Sex with an incubus. How would it feel to be touched, kissed, and penetrated by an invisible being? Would it be romantic or send chills down my spine? I was about to receive some answers.

The sensation between my legs was growing. My lady parts were getting excited. "Stop!" I cried. Who was I even talking to? Silly me.

Whether it was my command or my imaginative mind playing a trick on me, the feeling stopped altogether.

I sat up on my bed and examined my thighs. There was nothing there. My eyes peered into the shadows. Something must be hiding in places that the candlelight couldn’t illuminate properly.

“Hello, is anybody there?” I blurted out. My human self couldn’t help it. I needed an answer for confirmation.

Nothing changed. The silence was spooky.

A powerful gust of wind blew at my face, accompanied by a loud sound. I jumped out of bed, only to find the window wide open.

It was strange. Had I forgotten to close it, or was it an invisible entity?

The chilly air made my body cold, so I reached for my robe and squeezed into it before closing the window. That time I double-checked the bolts.

I returned to my bed feeling okay. For the day, the ritual was complete. However, I couldn’t stop glancing at the amulet hanging from my window for the rest of the night.

I slurped my coffee. It was my third cup since morning. Sleep evaded me for most of the night, and now I was stuck in a conundrum.

The previous night’s ritual didn’t make any sense in the morning. It was hard to understand the outcome. Was it real or a figment of my imagination? My overthinking made me question everything.

Under stress and fear, my active brain tended to hallucinate.

My phone buzzed. I put my coffee aside and unlocked my phone. It was a text from my boss. I had called in sick at work thirty minutes ago. There was going to be something unpleasant in that text. I was confident.

The text said:

A cold shouldn’t stop you from writing that article. I need it by evening!

Cassidy, you have been stalling a lot. I know you are going through some problems, but it’s not okay to have excuses every week in a professional environment. Your career has just started, and you have a long way to go. I suggest you quit and solve your personal problems first.

I buried my head in my lap. It wasn’t unexpected. I was screwing up badly at my first job after college. Nothing had been the same since my father’s death. Our family was suffering, and so was I.

There was always a family emergency each week for the past few months. My sister and Mia were suffering greatly at the hands of the paranormal. No amount of holy water and a priest’s blessings were helping to remove the threat permanently. My mother believed that a curse could only break with the end of its creator.

Becky’s call finally came through, and I instantly answered it.

“Hey there! What’s cooking good-looking? Did your sheet ghost lover arrive and wrap you in its white sheet tight and well?” asked Becky in an awful cowgirl accent.

“No, but I received a good scolding from my boss. She wants me to quit if I keep lagging. I can’t place the blame on her, but what can I do? I am so tired of everything!” I said, and my eyes filled up with tears.

“Hey! Don’t lose hope. Do you want me to come over and take care of you? Because I will. We can discuss your job and what you should do about it. And if money is an issue. You know I am here for you. How much do you want? You should quit your job and live with me.”

Money was not an issue for Becky Murray and her family. Her parents were multi-millionaires and paid for her every expense while their daughter struggled as a mediocre artist.

“Becky, I can’t burden you and your parents. I will work as long as I am healthy. Don’t worry. I will solve my issue at work,” I said.

“Okay, so then I guess I am coming over to cheer you up,” said Becky.

“No, please don’t. I have some unfinished articles to work on, and my boss needs them by seven. Would you do me one favor? I asked.

“Yes, yes, anything for you,” Becky eagerly answered.

“I want to meet your cousin Elaine in person and ask her about this Incubi situation. Can you arrange that?” I requested.

“Of course. In fact, I am going to Elaine's house for dinner tonight at 8. I can ask her and squeeze you in?” suggested Becky.

“Okay, sure. I think I can finish my work and make it by 8. Thanks, Becky, you’re the best!” I jump joyfully.

“Anything for you, dawg,” said Becky, and hung up.

I smiled at the air. That girl was the only good thing in my life. Becky was an angel sent from heaven to save me. I wouldn’t know what to do without her.

I had finished and submitted my articles a lot earlier than seven. At around eight past quarter, we arrived at Elaine’s house. Her place was a long drive from the city. I thought it was rude to be late for dinner. The food could have gotten cold. Becky, on the other, firmly believed that being fashionably late was classy.

