Chapter 42-red-card warning

Jaclyn’s POV

The room was a bit noisy, and Natash went out before picking up the phone.

My voice, tinged with questioning, rang out, "It's late, where did you go, Natash? Why aren't you speaking? Did you hear me talking?"

Natash took a deep breath and whispered, "I heard. Having dinner with a colleague. I'll be back in a while."

"Colleague," I furrowed my brow slightly, "Male or female?"

The other end of the phone fell into silence again. I belatedly realized that my question was quite lacking in sophistication, so I coughed to cover it up.

"Having a meal with a colleague occasionally is fine. Natash·Yael, I was wrong that day. I shouldn't have scolded you indiscriminately. Living in the villa, it's indeed inconvenient for you to commute to work. However, you are my Luna. Moving house is such a big matter. Shouldn't you have informed your mate in advance?"

What I didn't want to say was that when I called the home landline, the housekeeper told me that Luna had left with her luggage.
