Without waiting to be told, Phidel hurried to her room to pack few of her things for the journey. Jerome was no different either, she briskly hassled past Randy who was still on the phone to their room; not in the slightest way interested in what he was blabbing over the phone about as her only interest was getting their things.
Randy on the other hand, had through quiet an effort been able to attain an intermittent leave from the work place though it came with a cost. Finally getting off the phone, he hurried to get all the necessary travelling documents they would for their trip. By then, Jerome and Phidel were all done.“Have you called Emma that we're coming? ” Jerome hastily muttered as they glided down the stairs.“I will do that when we get into the car.” He answered, stepping down the last stairs while Jerome and Phidel followed suit. They trod into the corridor and Jerome helped Randy lock the door. It was almost dawn when Phidel and her parents’ flight touched the soil of the Netherlands. Martin was by then already waiting for them at the waiting terminal when they sauntered in.“Hey–” He called, instinctively waving them over on setting eyes on them. Though the mood was not a good one, both Jerome and Randy managed to put on a smile as they got a glimpse of him except for Phidel who was still in a bad state.“Hello Martin.” Randy uttered, exchanging handshakes with Martin as they neared him. They exchanged a few pleasantries and finally headed to the car. Phidel and Jerome settled in the backseat whiles Randy and Martin took the front. After a few seconds, he sped off, hitting the main streets of Netherlands. The night lights coupled with all those 5star shops and fancy cafés along the streets were quiet a sight to behold; not to talk of those huge bridges they drove by but in all, Phidel found no delight in them as she stared out of the window in silence.Jerome understanding w
Bella and Roxy on the other hand were looking for Tina, having no idea where she had left off to as they had earlier on left to their lockers to return their already used textbooks. They walked into the classroom to meet her absence and was told by one of their colleagues that she was called to the Teacher's Staffroom by Mr. Mark so they decided to meet her up.They sauntered through the numerous students moving to and fro the hallways to the path they knew Tina would definitely use. Just as they got there, they saw her coming. Though her steps were briskly, it never came to their minds that something may be up with her. All they could think about was paying her back for the last prank she played on them.So they quickly hid at the corner, ready to give her the scare ; having no idea what was going on with her. They giggled while waiting patiently. After a few minutes, Tina pulled up her head.“Boo!” They shouted, making Tina almost jump out of her skin. T
Nanny Betty had just staggered into the yard when she heard Tina’s scream. A flash of panic instantly swept through her face and she zoomed into the house. She hurried through the hall directly to the kitchen and found Tina crouched beside the cabinet with her arms wrapped around her knees; shivering vehemently.“Tina–” She muttered and Tina deftly glanced up at her with tears lingering in her eyes.“Nanny Betty...” She cried, swiftly sprang up and hugged her. “I was so scared nanny.” She grumbled. “I thought I was going to die.” She fringed.“Calm down dear.” Nanny Betty snapped in as she drew her back. She slightly hunched forward, drying the tears that had escaped her eyes. “It’s okay now. I’m here.” She affirmed and Tina nodded. She could see from Tina’s eyes how scared she was. Though Tina was calm now, nanny Betty could still feel her shivering within
Few minutes after Nanny Courtney left, she came rushing back with the whole first aid kit; not really knowing what to take nor leave out.“Here sir,” She muttered amidst panting, handing over the kit to Bella’s Dad as she joined the rest of the family standing beside the bed with anticipation written all over their faces.“Is she going to be okay?” Her mother asked, watching as her husband passed the inhaler Bella’s nose. The intensity of her panic evident in her voice. “Is that..” She went on about to say something when Bella sneezed; regaining her conscience. “Oh Bell–” She grumbled in relief while she hurried over to her.A whippy cry escaped Bella’s mouth on seeing her mother and she instinctively curled into her bosom, wrapping her hand around her. “I’m so scared mum–” She cried.Mrs Lassey deftly glanced up at her husband at her daughter's words then back to Bell
When he was sure Tina was no where in sight, he hastily travelled his gaze to the laptop seated on the table– hunching forward for the drive resting beside it. Unfortunately, Tina’s phone rang at that instant.“You dare not touch that Lucas–” She warned, darting out of the kitchen; as it was usually one of his habits of getting on her nerves. But as determined as Lucas was, he was swift enough to take the drive before Tina got there. She spontaneously threw a scornful look at him, reaching for the phone–unaware that the drive was gone. Lucas thought of taking his leave before Tina becomes conscious of herself over the drive but then, leaving suddenly was surely going to raise eyebrows or suspicions on him so he laid low; hiding the drive while he pretended to play along.“Hey Roxy.” Tina muttered over the phone, throwing Lucas the last glare before turning away.“We need to meet Tina.” Rox