Becky twirled in her little black dress, recording a Snapchat video while we waited at the door. She could slay in any dress with her glistening chocolate-brown complexion, gorgeous facial features, and thick curly hair.

That girl was different shades of crazy, classy, and generous.

The door opened, and we received a warm welcome into the house. Elaine was still the girl she used to be as our senior in high school. She was nerdy, intelligent, and not afraid to take risks.

Dinner was full of delectable food, and her fiance, Mike, was delightful. It wasn’t until after dinner and a long game of Monopoly that we got a chance to talk in private.

“Mike doesn’t know about my past with my Incubus,” began Elaine once we were alone.” I appreciate that you kept quiet before him.”

“You shouldn’t thank me for respecting your privacy. I am just glad to be here,” I said.

Elaine brushed her silky, straight hair with her fingers. Her features were mixed due to having a Black father and a White mother. “You know you shouldn’t worry, Cassidy. Becky told me about your disappointment. Contact at the first attempt is rare.”

“I did feel something. I don’t know if it was relevant or not. Something touched my thighs. The touch was electrifying and nothing like that of a human. Also, the window opened on its own,” I said.

“You’re sneaky, Cass!” Becky remarked.

Elaine smiled. “Congratulations, you have made first contact.”

“Are you sure I wasn’t imagining it?”I asked.

“Well, have you ever imagined it before?” Elaine crossed her legs.

“No,” I shook my head.

“Then you’re on the right track. Continue with the pendulum. The interactions shall grow stronger in a month,” said Elaine.

“But I am running out of time, Elaine!” I cried. “I am desperate. My family is in danger. My black magic-practicing aunt already took my father. She is now probably after my whole family. I don’t want to lose someone else.”

Elaine bit her lip. “I didn’t know that. I understand why you didn’t tell me. My family was also the victim of such magic. That’s why I did it.”

“What!” Becky exclaimed. “How come no one ever told me?”

“It was a long time ago. I already spooked you enough with the incubus story, so I didn’t want to give you another reason to be scared. Your mom knows,” said Elaine.

“How did you manage to break the spell on time?” I asked.

Elaine hesitated a bit. “See, when Becky asked me to help you, she said that your house was haunted, and no priest was successful in removing the entities. I gave you a slower and less intense method because you could change locations and figure out other options while exploring your Incubus. I, on the other hand, used a more intense practice.”

“I want that method immediately,” I said.

“Given your circumstances. I think you do, but you should really consider if you want it all to happen too fast. Sex with an incubus is not as exciting as you think. It can get too much too fast. You don’t want to have your brains fucked out without learning to be in their presence and getting used to their energy,” said Elaine.

“I am ready. My family needs me, and it’s not like I have a choice. Share with me the method, and I promise you I’ll be okay,” I said.

“Fine,” said Elaine, getting up from her seat. “If that’s what you want. Let’s dive deeper into the world of sex, spirits, and magic. Come to my energy room, and I will walk you through the process. Let's see if you would still be adamant about taking the quicker route after we're done talking.”

We followed Elaine into the attic. What I saw there was beyond my wildest imagination. The spacious area was full of mystical objects, candles, books, and more. It looked more like a witch’s workplace instead of an energy room. “Welcome to my energy room. You two are a few of the lucky ones who get to be here,” said Elaine, spreading her arms and smiling like it was her most prized possession. My eyes moved to Becky, whose jaw was so wide open that it could touch the ground. Clearly, she had never seen it before.“Why do you have all of this?” I asked.“I inherited it from my late mother. We are generational witches on my mother’s side. My mother made me promise on her deathbed to keep all of this safe and to carry on the tradition,” answered Elaine.Becky and I were taken aback in horror. My murderous aunt was also a witch!“Okay. You two are terrified. Let me tell you that we only practice spiritual and white magic. We are nothing like those blood witches who play with the dark arts

  • Under the incubus' protection   Chapter 4

My room looked something like a witch’s den with all the materials in place.A complicated sigil I had drawn with special black chalk on my bedroom floor caught my attention. It was round with many symbols and featured an image that was half-human and half-demon. It took me twenty minutes alone to copy it from Elaine’s chart. My drawing was terrible, but Elaine had mentioned that the spell's success didn’t rely on the quality of it.I glanced at my pendulum clock. It was 3:35. I had until 4 to finish the spell. The spell was to be performed naked. I was unsure how I felt about that, but it wasn’t like there would be any visible male eyes to ogle at my privates.I stripped down my clothes, tossing them onto the bed before entering the circle sigil. The floor felt cold against my bare buttocks. I looked at my reflection in the mirror I had placed before me. It was an ancient mirror with a rusty frame and intact glass. Elaine had said that the mirror was supercharged with magic. Accordin

