"Em, I'm not feeling well now. Please let me stay."

The expression on Ember's face froze. Caleb looked hale and hearty.

It seemed that Caleb thought he could lie his way into Ember's heart just because she had been nothing but nice to him lately.

"Mr. Lane, stop pretending to be ill. You look healthy enough to be discharged immediately."

Caleb ignored Ember's warning. He hesitated for a moment before speaking, "I know that you've misunderstood my relationship with Penelope greatly. I promise the Fergusons won't cause trouble for you ever again."

"You don't have to explain anything. It's between you and Penelope. It has nothing to do with me."

Caleb felt disappointed and left reluctantly.

But he would not let Avery's effort go in vain.

Caleb was discharged from the hospital in the afternoon three days later. Allen reported what had happened to Furguson Corp in the past few days when he returned to work.

Caleb smiled while playing with the pen. "Alright, keep your eyes on them."
