I sauntered into the mall. Being an essential service, those were one of the buildings still open on the roads. I couldn't go without noticing how surreal and tranquil the streets were.
Sometimes it felt like i was the only one walking, when Jade wasn't as far off. I wore the boots that slammed against the ground noisily, yet still managed to give me the main character energy.
"Go and get the detergent" I said to Jade through the mask, who still doubted we had reached a stage in whatever relationship we had that we went shopping together. For detergent and snacks.
And because it hadn't dawned on me that she was practically living in, i wasn't that scared. All Jade did was nod, before diverging into another aisle.
