Beta Knight ushered me into his office, the heavy door closing with a resounding thud that echoed in the tense silence. My heart raced, not just from the impending confrontation but from the sight of my uncle, Dirk, who sat behind the desk like a dark cloud looming over me. The moment our eyes locked, a wave of disdain washed over me, and I felt my body grow cold as fear coursed through my veins.

As I dropped to my knees, the cold floor pressing against my skin, I felt utterly helpless. It was as if all the blood in my body had drained out, leaving me pale and trembling before the man who had always been a source of intimidation. Dirk rose from his seat, his movements deliberate and predatory, and I could feel the weight of his anger bearing down on me.
