Chapter 124

I screamed. I didn't know when I raised my voice. I would like to call it an involuntary action but my voice was over the room. The door opened. It was like a storm pushing through the sea. Everyone rushed into my room at this moment, including my kids. They were all worried and curious to know what made me yell in such a manner; they were all scared of me, anticipating an answer. My kids were the first to speak, followed by Sarah.

"Mummy, are you alright? Are you hurt?

“Jane, is everything alright? Sarah spoke with so much concern in her voice. I stared at all of them, not knowing what to reply to. I tried to speak but I was stuttering. A thousand and one thoughts were running through my mind at this point. I struggled to focus on the people standing in front of me; they fixed their gaze on me and this made the whole situation very awkward because I was the center of attraction. I finally found a voice to speak. I spoke but my voice was barely above a whisper.