“Stop!” I cried once more.It all went away at once. I could no longer feel it inside me. My eyes searched around for a clue. I lifted my tired body into a sitting position, shielding my breasts with sweaty hands. The mirror before me showed how red and sweaty my body was. Besides the physical evidence, it all felt unreal. Did I really have sex with an Incubus?I took the scroll into my hands, looking for a signature. There was nothing new there. The Incubus took advantage of me without signing it! What should I do? My thoughts landed on Elaine.I got up in a rush. “Ouch, Ouch!” My legs were aching so badly. I limped all the way to my phone to call Elaine. It was smart of me to ask for her number before leaving her house. Everything didn’t have to go through Becky first. I didn’t want to worry my best friend.Upon unlocking the phone, my eyes couldn’t believe the time. It was 8:00 am already! I looked at the window and saw the natural light peeking through the closed curtains. The sex

I drove for hours to get to my childhood home. Our suburban home was enormous and in a pleasant area, Wneebeach Springs. My younger sister Mia still lived there with Mom. I probably would have never left if it weren’t for my job in the city. The city of Bamcaster was as big as my dreams. My ultimate goal was to make it as a full-time fiction writer. I would have ditched an undergraduate program in creative writing to pursue my dreams earlier if it weren’t for my dad. He had pushed me to get a professional degree. He had promised me to take care of all my financial needs for as long as it took to achieve my dream. My dad was a dreamer. He didn’t believe in letting any of his loved one’s dreams die.I didn't plan on burdening him for years while I struggled as a writer, but it was nice to know I could rely on someone who truly believed in me.A tear rolled down my cheek, standing at the door of my late father’s home. He was my rock, and what I wouldn’t give to have him back in my life.

“Mom, what are you doing here?” I said after ending the call. She stormed toward me and snatched the phone from my hands. “Cassidy?” Mom tried to open my phone, but a code was protecting it. “How could you! Our family was broken by magic, yet you work with a witch. Do you not care about us at all?” She screamed at the top of her lungs. Tears of sorrow ran down her freckled cheeks as she pulled at her red hair.Mom was extremely unwell. It’s not okay to have extreme mood shifts within minutes.“No, Mom,“ I said, taking my phone back. “Elaine is a friend, and she only practices white magic.”“White magic is Devil’s worship in disguise. It’s unholy and unclean. Magic destroys lives and souls just like it did to our family,” said Mom. She was not ready to calm down or listen.“Okay, Mom,” I said, tossing my phone onto the bed. “Relax.”Mom grabbed me by the arms. “Promise me, Cassidy. Say that you would never go near any magic or witches. You must promise me.”Mom’s outrage was scaring m

  • Under the incubus' protection   Chapter 8

Back home, I was lying in bed thinking about the strange incident that occurred at the end of our date. I had to take Mason to the hospital as he complained about a burning sensation in his right arm. I thought he had a low threshold for pain until the nurse rolled up his sleeve, revealing a big, fresh burn mark. The doctor kept asking him how he got a second-degree burn, but he swore it wasn’t there before his fall on the street. It was bizarre. “Someone pushed me. My arm is burning.” His words spun in my head. Who pushed him? There was no one around. There wasn’t even a bush or tree around us for a person to hide.Mason went home, concluding he must have lost his balance and fell, but what about the mark? How could he have burnt himself with just a fall on concrete?Elaine’s warning was the only rational explanation for it. It must be a disturbance that I, as the summoner, was facing.I had already sent a text to Elaine explaining the whole incident. She and Mike must have been fed

I threw all the bloodstained clothes in the washer immediately. No matter what I did or used, the blood wouldn’t come out. I washed them multiple times before breaking into tears on the laundry room floor. My aunt had struck again. Her prey was Mom now! I was not going to let her take another parent from me. I decided to burn all her bloodstained clothes. But I need to talk to my siblings first.I wrapped the sinister doll in a cloth and put it in a bag to take to the hospital.“See this,” I said to my siblings, showing them the doll in Mom’s private hospital room. “Mom is not sick. Our aunt wants to end her!”“I’ll call a priest,” said Derrick, leaving the room.“What would we do now? A priest can’t break a spell. We’ll lose Mom.” Mia began sobbing uncontrollably.Despite my wet eyes and panicked heart, I wrapped my arms around her to comfort her. “I won’t let anything happen to our mother. If only magic can break magic, I have a plan.”I continued to tell her about Elaine, sex spir

