Chapter Two
POV: Pierce De Luna
I got off from my shift at the restaurant earlier than I normally did. My whole body ached but my mind was as active as a child's color book. I kept thinking about her- Kelly.
There was something about her that separated her from most girls. She was not your average girl; that part was evident. From her fiery red hair to her brown eyes that reminded me of chocolate balls, then her lustrous golden skin, it was impossible to resist her.
I crossed the street and entered the apartment building. The room I shared with my older sister was too small to accommodate an adult elephant but the rent was cheap enough that we didn't have to get on the landlord's naughty list. Most of our neighbors were drug addicts while some were run-down hookers. It wasn't the kind of place you'd take a kid to.
I pulled my hoodie over my head well enough to cover my face. It was the only way I would ever be able to get to my room safely without a crackhead asking if I could spare a loose change.
The elevator no longer worked and according to what we heard when we moved in, it hadn't been functional for the last eight years.
Home sweet home, I thought with a grin as I turned the hall leading to our room. My head was low when I got to the door so I didn't see the girl standing there, waiting but I smelled her.
Jenna...
"Took you forever." She said as she straightened from the resting position she had taken before.
I slapped my forehead in frustration. To think I had almost made it inside without any hitch.
I growled. "Jenna. How may I help you."
I jerked the keys away from the door. She eyed me. I could feel her eyes on me but I couldn't see her expression because I kept my head low. She wasn't worth the stress of looking up.
"Open the bloody door. We need to talk." She said with an impatience common among drug addicts.
I withdrew from the door folding my arms. "We can talk just fine here."
My eyes moved along her body which now had so many similarities with a carcass. Her eyes were drawn and I could see her damned heartbeat on her ripped shirt. You could tell by taking a good look at her that there was once a time she was beautiful but now she had managed to accelerate the aging process.
She moved closer to the door and then suddenly, she starts banging it.
"Open." A bang. "The." Another bang. "Fucking!" A loud bang. "D-"
I didn't wait for her to complete the last sentence before shoving her aside to open the door. The last thing I wanted was a scene that would attract my blood-tasty neighbors. They would dive at any juicy gossip as if it was the bare neck of an innocent fair maiden.
I pushed her inside and locked the door behind us. My heart was beating really fast and I had to rest against the door with my eyes closed willing my palpitations to cease.
My eyes opened to see Jenna there standing naked in front of me. Her pale skin had purple bruises in some places and there were visible scar tissues in her arm from syringes.
Her breasts sloped at an awkward angle and they resembled the ears of a poodle. Her ribs bulged visibly in her almost translucent skin.
"Get dressed. You look like death fucked disease and had a child." I snorted with a laugh.
Her cheeks flushed red. "Bastard!" She yelled.
My laughter burst out as I fell on the chair holding at my sides from the exertion of the laughter.
The look on her face was priceless as she snatched the ripped shirt and jean skirt she had worn here.
She struggled into her clothes trembling from the effort it took her to get them on while standing. I felt bad for her. She had let her addiction destroy her. There was a time when I would have burnt the world for her but those days were gone. She chose drugs over me.
"Baby I need your help." She said in a soft voice. It reminded me of who she used to be.
"I don't have shit to give you. Get out!" She flinched at my harsh tone.
I felt sorry for her. In a way, it was my fault she had ended up the way she did, if only I hadn't given up on her but I had long stopped beating myself over it. God knows I tried everything I could to get her to fight it but she let it win.
"Please leave before Freya gets back. She wouldn't like it if she met you here." I said with the little kindness I still had for her.
She nodded. Jenna stumbled to the door and tried to get it open but her hands were too frail to do the job. I stepped forward to help her with it and she stumbled into the hall.
"Please don't come here anymore, Jenna. You broke up with me two years ago."
She walked away shuffling her feet. I blow air from my mouth and shrugged before closing the door making sure to lock it.
I walked to the bed and collapsed on it letting exhaustion give me its best shot. My mind wandered into a dreamy sleep-induced free fall. There was just one thing on my mind the whole time.
Kelly...
