Chapter 6 Yinzhu Met Yue

In the middle of the night, almost everyone had fallen asleep. However, candles were still lit in the main bedroom of Jicong Mansion. Beside the table in the room, a man who came back not long ago was sitting there. His eyes were elegant and calm. It seemed that this man was indifferent to everything. He was Senior General, Yun Zhi.

A middle-aged man was standing on his left. He looked strong and tall, and he was a thoughtful man. This man was the leader of the rebels, Li Yi, the former Senior General of the Kingdom of Xuan. Everyone thought he was dead. No one knew that Yun Zhi just fooled his soldiers and made Li Yi the butler of Jicong Mansion. Moreover, none of the rebels were killed. Li Yi brought them into Jicong Mansion in secret. These people mingled in King Yun’s men and lived in some special places of the mansion. This general mansion was neither too big nor too small, but so many people were hidden in it. A plot was developing.

A woman on the right of Yun Zhi was called Yue. She was the only woman in the room. She was dressed in black and wore a black veil. This woman looked burlier than normal women. People could only see her sharp and mature eyes with temperament different from her young age. She simply looked at the two men talking, without uttering a word. Yue was here to accept new arrangements.

"Ayue, you are going to be an ordinary servant girl of Princess Xi tomorrow. Your job is to protect her."

Yun Zhi said these words to Yue. However, Li Yi spoke before Yue answered him.

"No, prince. Ayue was the confidential guard the King assigned to you."

"Li Yi, I have made up my mind. No more words are needed." Yun Zhi had this idea when he saw Yun Xi alone in Xiyan Palace that day. Yue was the only woman among his confidential guards. Yun Zhi would be at ease only when his men could protect her. Yun Zhi was a powerful man but he still could not let go of his hatred. She was a poor orphan girl who had to live in her enemy's palace. What he could do for her was nothing. "Yue, take off the veil. From tomorrow on, you are not a confidential guard, but her palace maid. Keep her safe. From now on, you will only obey her order.”

"Yes," Yue uttered a simple word. It's difficult to know whether she was a man or woman from her indifferent voice. The face under the veil was delicate. Yue answered and then disappeared. No one noticed the sarcasm in her sharp eyes which soon disappeared.

"Princess Xi, I am your new palace maid, Yue." This was the first time Yue saw her, and she saw a beautiful jade doll princess.

Yun Xi glanced at her without a word. Yue did not care about it. She was just following the order to protect her. The most important thing was that she got the chance to live in the royal palace. From her eyes, people could see a touch of mature and sharp look which did not belong to an ordinary woman; however, it soon disappeared. This was the first time they met, and this was the beginning of a special relationship.

The cute little palace maid thought it interesting to have a person willing to come to this place even worse than the Cold Palace. She answered her for the princess, "You can stand up, Yue. The princess couldn't speak and she was always nonchalant. You were a novice. You could ask me if you have any questions but you must follow my orders, understand?"

Yuer said these words, and she looked like a senior sister. She wanted to walk forward to help Yue stand up. Yue dodged her without a word inadvertently. She then followed the jade doll princess and came to the phoenix tree in silence.

Yuer was so angry that she couldn't help stamping. She ran to catch hold of Yue who was studying Yun Xi. However, Yue was never a woman who a little palace maid is strong enough to grasp. She jumped away, and Yuer hit a tree. Now Yuer knew that Yue practiced martial arts. She was bringing contempt upon herself. Now the princess had a companion, so she didn't want to follow them. She was never a girl who wanted to be around a dull jade beauty every day.

This incident did not affect Yun Xi who had been meditating superficially, however, she was distracted for a moment. Almost few people could notice this, but Yue could. She did not say a word but kept staring at the girl.

It's the same phoenix tree. Yun Xi was still staring at the tree with empty eyes. They killed time in this way and soon it was afternoon. Yuer prepared the carriage voluntarily. This time, she did not dare to cause Yue any trouble. She talked to them but she didn't follow up. Yuer knew that the princess was going to the bamboo forest for more boring meditation. Yue was still not tired of being there, so she was happy to be the supervisor of the princess to make sure she was back timely. In this case, Yuer didn't have to be the “monitor”. She felt so happy to have a rest.

Along the way, Yue stayed with Yun Xi in silence. It was so quiet. Yue was not a talkative person so she was not as bored as Yuer. Instead, she was observing the girl in front of her carefully. Yue did not think out loud as Yuer did. Such quiet companionship made Yun Xi feel kind of comfortable.

After the carriage arrived, Yue led Yun Xi to the bamboo forest. Yun Zhi had been waiting here for a long time. He was very attentive when he saw the girl. Yun Xi ignored him. She found a place in which she could see the Kingdom of Shui and continued her meditation.

Yun Zhi walked to her and kept talking, saying words in her ear, such as "Xier, how are you today", "Xier, what do you like", "Xier, are you hungry", "Xier, let me take you shopping", "Xier, let's go to the lake together", "Xier, I will go to Xiyan Palace to visit you in my spare time", and so on. He kept chattering constantly like a fly. Maybe he would be a fly next life.

Yun Xi was still like a soulless decoration. She did not turn around and paid no attention to him.

However, Yue next to her could notice the girl’s boredom in her empty eyes. Yue’s eyes were mature and sharp. She felt it was interesting, and she showed a playful look which a woman barely revealed. Yue did not stop Yun Zhi and she did not say any words. She continued to stare at the eyes of this muzzy girl. Yun Zhi was still talking, which amused Yue and she couldn't help smiling.
