There were a few things I did not expect to happen on this journey, among them was my believing in the supernatural. Not just that, but finding myself wanting to spend my life with one of them. And yet here I was allowing one of the oldest creatures to kiss me in such a way that it sparked something much more passionate in me.

Rakesh had made short work of the shirt I had worn for the party and used it to keep my hands above my head. I hardly minded. His own waistcoat haphazardly had been thrown to join mine on the chair and yet he was still mostly dressed otherwise. He seemed far more focused on my own needs as he trailed his cold kisses down my chest and each kiss tickled against my skin.

I bit my lower lip in order to try and stifle a pleased moan from escaping my lips. Edward might have known about the bond, but that did not mean to say that I was comfortable with him hearing me enjoying myself under Rakesh's teasing touches. I glanced down at him, my cheek

I seemed to find my confidence with each pleased little moan that escaped Rakesh's lips as I took his erect penis into my mouth. I was nervous at first, unsure how far I would be able to take such a large thing into it but after a while, I stopped overthinking things and just enjoyed it for myself. Rakesh didn't seem in much of a hurry to force me into situations that I wasn't prepared for, which was sweet of him. For such an older-lived man with a smug attitude, he was actually pretty gentle and thoughtful."Kayden," his words sounded out softly which caused me to moan happily, my voice vibrating around his shaft which only caused his dick to twitch. After a moment he guided my head away and peered down at me with those beautiful silvery eyes.I cocked my head to the side, I couldn't read his mind, but I could tell it wasn't because he had blocked me out. I smiled after a moment as I realised he was close to finding his release. He was just reacting without th

  • Under the Pale Moon   Shower Thoughts

It was late afternoon by the time I finally woke up. Rakesh was still sleeping curled up into my chest and he looked almost like an angel. I smiled to myself as I watched him for a few seconds and then leaned in for a gentle kiss on his forehead. How beautiful he looked even with his lion-like mane spread here, there and everywhere.I heard the penthouse door click as someone entered. I gathered it must be my grandfather returning home from work. I had originally wanted to wake up before then to shower. It would have been less awkward. Alas, I had slept soundly and although I felt great for it, I now had to do the walk of shame to the bathroom.I waited a few moments, grabbed some clean clothes and put on my boxers so that I wasn't completely naked going out. I decided on a pair of shorts and a tank top with a picture of a cute cartoon fox on it. It was going to be a very warm afternoon and evening and I could always add a jacket or something if I did get cold

  • Under the Pale Moon   The Return of the Vampire

As soon as the sun was low enough to be comfortable for Rakesh to go outside without his skin burning, he and I left the hotel in search of some trouble. My grandfather was uneasy about the idea of seeing what abilities I may or may not have, but Rakesh assured him that I would be safe as long as we didn't bring too much attention to ourselves. I realised that it wasn't just some supernatural beings I had to worry about now, but Hunters as well.We stuck to the more crowded streets if only to not bring too much attention to ourselves, though with how well known Rakesh was, that wasn't always possible. After the sun had set and darkness began to set into the sky, we ran into that blond vampire I had met the previous night before. He kept his head lowered respectfully towards Rakesh and me, though whenever he glanced at me, I could tell he was just as confused as he had been before.I folded my arms and glanced towards Rakesh, wondering what kind of re

  • Under the Pale Moon   The Mind is a Loud Place

We found a busy pub nearby the hotel to hunker down into. It was full of men and women who were there to get drunk and socialize. I wasn't much into either unless it was for special occasions but training technically was one of those.Lee, being a vampire had no desire to drink. Rakesh ordered himself a beer and me a cider, though I admit, I preferred something more flavourful if I was going to drink but the idea wasn't to get drunk or have fun, it was to train so I didn't complain all that much. It would make the illusion that we were just another group of friends out on the town, so to speak."There aren't any other vampires here," Lee spoke quietly between the three of us, "so it should be safe enough for you to train on the humans right now, my lords." He seemed to be rather calm and collected but I could tell that he was slightly uneasy. "Though be wary, Hunters could still be among these people.""Isn't there a way to tell?" I asked, I was curi

Lee and the two men vanished for a bit before the next step of training was to go underway. I had wondered where they had gone but after a moment, I sensed something I wasn't expecting to ever feel wash over my mind."Ah, Lee cannot block me out, just as you cannot," Rakesh explained with amusement. Lee had made a nice meal out of the two men and although he hadn't killed them, they were not far from death and I had felt every second of it."And what if he feels my thoughts and feelings?" I asked, trying my best to not look or act as though I was going to be sick.Rakesh laughed softly. "I cut you off from him, so need not worry, ah, this time I did so gently and slowly, so that is why you felt nothing," he added knowing I would only ask if he did not. "Lee only hunts those who would do evil deeds, some sort of moral sense of justice he has I believe.""Right," I said, trying to push the experience into the far reaches of my mind. "I'm gla

