"Six months is a big deal, Kristine," Kate says, dropping down onto the couch beside me. "Did you ever imagine you'd be here six months later after anonymously hooking up and then having a friends with benefits arrangement?" She laughs, taking a sip from her wine glass.

Honestly, no one could have expected this.

"I don't want to make a 'big deal' out of it and make it awkward. It's only been six months." I shrug.
