Chapter 163

Penelope did not waste time with Ember. Knowing that Caleb didn't want to see her at all, she decided to leave the building and seek Nick out.

Nick frowned when he noticed Penelope crying. After taking a sip of his coffee, he asked, "Did something bad happen, Miss Ferguson?"

Penelope's eyes were red. She pursed her lips, unsure if she should say anything. Finally, she began, "Nick, please help me. Ember brainwashed Caleb. He refused to see me. You're my last hope."

Nick felt distressed upon noticing Penelope's haggard look and said comfortingly, "Don't worry. I'll talk to Caleb and figure out what's going on."

Penelope was relieved. "Thank you so much, Nick."

Nick went to Lane Group immediately. Caleb was reading documents in his office.

Caleb was interrupted by the footsteps. He stopped going through his documents right away, opting to look up at Nick in displeasure instead.

Nick sat on the couch, seemingly at ease. He proceeded to make himself a cup of coffee.

Caleb frowned.