As we left the now-closing pub, Lee suggested that we try once more to project thoughts onto some humans, but with how quickly it was becoming deserted, we figured we would also learn how to mask our presence from those we stalked.Naturally, I was amazing at it... and by that, I mean I got a nice bag to the face as a woman noticed me easily and although I had no impure intentions, she understandably was not happy about being followed.Rakesh found it amusing, to the point that he was keeled over laughing."My lord, are you sure you've merely forgotten and are not just... the worst Ancient One I have ever seen?" Lee asked, his voice was serious but that only seemed to make Rakesh laugh all the more.I shot the two a glare before rubbing my cheek. "Yes, yes, laugh it up, I might just go back to that rock and sleep for another thousand years," I muttered unhappily.Lee shook his head slowly. "If you were newly turned, I could see

  • Under the Pale Moon   As Sweet as You

After sharing a rather desperate kiss, Rakesh pulled away from me and let out a heavy sigh. I knew he was worried, but sooner or later we would run into his sister to save my parents. It was inevitable."I wish there was another way, maybe it is not too late to drag the Hunters into this, but then that risks you as much, if not more and..." Rakesh trailed off, looking off to one side. I tried my best to soothe his fears with a gentle stroke to his cheek.I placed a soft kiss on Rakesh's forehead and then, softly placed my arms around him, drawing him back into my arms. "It is going to be fine, Rakesh. Keep worrying too much like this and you'll get wrinkles on that old face of yours," I teased gently."Very funny," he replied with some amount of huffiness to his voice. He looked into my eyes and smiled softly at me. "Is it selfish of me to wish I could just leave your parents behind and run away with you instead?""Yes it would be," I said

  • Under the Pale Moon   Just a Little Girl

I stepped into the small convenience shop and began to gather a few bits and pieces to snack on. It was quite empty at this time of the morning and the overnight staff looked like they wished to be anywhere else except here. I had a summer job as a kid and knew that feeling so well. I hoped to be in and out quickly so that they could go back to spacing out, or stocking shelves, or whatever they had been doing before I entered.I grabbed some crisps, a chocolate bar and a sandwich as well as a pack of sweets and mints to enjoy while walking around on our travels. I mulled over the drinks next when I felt a little tug to my arm. I glanced back, not expecting anyone else in the shop since I hadn't heard anyone come in at all. Before me, a young girl stood there beaming a smile up at me. I guessed she was about six or seven years old. Why was such a young girl in the store, I wondered? Her long blonde hair was left loose to fall to her knees and fell in angelic curls. She

  • Under the Pale Moon   The Epilogue

A month passed by quickly. My grandfather Edward had been convinced to come to where we were and was rather glad that I was well though he was shocked when he learned the truth of everything. He worried about the other side of my family not accepting me anymore, but otherwise, he was happy to stay with us for a few weeks to help. He and Tudyr seemed to get along well.Eris and DJay had bonded and had started a relationship much to the joy of most of the supernatural beings that had belonged to the group. Only the other Ancient Ones and vampires from the red-eyed family were not fully accepting of the match, but they were well aware they couldn't hassle the pair. Tudyr was very firm about that.Tudyr, of course, bonded with Eris making him the official leader. Their relationship wasn't great but Eris settled down after a couple of days. Though she held her usual spark whenever she disagreed with something he said or did. The two were almost like an old married c

  • Under the Pale Moon   The Bonds that Tie

With Rakesh's fate as my lover sealed, the only thing left was to decide what to do with Eris. Had she not over-taken Rakesh for the leader position when he became unable - it would have meant I would have been the new leader in joint with Rakesh. However, because they had swapped positions, this meant she would need to either bond with me or Tudyr. She was unhappy with either outcome as Tudyr expected. Rakesh didn't want to share me with yet another person and I was not willing to go against Rakesh's wishes but at the same time, I wasn't about to force Eris into bonding with Tudyr if it made her uncomfortable and if it would be easier for her to bond with me.Being Tudyr's second meant that he was a little more lenient and willing to let me take charge of this group of misfits but of course, we were going to let Eris make the choice. Personally, I didn't much care to lead, I just wanted to make sure the fighting was over."I don't want to share him,