Chapter Three POV: Kelly Flores I stared at the vacant seat opposite me and my mind drifted to the guy that just left it. He would have been my type in another lifetime but all he had succeeded to do was to infuriate me with his charms and witty words. I checked my phone again; nothing yet. There was full signal so it was either Jack didn't make it back to town or he had some serious explaining to do. Shit! I slapped my forehead. I'd totally forgotten to get a gift for Jack. I scrolled through my phone to the app I used in buying stuff and scrolled through their catalog for men's accessories. A particular gold watch caught my eye. The price was $100,000 which showed its value. It looked like the type of stuff Jack would love so I purchased it without breaking a sweat. The delivery would be in an hour. That would be enough time for me to drive to his apartment. I was tired of the crowd and waiting for Jace was out of it because I knew for certain she wouldn't show up. It was
Chapter Four POV: Kelly Flores "Oh, fuck. Hit me harder. Fill me with your cock!" I heard the words as if they had been spoken directly into my ears. My hand covered my eyes as the tears flowed from my eyes just as the waters from the shower had weaved intricate patterns down my flesh. I opened the door... Jack froze, turning around to meet my horrified gaze. He sighed. He turned back to the girl spread out on the bed banging her like I wasn't there seeing the whole thing. The girl moaned and trashed in pleasure while I watched in horror. "J- Ja, Jack," I called in a barely audible voice. It felt like a vice squeezed my throat. "What's going on here?" I asked, unable to fully comprehend the whole thing. Jack snapped at me. "What does it look like, a fucking picnic party?" The fury in his voice made me jerk and I had a little glimpse of the reality of what was really happening. He was screwing another girl on our anniversary day and he didn't seem to care that I had caught h
Chapter FivePOV: Kelly Flores"Hell no. I need my dress back. It's in his apartment." I growled at Jace with my hands folded. She had somehow managed to use an unknown voodoo-level trick to convince me to follow her to her car and she had driven me back to my apartment. Now as I sat across her, furious as hell, I couldn't believe how it had worked."I need it, Jace. My watch too." I took a breath. She sighed. "C'mon. I know you better than anyone else. You don't need any of those. You can replace them a hundred times."I hated to admit she was right, but she was. I didn't need them. I was just being bitter which should be a perfectly normal response to walking in on my boyfriend fucking a teenage girl."Jace, he-" My voice trailed off as another wave of tears choked me."I know. I know, love."Holding it in hurt much worse so I had no other choice but to let it out as Jace held me in her arms. I let the warmth and comfort of her embrace take me.I sniffed twice, wiped at my eyes, and
Pierce povI wasn't sure if my eyes were deceiving me or it's really her, in all attitude this lady is so different from the one I met few days back. she look a mess."Kelly" I called her name to confirm I'm not mistaking and she immediately looked up "Kelly of kelz wear." I called her again and I could see her gaze drop. She must have felt bad she met someone who know her here in this her condition."You remember me?..... Pierce, the waiter at the party few days back." I study her reaction as I spoke to be sure she recognized me but to my greatest surprise she didn't respond with words but her eyes gave her away instantly. I guessed they couldn't contain the pain again.I became dumbfounded, how can such a girl be crying?, what could have happened.I left my position behind the counter and move closer to her."Are you okay Kelly, what's the matter?" I asked her but her tears keep dropping like an heavy rain.I signaled to the other colleague of mine on duty that I'll be right back a

Chapter OnePOV: Kelly FloresI knew I had made a terrible mistake by agreeing to follow Jace to this party. I would rather get run over by a bus and spend weeks bedridden in a friggin hospital than make the same mistake of accepting her invitation if I had a second chance.I cursed under my breath. This was not how I imagined my first anniversary with Jack.It was already a great disappointment when he said his going on a trip and will be back on the evening of our anniversary, but he promised to call when he get back which he hasn't done.Instinctively, I checked my phone once again for missed calls or notifications but there were none. It was so like him to zone out just when he's needed. I willed his call to come through with my mind but I guess my psychic energy ends in my imagination.I looked around in an attempt to find Jace among the crowd but all I saw were strange faces; mostly cute guys just like the one who had stolen my friend. Jace could never ignore a cute guy even if
