~Some things are better when they are wet.~

Arcane POV:

Last night was the most comforting night which I have experienced in my life. I never realized that just sitting with someone, without saying a word can bring so much relief.

All the tension which had been building up inside me evaporated. I don't know how long we stayed together and when I went back to my tent to sleep. But in the morning, when I got up, I was refreshed.

I took a shower and changed my clothes. However, when I saw him walking around, looking all luxurious, I couldn't help but smile. He winked and walked towards me, "Good morning." He leaned closer and rubbed my upper arm.

"Morning." I whispered.

"Someone's in a good mood today." He taunted me in amusement. I rolled my eyes, "Trust me, this has nothing to do with you." I assured him.

He cocked a brow, "And I think it has everything to do with you." He grinned and showed me all 32 teeth.

I scoffed and went to get food for myself. After breakfast, we have to le

~I want to tease you before I please you.~ Arcane POV: Tonight, I have to go on a dinner date with Marcus which I promised him. Half-heartedly, I picked out a plain peach colored dress and got ready for the night. I didn’t put any effort because I didn't want to lead him on. However, after getting all set for the date, I went downstairs just to find everyone home. I shut my eyes and inhaled sharply. 'They really don't have to be home. Sh*t! I can't answer their questions.' I thought. "Arcane sweetie, where are you going at this time?" Mom inquired and from the corner of my eyes I glanced at Xavier who had his hands clenched into fists and glared at me with those deep blue eyes that were about to strip me bare. "Actually, I am going to see a friend." I couldn't say the word 'date'. However, they are no child to not understand the situation. They do know what it means to go out while being dressed up from head to toe. "What friend?" Mom raised a brow and now I didn't like how s

~I think about you a little more than I should.~ Arcane POV: Our exams are right across the corner and because of all the things which are happening in my life right now, I have zero preparation for them. This semester, I am definitely procrastinating. I sighed and packed a few things before going to see my Mom. She was watching TV in her bedroom but upon seeing me, she turned it off and patted the empty space beside her for me. I forced a smile and settled there. Things between me and Mom have been awkward ever since she got married. I have my suspicions regarding Vincent and she knows that I do, still she never tried to clear those up for me. Why? I seriously have no idea about what kind of a person my mother is. "What is it sweetheart?" She ran her fingers through my hair and adjusted them. I fidgeted in my place and wryly glanced at her. "You know my exams are approaching near. So, I was planning on staying at Abby's tonight." I explained my purpose for coming here. She we

Xavie POV: ~I keep telling myself you are just a dream.~The moonlight seeped through the curtains, casting eerie shadows across the room. I stared up at the ceiling, my mind a swirling mess of thoughts and emotions. It was supposed to be a quiet night at home, but my tranquility had been shattered by one simple fact - Arcane was at Abby's place, not here with me. And that single truth kept me tossing and turning in my bed all night long.I couldn't help the irritation that simmered within me. Why did she have to choose tonight to be away? Of all the times she could have spent at Abby's, it had to be this one. The room right across the hall felt empty without her presence. I couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something was amiss. Arcane's absence was like a void, and I despised how it gnawed at me, relentless and unforgiving.I glanced at the digital clock on my bedside table. Its glowing numbers mocked me, each minute that ticked by an agonizing reminder of Arcane's absence. I

The hallways that were once filled with chatter and laughter were now hushed with the tension of tests. Xavier and I found ourselves engrossed in our books, revising tirelessly, and stealing moments between classes to exchange encouraging smiles. As we sat side by side in the library, our notebooks spread out before us, I couldn't help but steal glances at him. His brows furrowed in concentration, his fingers drumming lightly on the table as he muttered formulas under his breath. He looked so focused and determined that it made me fall for him all over again. Before I could have a chance to stop peeking at him secretly, he said, "Hey," he whispered, looking up from his notes to catch my gaze."Hey," I replied, a small smile tugging at my lips."Can you stop looking at me like that? ~Wanna be my ride.~ Arcane POV: Arcane POV: The night had been a whirlwind of joy and celebration, marked by laughter, dancing, and the warmth of friendship. As Xavier and I returned from the party, our footsteps echoing in the quiet of the night, I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. It was as if the weight of the world had momentarily lifted, and all that mattered was the love and connection we shared. At that moment, I practically forgot everything. Xavier and I giggled while he wrapped his arm around my waist and it made me giggle. "Stop it." I firmly said to him. But he arched his brow in a teasing manner, "What if I don't want to?" I chuckled before shaking my head in bewilderment. Who would have thought that I would be seeing a lovesick puppy like Xavier? Maybe I am overthinking this but this is all I know. She was sleeping soundly and I could not take my eyes off her. I feel like the hospital has become my second home, a place where the harsh fluorescent lights and the sterile smell of antiseptic made me extremely anxious. I never left my mother's side, not for a moment. No matter how much Vincent and Xavier insisted that I should go home and rest, I simply couldn't tear myself away from her.The emotional turmoil that had been unleashed by the revelation of my mother's illness had left me feeling like a ship lost at sea. Here was where Xavier and I shared that kiss, a sweet moment in time. There, he lounged on my bed, playfully teasing me. And it was this very room where he saved me from my darkest moments, bringing me back from the edge. Tears threatened, but I blinked them away, resolute.
