WESLEY HIGH March 6, 2018. Phidelia stood in front of the sink, staring at her reflection in the mirror as she washed her hands under the running water when Tina and her friends barged in, slamming the door open. She jolted in fright deftly turning her gaze to face them. "Well..., well, guess who we have here. The weakling." Tina said, leaning on the door of one of the washrooms as her friends took their stand beside Phidelia. "Guess what, I have been searching for you in the entire school. Am I just not thoughtful" she added, a wicked smile dancing merrily on her lips. Phidelia with shaky hands, slowly traced her hand to her bag which lay beside the sink, and picked it up. "Where do you think you're going?" she snatched the bag from her, giving her a dirty slap on the face. Stepping back, she gestured for her friends to take over, "Get her." she ordered. Before Phidelia could utter a word, Roxy grabbed a fistful of her hair, shoving her aside roughly. A wince of pain flashed on
Doctor Frank was working on some documents when the door slowly creaked. He deftly raised his gaze to see Randy pecking through. "Oh Mr. Hoods, come in." Randy smiled, fully opening the door as he stepped in."Have a seat." Dr. Frank gestured him to the seat in front of his desk. "Sure.., thank you." He settled in, "Your nurse asked that you wanted to see me. Hope everything is alright Doctor?" "Certainly Mr. Hoods, no need to panic. Just want you to come and sign the necessary documents for your wife's discharge tomorrow." "Really...? My wife can be discharged tomorrow?" he queried, overwhelmed and surprised at the same time. "Yes, Mr. Hoods. From our close examination, both your kids and wife are in good state of health and can be discharged tomorrow so all you need is to sign the documents." "Sure." he nodded with a smile as the doctor handed out the documents to him. Within a few minutes, he was done signing. He gently passed the papers back to the doctor. "Alright..." Dr.
Returning home after the long day's activities, Phidel and Phidelia retired to their room, exhausted not even waiting for their parents to finish unpacking their stuff.Just as they got to their room, they both staggered to their beds and collapsed on it, falling asleep in the instant. After unpacking the things, Randy sauntered to the living room, their daughter's absence unnoticed by them. On settling on the couch, he turned on the TV set."Why don't you go and freshen up first as I get us something to eat." Jerome stood glancing at him as she picked up the packages of groceries."I will do that later, let me rest a little.""No dear, you're all sweaty. You should go freshen up and get a change of clothes," she mumbled, strolling to the kitchen with packages of groceries in both arms. She dropped them on the cabin, lifting them out one after the other as she got ready to cook.Randy sat on the couch with his eyes still glued to the screen, reluctant."Honey...., ain't you going?", ca
Jerome and Randy anxiously raced up stairs to their children's room followed by Phidel to see Phidelia on the floor, gasping for breath."Phidelia..." exclaimed Jerome as they rushed over to her. Randy instantly lifted her in his arms."Get the car keys dear." he said as they all hurried out of the room. Jerome wasted no time, she trod to their room which was on the far right of their kids' whiles Randy and Phidel raced down stairs with Phidelia. Not soon at they got to the car that Jerome joined them. With shaky hands, she managed to unlock the car. Phidel settled in the right seat in the back, beckoning her father to lay her sister next to her.Randy obliged, gently laying her down as he puts her head on her sister's laps. Phidel glanced down on her sister's pale face, brushing her hand through her hair as she still struggles for breath."It's gonna be okay Phidelia, mum and dad are here to help."By this time, both Jerome and Randy has settled
After about 30minutes of driving in silence, Phidelia finally spoke up. Feeling very uncomfortable with the unusual and awkward slience which has suddenly engulfed her once happy and cheerful family."Why is everybody so quiet, did I do something wrong?"She glanced from her sister who sat at the corner of her seat staring through the window with some gape between them to her parents.Randy now realizing the tension the unusual silence has created and the impression it was forming in Phidelia's mind; hastily interrupted with the bid to clear up her doubt."You haven't done anything dear. Everybody is just exhausted. Don't worry dear, let's talk more when we get home."This reply didn't go down well with Phidelia as her sister and mother were still quiet and still uncheerful though she had regain her health but she nodded anyway."Okay Dad." she replied and the atmosphere in the car went back to being quiet. Phidelia felt very uncomfortable but did
Getting Phidelia to calm down took a lot of effort from Emma. She knew from the very beginning that Phidelia was acting tough all along in order to make her parents less worried about her but least did she expected her to break down so much like that. She scooted closer to her and drew her in, placing her head on her shoulder whiles she brushed her hands through her hair to calm her down.“Cry it all out dear, that way you’ll feel much better.”She mumbled with the hope of getting her sober a little but it didn't turned out to her expectations as this rather gingered Phidelia to cry even more. “Guess that's a bad idea.” she thought to herself. “But it always turn out to work in those soap operas? Guess I have been watching too much drama.”She sighed, kicking out of her thoughts as she narrowed her eyes to Phidelia; thinking of how to handle situations before they get to the airport.“I hope this work
