I called out when I was only a small distance from him. The man paused and slowly turned to look at me. I gasped. " Damien!"

I couldn't not recognize my Ex Husband, no matter how different he looked, and Damien did look different. He had somehow managed to grow a beard, his skin tone was a lot tanner than I remember and he didn't look nearly as muscular. There were dark circles under his eyes and he looked incredibly tired. But it was my Damien, the same bright green eyes and cold look he got whenever he encountered something he didn't want to see. It made my heart tighten in my chest. The child he had been speaking to gave me a curious look and then hurried off somewhere with his seashells. I took a hesitant step forward, as if afraid I would make him leave.