The night was the hardest. Elaine and Becky had left after inquiring about Mom’s health and the doll a little more. I tossed and turned in bed. Too many questions were spinning in my head. What would I say to Mason? Was my incubus still watching me from the shadows? Would we share another steamy session that night? I was not in the mood for anything. My siblings had informed me that Mom was still unconscious. Nothing was wrong with her body. The doctors called it a case of an unexplained coma. My tensed body was ready to put out if the spirit asked for it. All I cared about and wished was for Mom to regain consciousness. Waiting for something to happen, I dozed off. The annoying sound of my blaring alarm woke me up. My hands turned it off, accidentally knocking it down. I sat up on my bed, rubbing on my heavy head. My body felt sore and unrested. I believed it to be a quick nap when my eyes noticed the daylight peeking through my curtains. “Shit!” I said, picking up the alarm cloc

Two months had gone by since the war at Voocrod. With Jane and Benedict out of our lives, things were back to normal, mostly. The loss of our father was irrevocable, but we were grateful to have each other. Mom’s emotions had gotten under control, and she was slowly returning to her old self. Desmond was now her favorite person in the world. She could barely have a family dinner without him. It made me so happy to see their unique bond.Mia was doing well, too. Her scars had healed, and she had met a wonderful guy a month ago. Things were going pretty well. Her new boyfriend, Jack, had become Mom’s second favorite, so we expected a lot from that relationship.Derrick’s life had changed drastically as well. He now believed in magic and demons and supported my relationship with Desmond. What shocked us the most was when he and Becky announced they were officially dating. Good for Becky! She was a sweetheart who had always done so much to help me and my family. I couldn’t wait to have h

“Help, help!” I threw my fists at the window panically. In the building’s empty parking lot, there was no one to hear my distress-filled screams. I tried the door handle again, but it wouldn’t budge.Benedict’s demons had me cornered. Nothing was off limits for them. The fact that Alistair was on the enemy’s side was a greater shock than finding Desmond’s truth. I believed Xolmon because he acted so normal. I should have known better. Why did I agree to meet him, knowing very well that demons could look and behave normally?“Save the screaming for when we torture you, girl,” Hepzibah, the demoness, taunted. Her sharp claws gripped my shoulders, pulling me out of my seat. I struggled and shrieked. Even though it was pointless, I called Desmond’s name. The monster of my nightmares had caught me. Who would save me now? He was the only one I trusted after God.As I was kicking my feet, everything became a blur. I could hear the demons snickering at me. It all faded slowly. I had passed ou

My heart throbbed with the clock’s second needle. It was around midnight. Desmond had left fifteen minutes ago for Voocrod, leaving me and my family at Becky’s apartment. The much-awaited final war had begun. I had begged him to take me with him, but he said it was too dangerous. “Humans suffer the most during spirit wars, Cass,” Desmond had said. “Fiends will not hesitate to spill innocent blood. Violence is entertainment for them. What I fear the most is them taking you hostage to hurt me. Your love is my strength and my weakness. It doesn’t matter how close we are to winning the war. I would drop everything and sacrifice myself to save you.”Now, I was forced to wait without updates. Desmond wasn’t the only one who cared. I cared about his safety, too. Resting on Becky’s couch, I prayed to God for our victory and to bring my demon back to me unharmed.Becky wasn’t there because she had to leave to see her grandmother because of a medical emergency. The water rapidly hit the rocks in a narrow stream. I watched it continuously flow. Nature is truly a miracle and the best way to refresh your mind. However, nothing can ease the anxiety of a current challenge. I couldn’t stop thinking about what Ophelia had said about not seeing a trapped child there. The war that was soon to come entailed death and imprisonment. What would I choose for my aunt when I wasn’t sure about her sins? Punishing an innocent would eat me up alive. There had to be a solution.“There is, Cass,” Desmond spoke. For the past five minutes, gushing water was the only sound around us. “I brought you here to clear your mind. Don’t punish yourself because of Jane.”With a lowered head, I walked up to Desmond. “I am sorry. Don’t you find this extremely troubling?”“No.” Desmond shook his head. “Because the solution is obvious.”“Which is what?” I said, desperate for anything.“Jane hasn’t given us any proof of her innocence. We don’t trust anyone,” Desmond began. I wa