After several minutes which seemed unending, the drive finally appeared on the laptop. Lucas hastily hunched forward with a satisfactory smile dancing merrily on his lips.“Let’s see..” He muffled, clicking on the icon but was a bit surprise to see only one file from the drive. “What’s so special about this?” He commented, clicking on the file while he waited for it to load. After few seconds, the video started playing. At first, Lucas thought he was watching some sort of horror movie– not until he saw his sister. He instinctively gasped, covering his mouth with his hand as a flush of shock swept across his face.At that moment, their mother walked in– making the slightest sound. She was instantly swept up by the same shock when her eyes involuntarily rested on the screen of the laptop upon stepping into Lucas' room; following his gaze.“Wh–what's going on?” She stuttered, making known of he
Seeing how things were heating up between father and daughter, Cizer tried to interven but then, Austin held up a hand– bringing her to a pause inbetween words.“Do you know what this might cause us?” He pointed out, staring at Tina as he welled up with agitation– his face clouded with anger. “Do you even know how...” He escalated but then, Tina’s voice snapped in.“Ah right,” She sniffed, trying to sound as calm as enough “I even forgot you care about your business and reputation more than your children.” She retorted– being sarcastic.“Tina!” Cizer barked.“What mum–” She hastily muttered in one breath with a straight face. “Is that not right?” She shouted as silent tears trekked down her eyes. “What you two only think about is yourselves. You are so selfish!.” She blunted. At instant, Cizer’s hand graced her
“Are you sure you're not exaggerating? ” Isla asked as they sauntered out of the shop with some poly bags in hand.Jade stared expectantly at Phidel as her brows creased in a thoughtful gaze– not sure whether she was exaggerating or not. But then, why would they throw her that look? This was the nagging feeling Phidel couldn't just shove off.“I probably may just be exaggerating. ” She shrugged, giving the matter a rest. The day had been fun and hectic one– but the sun had already started going down. Phidel, Isla and Jade had just about 45mins to get home before their parents starts nagging them.Without wasting another second, they scampered off to the bus stop. They were fortunate to find the bus already there when they arrived.Joining in the queue, they glided in and settled on the three seater just few paces to the back.Few seconds after everyone had settled in, the driver sped off. Phidel
“I am not the person you're looking for,” Those are the only words Phidel uttered– leaving Rowan more puzzled than before as she dashed off. “If she isn't then who is she and where is the one he is looking for? How are they related ?” Rowan pondered. For goodness sake, he needed clarity which for some reason~ he wasn't, getting. “Phidelia!” he called, rushing after her. Phidel on the other hand hassled down the hallways in her possible best to escape Rowan. She knew she would have to open up to him one day but it was not today. What made her even say what she said? “You're so stupid Phidel,” she mumbled– looking out for Rowan as she hurried the stairs to the main hall. “You should think before you speak.” she huffed. “Phidel!” At that moment, a voice called out to her. Intuitively, she lurked around with a panicked stricken look. For some reason the voice was familiar but that was none of her cousins. Instantly, her gaze settled on a figure approaching a few steps ahead of
“Is it true?” Isla’s voice hit Phidel before whatever she had thought of escaped her lips. Deftly, her gaze went to the former, totally taken aback and puzzled at the same time. “Do you see things we don't?” She quickly added.Phidel who was by herself lost for words; stared at the anxious and curious gazes fixed on her. “Are you going to tell them?” Phidelia slightly nudged her on the shoulder in a whisper as if they could hear– the whole atmosphere tensed up just by their gazes.Truth be said, Phidel had no problem letting the cat out of the bag but then her problem was her cousins; how were they going to take it? Were they going to believe her or just see her as some weird kid as she had always been referred to in her former school. These thoughts raced through her mind as the feeling of standing at crossed roads surged through her.Phidel intently stared at her sister– clearly hearing what was going through her mind. Has she been having this ability for a while? How come she never
Seated in the bus as it rode through the familiar streets, Phidel couldn't help her anxiety– her mind just refused to stay calm. It was like the whole universe was suddenly coming down on her. “Am I busted? Is this how it ends? Did I fail in bringing my sister’s murders to book? Did I fail her the justice she deserves?” This and more questions took turns in her mind as she remained restless. There was no way she was ready to give up, not when she had come this far. “....I need to do something, I’m easily not going to back out.” she said with some degree of certainty– thinking of a plan ‘B’ just in case her anticipation turned out to be right.Phidelia on the other hand, just stayed by her side– casting glances at her at every passing minute. It felt as though she didn't know her sister anymore. If she could wish for something at that moment, it would’ve been for the ability to read her sister's mind just to know what’s running on in there.Nevertheless, the former has also refused to
