “You don’t need to try to explain further. I understand everything perfectly.”“You sure?

Five years later. I woke up to the sound of my children's excited voices, their laughter cascading through the air like a warm, familiar embrace. Pulling my eyes open, I gradually focused on my daughter. She was standing really close to me, with her hands crossed behind her back "Mommy, come downstairs! Quick!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. Her hands, which were crossed behind her back, moved forward to touch mine. "Mommy, come on! Quick!" she exclaimed, with a higher pitched tone. I tried to understand my daughter’s sudden need for me to go downstairs. I glanced at the clock on my bedside, and I realized it was just eight in the morning. It was quite early. Very early. I sighed, turning to look at Selene who seemed to have given up. When she saw I wasn’t budging she let go of my hands and headed out of the room. Then she returned few seconds later, with a pretty determined face. “Mom, this is really important.” Not long after she said those words ,

Isla’s POVThe night was quiet. The only sound breaking the stillness of the air was the soft rustle of leaves outside our window. I lay in bed after I had managed to put my daughter to bed, dozing off. Suddenly, a cry pierced the silence, a sound that jolted me awake. My eyes flew open, my heart pounding, and without hesitation, I swung my legs over the side of the bed, my bare feet meeting the cool wooden floor as I rushed towards the nursery. Dario, who had heard the sound of our daughter’s cry, rolled out of bed. He walked behind me, his steps slower than mine.I pushed open the nursery door when I got there. Dario and I had put the nursery in order some days ago. Actually, Dario had done all the work; I just stood there watching him since he wouldn’t let me help.Gliding past the entrance, I felt a surge of warmth fills me at each step. I moved to the crib, which was adorned with soft blankets and stuffed animals. Then I reached for my baby, cradling her gently in my arms."Hush

Dario, had just proposed to me.It all felt surreal like none of it was true and I was leaving in the walls of my imagination, but as I glanced at the sparking gem in my hands. I knew that, this was far from being surreal. It was real and I was going to get married to the man of my dreams. If someone had told me some months back that I would end up with Dario. I would never have believed that person, but here I was today, leaving my dreams.Dario pulled his hands away from me, he placed a soft kiss on my ringed finger, then he moved his hands to my face.“My Luna!” He said softly. I blushed not hiding the fact that I was filled with joy. During that moment, the thought of spilling everything that happened to my parents crossed my mind. I wanted my padre to know that everything turned out fine."Dario,” I called out to him. “I want to tell my parents about us," I said.Dario smiled warmly, his eye

Dario’s POVI walked into the mansion with Isla by my side. Finally, the battle was over.I stared at her as those thoughts settled in my mind. The victorious look in her eyes was not so different from mine. She must have noticed that I was staring at her because she looked my way, and I noticed as tears began to full from her eyes.“We did it!” She said with her lips curved up. “We finally did it!”“You did it!” I said moving close to her. I wrapped my hands around her body, planting a kiss on her forehead. The joy in my heart couldn’t be contained, and right now the only thought on my mind was finally seeing my child—my daughter. My hands which were on Isla uncurled and my eyes swerved in the opposite direction staring at Jonas.“Inform the men to take care of the bodies and clean everywhere up.” Jonas nodded at my reply, after that was said I turned to look at Isla.“Let’s go see our child.” Together, we made our way up the stairs, crossing the bodies that were at the staircase.

Isla’s POV The battle unfolded before my eyes, as I ran upstairs. I watched as more of the attackers stepped into the mansion walls with their weapons in their hands. It seemed that Dario had called upon on his men from the human base because I noticed that among those attackers were men far more armed and ready to take down whoever dared to stand in their way.As I ascended up the stairs the sounds of body dropping to the ground filled my ears. A sign the men were already taking action.“Do you think it’s going to work?” Nima’s voice spilled into my mind as I continued to walk.“What is?” I questioned, trying to grasp what she was trying to say.“The plan you have to weaken the cursed blood.”“I know it will. The fact that this idea crawled into my mind means it will work and if it doesn’t we would find another way.”Nima didn’t say any words after and I focused on the hallway ahead of me. I arrived in front of the room where my grandmother was staying with Diane and my baby. I tr

During that moment I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. The feeling was so strong and I knew what it meant.“I think the baby is coming.” I said.“Isla, are you sure?” Diane asked.“Yes.” I screamed. “It is time.”My eyes which was once on Diane landed on my grandma who looked shocked. With a raised tone she spoke up, running towards the hallway to get a hold of the guards.“We need to get to the hospital now!” I could hear my grandmother say. “We can’t waste anytime.”Diane moved close to me she help

Dario’s POV (2 months later)Time flew by very quickly, and the arrival of my daughter was closer than I expected it to be. The joy of becoming fatherhood filled my heart , but underneath that joy was fear. I couldn’t shake off the thoughts that I might mess things up or something would go wrong somewhere. No matter how many times I tried to convince myself internally that handling things after the child was born would be an easy task those treacherous thoughts would return.Kai on the other hand felt otherwise and I wasn’t surprised. The joy in his heart was one he wasted no time to spread for instance this morning.I had gotten up much earlier than usual. The sky was still dark, and from the looks of it. It would take a while before the sun would arrive.I made up my mind to jog, well that wasn’t my first choice. After, I couldn’t fall asleep and the fear about being a terrible father had taken over my mind. Kai ever so considerate had suggested that I head out for a run.“Running

Silvan’s POV Months had passed since I had set my eyes on Isla. My mind wasn’t at rest. I wanted to see how things were going with her and how she was doing even if it was just getting a glimpse of her.I made up my mind the following week to do so. With my men going to the pack for an attack, Dario would be out of the house making things so much easier. At the arrival of the following week, I set out to the pack . I had taken a narrow route, instead of the main path so I wouldn’t be seen. I bursted out at a trail which stretched out into the forest that was pretty close to Dario’s mansion.I parked my car there, and continued on foot. It was pretty difficult navigating through the path on foot but I managed to find my way. The top of the mansion looked at me as I reached the end of the forest. I inched closer until I arrived at the main road. I made my way down the road that pointed to the mansion entrance and when I got there, I realised only two guards were stationed outside.A

Isla’s POVI watched as Dario got into the car. My mind was a bit unstable but I didn’t dwell on it. If Dario could handle the first attack then I was sure he could handle whatever was thrown his way this time.I walked into the house, Grandma was waiting in the sitting room with Diane. The minute I stepped into the sitting room they turned my way.“Are you fine Isla?” Diane was the first to speak up and I smiled her way. “I’m okay, a bit scared but fine.” I took my seat close to her and she shot me a calm look. “I know he’ll be able to handle whatever comes his way.” I added.“Of course.” My grandmother joined in the conversation. “The only thing I’m concerned about is why this people keep coming back.”“I wonder the same thing too.” Diane said. “It’s strange.”“I feel like they’re here for something and they are yet to get it.” I said casually.
