After a while, Caleb also got himself checked in at the hospital.

After a series of checkups, they found no injuries on Avery.

Caleb followed behind Ember, worried. “How was it? Any problems?”

“It’s fine. Avery only suffered a shock.” She held Avery in her arms. He was fast asleep.

“Pass him to me.”

Caleb walked over to her and paused in front of her, trying to stop her from leaving through the front door.

She frowned, not understanding why Caleb was doing that. “What is it?”

“Look at your right arm.”

After listening to Caleb’s reminder, Ember finally realized that there was a scrape on her right arm. By now, the blood had already dried.

“It’s fine. I can deal with a small injury like this at home,” she said. She gave the wound a cursory glance, as if it wasn’t a problem.

“Since you’re at the hospital, you should get it looked at.”