It was around 4 pm when the cab pulled over in front of the gates of WESLEY HIGH. Just on gliding out of the car, the sound of the bell rang through every corner of the school– announcing the end of classes for the day.Phildel briefly cast the driver a gaze then sauntered off into the school while the cab sped off. As things were, the former had barely spent about 2hours in the school. Scampering into the hallway, she navigated her way towards her class while the others filed into the hallways in groups– with everyone headed towards their various paths. Leaving the entire school in such a rumpus.Just when Phidel was about to curve into the classroom, Claire noticed her. Without hesitation, she dashed off to her.“Hey, where’ve you been?” she questioned which had Phidel cast a glance at her before walking through the door.Claire who wasn’t ready for Tina's trouble lurked into the class for any sign of her before fol
Hurrying through the field with literally no idea of being followed, Tina made her way to a deserted part of the park which was slightly into the woods– carefully watching her steps at every step she took. The atmosphere alone sends that creepy vibes down ones’ spine– the quietness that engulf the area was like that of a cemetery. Phidel on the other hand, followed as quietly as possible– keeping her distance so as not to get noticed.Though she could see every movement and demeanor of the former; the distance between them was vast– giving her enough room to sneak into hiding whenever Tina tried looking out for any stalker. With a successful close-up watch on the latter, she finally got to her destination– making Phidel swiftly sneak behind one of the trees as quietly as possible as Tina glanced back once again. When she was sure she was alone, she knelt beneath one of the trees which she had inscribed an indication on&nd
Lifting her gaze up as she swept away the strand of hair that had escaped from its hold, Tina’s brows intuitively furrowed– meeting eyes on with that familiar gaze. “You?” She muttered, instantly springing to her feet as she snatched the book from him in the process– her displeasure written all over her face. As if on an impulse, she scoffed– rolling her eyes in motion as she tilted her head away then back to the intruder whom she seem really pissed with. “Are you stalking me or something?” She inquired but then as if in realization, she paused for a moment~ narrowing her gaze towards the latter as if she could read through him. “Don’t tell me my Dad paid you for this.”“Hey, hey, wait a moment.” Ethen briefly chuckled, not sure what she meant by that. “What did you mean by paid for this?” He snapped in, his words fading with the smiles in the process. “Let’s first get this right– you bumped into me, not the other way round. Isn’t this the point where you thank me rather?” He added w
It had already been 20mins since Tina took her seat beside her friends but had barely said anything. Her mind seemed to be afar though there was so much rumpus in the hall. The look on her face screamed there was something on her mind but neither of her friends could lay hands on what it was– and neither was she opening up.“Hey,” Roxy nudged her arm, drawing the former’s attention to herself. “Are you okay? You’ve been spacing out since you took your seat.” She asked with creased brows– her concern evident on her face,. Meanwhile, Bella gazed skeptically at Tina as she filled her mouth with a bite of sandwich not sure what was on the former’s mind either.Staring into the latter eyes, the only thing that came to Tina’s mind was Phidel’s words. Should she tell her friend or not? A voice rang in her head but then, she shove it off inwardly– knowing it was not going to solve matters in an
Not long had the words escaped Phildelia's lips that they noticed the security personnel staggered out of the control room in quite a haste given– the fact that he was the only one available at the said time since his coworker was yet to arrive. Though he shouldn't have left his post, he had no other choice as it was very urgent. The two, on the other hand, saw this as a great opportunity– to put it right; an answered prayer. Watching as he turned the corner of the other hallway, they bulged out from their hideout as they scampered to their targeted spot as quietly as possible.Getting to the door, Phidel slowly pushed it open– popping her head in the first while Phidelia stayed glued behind her on the lookout for anybody at all. When the former was sure there was nobody inside, she hobbled in with the latter directly behind her. With a swift scan of the room– checking out for any hidden cams, Phidelia sauntered over to the fixed comput
Time was fast running but Tina had no intention whatsoever in going to school. All she wanted to do at the moment was to vanish with the breeze which was just as absurd as it sounded. She strolled along the pavement; lost in her own thoughts of dejection. Inwardly, she felt bitterness surged through her at every past memory that flashed her mind as she fought back her tears. She was really miffed at herself and whatever was going in her life.“They were the main reason she was like this but they don’t seem to get it;” Her inner voice echoed. Just thinking about it alone made her stomach churned with hatred. After what seemed like an endless walk, she finally got to the bus stop. She settled on one of the seats under the waiting shade– staring down at her feet. Not long, the first bus pulled by but she was least interested in getting on board. She remained glued in her seat, drowning in her grief– the sense of numbness infused her body
