Chapter One.

Caught in the Act. 

“Why don’t you just break up with her?” The woman asked in a seductive voice. She was completely naked and riding a naked man.  

“Please, just stop mentioning her name while we are fucking” The man was so lost in pleasure, he did not need any distractions. 

The man was so excited, he squeezed the woman’s breast making her moan in pleasure, he was in a world filled with delight and extreme pleasure at the moment. 

The woman seemed dissatisfied as she didn’t get the answer she needed from the man. “No way, I wonder why you are still hooked on her? She’s just an adoptive daughter, Even the maids hold an important role in our house, what’s so good about her?” 

The man didn’t say anything. He gripped the woman’s waist and thrust harder, which made her scream and moan his name. 

Mia Thompson stood in front of the door listening to everything inside the room. Her tired eyes turned cold as she listened to the conversions. 

She had just returned from the orphanage home, where she was adopted as a child. Ever since she had a terrible dream of her real parents, she swore to look for them. She had spent a lot of money and Time looking for her parents and now she was very exhausted. 

To make the situation worse, her younger sister was hooking up with her boyfriend, Mia felt her life was falling apart. 

“Did you not hear me? You have to choose between me or her tonight, the choice is yours.” Eva Thompson pounded on Mark Lin's  chest.  

Mia kicked the door open and glared at the couple “let me spare you the trouble, he’s just a man so you can have him, if you want.” 

Although Mia sounded nonchalant, her heart broke to watch her boyfriend cheat on her with her sister.  

Mark was Mia's high school classmate. They started dating during college. He was a handsome man from a wealthy family. 

He had confessed to her during first year in college. 

It was on a playground of their college, many people were around and almost all the students witnessed the romantic scene. The crowd cheered, and Mia agreed to be his girlfriend. 

The pain of betrayal hurt her so much. Looking at the two people in front of her, Mia clenched her fists, her nails sinking into her flesh. 

Mark hurridenly pushed Eva away, and hurriedly wore his pants, and got out of bed.  

Eva almost fell down, Mia’s words ignited her anger. 

She had to put a lot of effort hooking up with the wealthy,handsome man like mark. 

Mia had won his heart without doing anything, which provoked her even more. 

After all Mia was just an adoptive daughter. 

“What the hell are you saying? You sound like you’ve dumped Mark, how dare you? Who do you think you are? It’s Mark who dumped you bitch!” Eva sneered as she pulled the duvet closer to her body. Then she looked at Mark and asked, “ Mark, what did you just tell me? Tell that to Mia!” 

Mark had slept with Eva purely out of impulse. The woman had seduced him, and he lost control of himself. 

He kneeled down and grabbed Mia’s  wrists, “ Mia please forgive me, I didn’t know what I was thinking.” 

Although tears filled her eyes, Mia looked at him with disgust. Once Mia set her mind on something, no one could change it. 

She withdrew her hand from Mark's hold. 

“I’m sorry Mark, I don’t want this relationship anymore, especially one that has been tainted with Eva, you two are a perfect match, so let’s break up.” 

Eva was taken aback, Mark was on the verge of breaking down, but there was not a trace of sadness on Mia’s face.  Anger surged through her veins because she didn’t achieve what she had wanted. 

Mia didn’t have the energy to communicate with them any longer. Eva has always been competitive with her ever since they were kids and she enjoyed taking away whatever belonged to Mia. 

Mia was used to it, she was only worried about finding her biological parents, and now she had to hire a professional investigator to do the job for her, which requires a lot of money.  

Just as she was about to leave, she heard the clacking footsteps from the corridors. 

“It’s late at night, what’s with the noise?” 

Mia’s adopted parents, Frank Thompson and Lydia Thompson, rushed over after hearing the commotion. 

Frank walked into the room first. His eyes widened in horror when he saw his daughter sitting on the bed wearing nothing except for the duvet wrapped around her body. “ What The hell are you doing? You are going to get married soon, what are you doing with another man?” He bellowed. 

The Edward’s family and the Thompson family had an agreement to get their kids married when they grew up. Her fiance was an illegitimate son, and the Edward Family had driven him out of the house a very long time ago. He was poor and didn’t have a decent job. He was just an idler who wasted his time doing nothing. Eva did not want to marry him. 

She felt she deserves someone better. 

“I’m pregnant,” Eva said, pointing at Mark.  

“I’m pregnant with his child, so I can’t marry anyone else, you better cancel the wedding” 

Mark was dumbfounded, how could she be pregnant? He only slept with her thrice. 

“What nonsense, you must marry into the Edward Family!” Frank was fuming with rage. He wanted to slap Eva for acting so stupid.  

After all, the wedding was a matter of his prestige. What could he tell the Edward’s Family if they asked for the reason for calling off the wedding. 

Lydia protectively stood in front of her daughter. She was very protective of Eva and seldom scolded her. Her husband was seething mad, and she couldn’t watch him shout at Eva. 

“Frank, why are you mad at Eva?” Lydia cried out “Mia is also a daughter of the Thompson family. She can also marry into the Edward’s family” 

Frank and Lydia didn’t have any children in their first few years of marriage. Due to the pressure of  the Elders in the Thompson family they had to adopt Mia, years later Lydia finally got pregnant and gave birth to Eva.  

The whole thing only made her hate Mia even more. Mia's existence was proof of her infidelity. The mere sight of the adopted daughter irked Lydia. 

After giving birth to her daughter, Lydia became partial towards her daughters and despised Mia. 

Later as time went by Mia grew up to be a better woman than her daughter in every aspect. That seemed to intensify her hatred for Mia even more.  

Lydia’s words enraged Mia, “ you had agreed to get Eva Married into the Edward’s family not me,” she roared “why are you planning to get me married just because your sweet daughter has been banging someone.” 

“We have raised you all these years. It is time for you to repay us back our kindness,” Lydia said in a low voice, her eyes twinkling with cunningness. “ don’t you want to find your parents? I will pay the private investigator as long as you marry into Edward's family.” 

A satisfied smile spread across Lydia’s face, she felt Mia and the illegitimate child of the Edward Family was a perfect Match.  

Mia gritted her teeth as Lydia’s words infuriated her. However the dream she had flashed across her eyes in her mind, she needed to find her family urgently. 

She had just graduated and she could not afford to pay the private investigator. 

Although Frank and Lydia adopted Mia they never really cared about her or showed her any affection. 

Noticing her hesitation, Lydia walked closer to Mia, “ you will have to get married in the future, so just think about it and help us out by marrying the son of the Edward family, we will give you the money as soon as you are married.” 

Tears finally streamed down her cheeks and she lowered her head and replied “ok I will Marry him.”