Eris was surprised to see Rakesh and me enter through the door and in one piece and without an escort. She stopped yelling and marched over to us. Rakesh hid behind me and clung tighter to my shoulders. It was an awkward sight with him being taller than me but I did my best not to laugh. He was genuinely nervous.I gave Eris a small look of warning, it was gentle but commanding enough that she paused in her steps once she got close enough to me. She hesitated, noticing the change in my blood right away. She opened her lips to speak but found herself unable to bring herself to scold us.I looked over to Tudyr who was sitting at Eris' desk with a rather professional look on his face. He nodded at me in greeting and then waited expectantly for us to come further inside the office. It was a command regardless if it had been said or not and thus, I moved over to where the chairs were placed across the desk and facing Tudyr.Rakesh followed me, unwilling t

  • Under the Pale Moon   Never Alone

A while had passed from when Rakesh and I had reaffirmed our bond and he was curled up in my arms, happily resting in my company. We were merely enjoying being near each other again after what seemed like forever. I wasn't even sure how long it had actually been since we had seen one another.I briefly worried about how my grandparents and Rem had not been in contact with me, let alone poor Eddie, for as long. I hoped they would not think this was Rakesh's fault or think I had failed and been killed. Curious, I sent a message to Tudyr about it.'Are you sure it is wise to keep in contact with Hunters? You are no longer human enough for them to care,' he replied through the mind.Rakesh wiggled his nose in annoyance. He still wasn't happy to share me, but he didn't complain. I kissed his forehead in reassurance.'They're my family, if I don't let them know I am well, they will probably gather up the Hunters to come and find me. I don't know

  • Under the Pale Moon   Near to You

After giving Rakesh some time to take in all of the information I had tossed on top of him, we laid on his cot in near silence. He couldn't remember hurting anyone or feasting on flesh and part of him didn't want to remember it. There were so many thoughts running through his mind but he couldn't find the answers to any of them just yet."It'll be alright, probably," I offered as I felt his mind fretting again. "I mean, Tudyr isn't going to kill us, just bring us into his fold, so things could be a lot worse, right?" I gave Rakesh a small smile."Only because of dumb luck that you're of his blood. Though in truth, I am surprised he wants you, you not being fully blooded..." Rakesh trailed off. "Or are you now? Though now I wonder why did my blood not do that for you?"I looked up thoughtfully. Tudyr wasn't exactly invading my mind at all as he had wanted to give me and Rakesh space - but that didn't mean he had blocked himself out of my thoughts. I s

  • Under the Pale Moon   Sleeping Beauty Awakens

With everything I had gone through lately, I was exhausted. It didn't matter if I had been unconscious for a while, that wasn't exactly resting. I watched Rakesh from where I laid on my cot. He seemed peaceful despite the fact that he had also been through so much.I reached out to him with my mind and although I didn't get a worded reply, there was a sense of warmth that surrounded me as Rakesh sensed me. That was enough to soothe my fears and the feelings of being isolated from him for so long finally seemed to melt away and I could truly relax and bathe in the bond we shared.I fell asleep listening to the beating of hearts inside my mind. It was still strange that I could sense it no matter where the bonded one was, but it was even stranger now that there were three of them. Still, it was a relaxing sound and quite the lullaby to listen to.A few hours must have ticked by as I sensed Rakesh stirring awake. My own eyes flickered open and I slowly

The beating of my heart was loud and swift in my chest as I felt Tudyr's fingers tickle my neck while he brushed my hair out of his way. My eyes closed and my head tilted slightly to the side as I anxiously anticipated him feasting on my blood. It wasn't a sexual experience like it had been with Rakesh, but it was still somehow exciting to me.We were already somewhat bonded due to the family blood we shared, but this was much more than just a vague feeling. It felt as though my whole body was aching for us to be fully bonded. I wondered if it was indeed just this reason why it felt so right? Or maybe it was more a servant and master connection? In the end, I guessed it didn't matter too much. I had agreed to share a bond with Tudyr.I let out a pleased sound from my throat as I felt his fangs pierce the skin of my neck. That familiar sound of two hearts joining and beating as one echoed through my ears and mind. The sound was lo

Tudyr watched me painfully mull over my options which only made me feel further pressured. Finally, I asked, my fingers holding onto my neck tightly, "what if I say no? What would happen to them?""I have no use for families that do not submit to the First," Tudyr said harshly but with no malice within his voice. "I will spare your life, only because you are one of mine, but like those of the red-eyes, Rakesh and his sister must submit or they will die.""And why do you need me for that? You could just ask them yourself..." I uttered, glancing away.Tudyr gave me a long look before he replied, "Eris will never submit and Rakesh has bonded with you, I cannot force him into anything without your permission. The same was true for Eris with you and him, is that not correct?"I gave a thoughtful frown and then nodded slowly. "I thought that was for all Ancient Ones... but you said... my blood was your right?" I looked back to Tudyr with the sam