I put a hand over my eyes, knowing very well that I could only conceal my face and not my thoughts from the two demons around me. How could I control my thoughts? For us humans, our minds and social media are the only two places to criticize safely. It was so unfair to have that taken away from you. I wished for the ground beneath to swallow me to save everyone from further embarrassment.“But I didn’t say anything, mother,” said Desmond. He must be trying to divert her attention from me. My boyfriend was very forgiving of my insulting thoughts. Was his mother the same? The lady opened her eyes to reveal the most striking golden eyes. The color was similar to Desmond’s siren irises, but they lacked the glow and appeared more natural. Her overall look reminded me of Rose from Titanic. She had red hair with the fairest skin and an elegant fashion sense.“You know I have a gift for this. You were about to introduce this beautiful human girl to me as your partner,” she spoke with a toothy

It was finally happening. Desmond’s tongue was so deep in my mouth that I could feel us becoming one. I didn’t want it to end. My mind couldn’t help but compare the kiss to the one I had shared with Charles. Kissing Charles was slobbery and warm. Whereas kissing Desmond was discovering infinite pleasures within your mouth while losing all control and touch with your surroundings. My feelings for my demon were just as massive as the difference between the two make-out sessions, which amplified the bliss even more.I liked how one of Desmond’s hands was still on my boob. He had already helped me explore the pleasures of my body in countless ways. Yet, I still wanted more. Not even an eternity locked and lost in his body could quench my thirst for him. I was addicted to him.Desmond’s hands traveled around my body, searching for more to grab and feel. With the same intention, I unzipped his jacket and slipped my hands underneath his shirt, feeling his soft skin and ripped body.“Cass, s

My eyes dropped to Desmond’s mouth, desperately waiting for a yes to come out of there. We had been apart for far too long, and only a few days away from him had felt like a million years of torture. All of Desmond’s lies and mistakes were forgiven and forgotten. His unusual appearance and true self became a part of me. Nothing mattered in that moment. My aching heart only sought solace in the man before me. He was the one. He had always been the one. The moment he walked into my life, no other man interested me. My knight in shining armor was perfect. His horns, wings, and tail were a bonus, not an unholy defect or curse. I wholeheartedly accepted and loved him exactly the way he was.Desmond was testing my patience with his silence. Deliberately, I filled my mind with passionate thoughts, letting him know how every inch of me longed for him. I could see the result of my experiment in his eyes. They looked back at me with amazement and a yearning more intense than mine.“Are you su

Standing close to the guest room window, I felt the chilly city air fan my face. Without a blanket over my shoulders, I would freeze to death. I watched the sparkling city lights and the never-ending sounds. It was two in the morning, and the streets were full of life. I would have found the scene enjoyable if my mind wasn’t troubled by a hundred different emotions. Thanks to Becky for having a three-bedroom apartment so I could have a separate guest room. That day’s events were bizarre and too overwhelming. My mind was all over the place, and I needed time to rearrange my thoughts and think of my next step.“Can I come inside?” Desmond knocked at the ajar door.“Yes, please,” I said, repositioning my blanket more fashionably. The most dominant thoughts in my mind were about Desmond. There was so much that needed to be said.Desmond walked inside, closing the door behind him. My eyes remained glued to the window. I huffed and closed my hands into tight fists, almost piercing my skin with my sharp nails.“Cass, we’re back,” Desmond’s voice confirmed my fear.I turned around with partially opened eyes, prepared to face the wrath of my mother. Mom was unconscious in Desmond’s arms, and Becky was shocked beyond words.“Oh my God!” Becky’s jaw was almost touching the floor, and her eyes were twitching in a concerning way. “Am I magic now? Do the rules of the real world apply to me anymore, or am I now a boundless spirit floating in this never-ending universe we call life?”“None of that. You flew here at an extraordinary speed with me. The rules remain the same.” Desmond burst Becky’s bubble.Becky stared at Desmond like he was an alien or an unbelievable illusion. “I still can’t believe you are real. Cassidy must be hallucinating.
