90. Toxicity

Emma's POV

From the moment our eyes met, my breath was knocked out. He looked killer as usual tonight cladded in black from head to toe. His jawline has gotten sharper, maybe because of his ill health from a few days ago. He looked like a dashing young man though he was in his early 30’s. And my heart rigorously beats for him.

How do you manage to be so charismatic every time?

His eyes fixated on me while my eyes hid from them. He was alone here which is good and relieving and at the same time confusing. But who cares what he's doing in his relationship? Shouldn't I mind my own business?

Yes.

Shrugging my thoughts and ignoring his existence though I can clearly sense them I involve myself with my friends conversation and continue dinner. The food was delicious and mouthwatering, and my taste buds exploded. This somehow made me forget him completely. When the groom and bride walk to our table, we raise a toast and congratulate them. And then they walk to the next table aka Shawn's.