The long hour and half lesson finally came to an end. Their teacher packed her books and sauntered out of the class. Just as she stepped out, the class was thrown into a rumpus as the students glided out of their seats; living the class in groups.Phidelia was busy packing her books into her bag and didn't notice Rowan's gaze on her.“Hmm...Phidelia?” Rowan mumbled skeptically.“Huh?” she muttered, lifting her eyes to him with a quizzical look.“Since you have no friends yet would you mind joining me for lunch? We can keep each other’s company.”“Really? Can I?” Phidelia exuded, face etched. The thought of eating alone in the canteen without any familiar face around was a major problem which was running through her mind earlier on. Knowing very well that Isla will not give a second thought ignoring her even if she sees her because Isla sees no fun being with her. “Let me finish packing
Isla and her friend, Titi strolled with playful chatters to the locker room to get the textbooks they will need for the next class without any idea of what was going on in the canteen. Checking her wrist watch, she noticed that they had only few minutes left. She crinkled her nose in disgust. “We better hurry Titi before Mrs. Peterson gets to the class before us. I don't want to be in her bad book.” They sauntered towards their locker. Titi and Isla has been friends since childhood and to this effect, she knows almost everybody in the Rockson family except the fact about Phidelia being a twin. Getting to the locker, both turned their respective doors opened.“Oh,” Titi paused, suddenly remembering something. “Just saw Phildelia earlier on in the hallway, did she get transfered here?” she glanced into her locker, scanning through her neatly packed books for her Calculus textbook. “Hm.” Isla mumbled sharply with a nod, searching t
“I am not the person you're looking for,” Those are the only words Phidel uttered– leaving Rowan more puzzled than before as she dashed off. “If she isn't then who is she and where is the one he is looking for? How are they related ?” Rowan pondered. For goodness sake, he needed clarity which for some reason~ he wasn't, getting. “Phidelia!” he called, rushing after her. Phidel on the other hand hassled down the hallways in her possible best to escape Rowan. She knew she would have to open up to him one day but it was not today. What made her even say what she said? “You're so stupid Phidel,” she mumbled– looking out for Rowan as she hurried the stairs to the main hall. “You should think before you speak.” she huffed. “Phidel!” At that moment, a voice called out to her. Intuitively, she lurked around with a panicked stricken look. For some reason the voice was familiar but that was none of her cousins. Instantly, her gaze settled on a figure approaching a few steps ahead of
“Is it true?” Isla’s voice hit Phidel before whatever she had thought of escaped her lips. Deftly, her gaze went to the former, totally taken aback and puzzled at the same time. “Do you see things we don't?” She quickly added.Phidel who was by herself lost for words; stared at the anxious and curious gazes fixed on her. “Are you going to tell them?” Phidelia slightly nudged her on the shoulder in a whisper as if they could hear– the whole atmosphere tensed up just by their gazes.Truth be said, Phidel had no problem letting the cat out of the bag but then her problem was her cousins; how were they going to take it? Were they going to believe her or just see her as some weird kid as she had always been referred to in her former school. These thoughts raced through her mind as the feeling of standing at crossed roads surged through her.Phidel intently stared at her sister– clearly hearing what was going through her mind. Has she been having this ability for a while? How come she never
Seated in the bus as it rode through the familiar streets, Phidel couldn't help her anxiety– her mind just refused to stay calm. It was like the whole universe was suddenly coming down on her. “Am I busted? Is this how it ends? Did I fail in bringing my sister’s murders to book? Did I fail her the justice she deserves?” This and more questions took turns in her mind as she remained restless. There was no way she was ready to give up, not when she had come this far. “....I need to do something, I’m easily not going to back out.” she said with some degree of certainty– thinking of a plan ‘B’ just in case her anticipation turned out to be right.Phidelia on the other hand, just stayed by her side– casting glances at her at every passing minute. It felt as though she didn't know her sister anymore. If she could wish for something at that moment, it would’ve been for the ability to read her sister's mind just to know what’s running on in there.Nevertheless, the former has also refused to
