"What's going on over there?" I asked Leonardo Leo Coleman, the first person that spoke to me when I transferred here.

"Just some girls arguing, nothing major." He replied, shrugging his shoulders.

I paid no attention to the fight until I heard a rather familiar rude voice.

"That voice sounds familiar." I informed Leo, whose uninterested face suddenly sparked curiousity.

"We can check it out now." He scratched the back of his dirty blonde hair.

We put our books into our bags and headed towards the direction of the screams and gasps.

Because Leo was popular, the students made a small path for us, causing us to go right into the front of the whole drama.

"I won't be so nice." I heard Riona mutter to her before casually walking away.

The mass of students decreased immediately after she left while a girl came forward to walk with the jet black haired girl.

"What's that girl's deal?" I turned to Leo as we began to make our way to our next class.

" Which? The one with glasses or the one left standing there." He asked.

" The one with glasses."

" That would be Riona Davis. Transferred Into this school last year and she's very smart, some would call her a nerd because she wears glasses and is good academically, but no one dares get on her bad side. She's rumored to have beaten up a jock who tried to have his way with her. She doesn't have friends and doesn't talk to anyone, you only see her with her sister who is also quite the cutie." He explained in a light tone.

" Also quite the cutie? Do you think she's cute?" I teased and Leo just hit my chest lightly before increasing his walking speed.

So she has a sister, that's interesting.

After class was over, Leo and I stayed longer so everyone could leave first before we did, but two familiar girls walked over to us.

One had slender body and her dark hair made her pale skin more pronounced, while the other was quite the beauty, her caramel skin and brown eyes made her stand out but her small afro highlighted her well structured face.

"Hey Leo, we want to have a party at my house tomorrow to celebrate the start of the school year and we would love if your friend could also come with you." The afro girl informed Leo, who in turn looked at me as if asking if I was up for it.

"Sure." He replied to them after I slightly nodded my head.

" We'll see you there." The dark haired girl showed a grin before both exited the classroom.

"Those girls look somewhat familiar." I said as I watched them leave.

"The dark haired girl is the girl from earlier in the hallway and her name is Kara while the other brown skin girl is Alyssa, the one who came out to help Kara."

"I saw the way Alyssa called you Leo just now, do you have something with her?" I teased as we walked out of the classroom.

"What no-" He stopped talking when he hit someone.

"Did everyone return blind this year?!" A rude familiar voice thundered.

"I didn't see, I just walked out the door and-"

"Don't bother! I'll have you know that the last person who tried to sweet talk me ended up going to the nurse's office with a broken nose, you sho-"

"Rie that's enough, he was apologising, don't be like that." A tiny voice from behind her said.

"Let's go." Riona took the other girl by the hand and both walked towards the exit of the school.

"Dude you were shaking! Did you think she was gonna break your nose?" I laughed seeing Leo's expression.

"What, no! I'm going home!" Leo expression turned sour and also exited the school.

Is he really scared of her?

Shit! I asked Miss Jasmine for a favor, I need to check on that.

I walked up to the Physics classroom and found Miss Jasmine writing something on her notebook.

"Hello teacher!" I greeted loudly with a smile on my face.

"Keith! We're in school, show me respect and address me as miss!" She scolded.

"Sorry aunty! Habit!"

" Don't slip up like that in the presence of other students, okay?"

"Yes aunty,"

She glared at me.

"But there's nobody here!" I defended.

"What do you want Keith?" She asked clearly tired of my presence.

" Did you convince Riona?" I inquired.

"Yes and she agreed. So you can approach her to ask about when's convenient for you both."

"Yes! "

" Why are you so interested in Davis though?"

"Nothing important. Just want to know that's all."

" You better pay attention during those classes, I won't give you a passing grade if you don't do well."

" Sure aunty."

I exited the classroom and glanced at the hallway which attracted a lot of attention this afternoon.

Something doesn't add up about you Riona and I will figure it out.

Now I have the perfect excuse to approach you and spend time with you, you'll soon start telling me all of your secrets.

Girls were never interesting to me, I have been attending Colton's since I was born and when I finally entered High school, my popularity attracted a lot of female attention which I had no interest in.

The girls I've met only either cared about their looks and popularity status or nerdy and cowardly.

When Riona first transferred here, I thought she would be like those nerdy females who couldn't stand up for themselves, but her feisty nature made her look all the more attractive.

I remember the first time someone tried to hit her for being smart, she ended up beating up the girls who cornered her in the hallway or when Cole a player for our basketball team tried to force himself on her but gave him a broken nose.

I don't know when it all started but whenever I would see her or hear her name, I would get interested in the conversation.

Today was the first time I had any contact with her, when I bumped into her today, her shining green eyes rested on mine for more than a second.

I never had the courage to ever speak to her because I heard rumors that she wasn't interested in making any friends and so I kept my distance while admiring her from afar.