It was around 4 pm when the cab pulled over in front of the gates of WESLEY HIGH. Just on gliding out of the car, the sound of the bell rang through every corner of the school– announcing the end of classes for the day.Phildel briefly cast the driver a gaze then sauntered off into the school while the cab sped off. As things were, the former had barely spent about 2hours in the school. Scampering into the hallway, she navigated her way towards her class while the others filed into the hallways in groups– with everyone headed towards their various paths. Leaving the entire school in such a rumpus.Just when Phidel was about to curve into the classroom, Claire noticed her. Without hesitation, she dashed off to her.“Hey, where’ve you been?” she questioned which had Phidel cast a glance at her before walking through the door.Claire who wasn’t ready for Tina's trouble lurked into the class for any sign of her before fol
Hurrying through the field with literally no idea of being followed, Tina made her way to a deserted part of the park which was slightly into the woods– carefully watching her steps at every step she took. The atmosphere alone sends that creepy vibes down ones’ spine– the quietness that engulf the area was like that of a cemetery. Phidel on the other hand, followed as quietly as possible– keeping her distance so as not to get noticed.Though she could see every movement and demeanor of the former; the distance between them was vast– giving her enough room to sneak into hiding whenever Tina tried looking out for any stalker. With a successful close-up watch on the latter, she finally got to her destination– making Phidel swiftly sneak behind one of the trees as quietly as possible as Tina glanced back once again. When she was sure she was alone, she knelt beneath one of the trees which she had inscribed an indication on&nd
Lifting her gaze up as she swept away the strand of hair that had escaped from its hold, Tina’s brows intuitively furrowed– meeting eyes on with that familiar gaze. “You?” She muttered, instantly springing to her feet as she snatched the book from him in the process– her displeasure written all over her face. As if on an impulse, she scoffed– rolling her eyes in motion as she tilted her head away then back to the intruder whom she seem really pissed with. “Are you stalking me or something?” She inquired but then as if in realization, she paused for a moment~ narrowing her gaze towards the latter as if she could read through him. “Don’t tell me my Dad paid you for this.”“Hey, hey, wait a moment.” Ethen briefly chuckled, not sure what she meant by that. “What did you mean by paid for this?” He snapped in, his words fading with the smiles in the process. “Let’s first get this right– you bumped into me, not the other way round. Isn’t this the point where you thank me rather?” He added w
It had already been 20mins since Tina took her seat beside her friends but had barely said anything. Her mind seemed to be afar though there was so much rumpus in the hall. The look on her face screamed there was something on her mind but neither of her friends could lay hands on what it was– and neither was she opening up.“Hey,” Roxy nudged her arm, drawing the former’s attention to herself. “Are you okay? You’ve been spacing out since you took your seat.” She asked with creased brows– her concern evident on her face,. Meanwhile, Bella gazed skeptically at Tina as she filled her mouth with a bite of sandwich not sure what was on the former’s mind either.Staring into the latter eyes, the only thing that came to Tina’s mind was Phidel’s words. Should she tell her friend or not? A voice rang in her head but then, she shove it off inwardly– knowing it was not going to solve matters in an
Not long had the words escaped Phildelia's lips that they noticed the security personnel staggered out of the control room in quite a haste given– the fact that he was the only one available at the said time since his coworker was yet to arrive. Though he shouldn't have left his post, he had no other choice as it was very urgent. The two, on the other hand, saw this as a great opportunity– to put it right; an answered prayer. Watching as he turned the corner of the other hallway, they bulged out from their hideout as they scampered to their targeted spot as quietly as possible.Getting to the door, Phidel slowly pushed it open– popping her head in the first while Phidelia stayed glued behind her on the lookout for anybody at all. When the former was sure there was nobody inside, she hobbled in with the latter directly behind her. With a swift scan of the room– checking out for any hidden cams, Phidelia sauntered over to the fixed comput
Time was fast running but Tina had no intention whatsoever in going to school. All she wanted to do at the moment was to vanish with the breeze which was just as absurd as it sounded. She strolled along the pavement; lost in her own thoughts of dejection. Inwardly, she felt bitterness surged through her at every past memory that flashed her mind as she fought back her tears. She was really miffed at herself and whatever was going in her life.“They were the main reason she was like this but they don’t seem to get it;” Her inner voice echoed. Just thinking about it alone made her stomach churned with hatred. After what seemed like an endless walk, she finally got to the bus stop. She settled on one of the seats under the waiting shade– staring down at her feet. Not long, the first bus pulled by but she was least interested in getting on board. She remained glued in her seat, drowning in her grief– the sense of numbness infused her body
