Carefully, we stalked behind Ken and Sam as they made their way to what was a Maze of sorts. Rem had given them directions through the mind-link to ensure they hadn’t got lost while placing the ball within. I was surprised this place even existed, but I hadn’t explored every bit of the garden, and even now, there were other areas we hadn’t seen.
Carefully, we stayed a respectful distance away from the two as they followed the boy about. We planned to get the boy to sneak under one bush and over to another part of the maze without those two seeing him, then one of the older kids who we had placed there would lead him back out safely. That way, we could continue to monitor Ken and Sam’s progress.
The first part of Plan B was simple enough that it went rather well. As soon as we neared the right spot, the kid ran on ahead, much to Sam’s protests, but by the time they had caught up and rounded the corner, the kid had gone. Through the mind-link, th
Sorry for the delay on the next few chapters! I couldn't get working net constantly while on holiday, but I did write 3 chapters while away. Here's the first one, just need to edit and fix up the other two, so posts will be going back to normal now, more or less! Thank you for your understanding!
It took little time for Rem to do what I had asked him to do, and although confused, Ken continued to lead Sam and himself through the maze by following the few tracks that had been placed here and there. Rem removed any of his own tracks as he went. Meanwhile, Sam and Ken both called out for the young boy, but with no reply, they were worried if they had really got lost or if they had made it out already. We were nearing the centre of the maze now, and from what Rem had told me, was quite a beautiful sight, perfect for two people to find themselves alone. As the two rounded a corner, I paused and listened intently to make sure they weren’t about to double back or halt. When I was sure they had continued, I carefully snuck my head around the corner and took a sneaky glance.Perfect. They were heading straight for the centre, which would be around the next corner. Rem would head back out of the maze from there. The exit was easy enough to fi
Back in the training yard, Ken was giving me a squinted look, as though he was indirectly letting me know he was on to me and my little game of hide and seek with the ball and the picnic. I offered him an innocent smile but returned my attention to Marrok and Lupe.“Now,” I said as I glanced between the two. “You’ll both need to have a better handle on transforming than the younger ones, though from what I saw when the whole pack transformed last, it wasn’t too much of an issue for you both, right?” I asked with a smile.“Not an issue at all, though it hurt like nothing I ever felt before,” Marrok admitted and then rubbed his neck.Lupe nodded in agreement. “Elder Sera said it would, but I never thought she was right,” she chimed in. “Though it was nice to speak with my wolf for the first time, so that was worth it,” she continued, bouncing on the back of her heels in
The rest of the phone call went as well as could be expected. I had convinced my mother to speak to the supernatural beings there, but more importantly, she agreed to get hold of the leader and ask her for aid to be sent our way. I didn’t expect the entire building’s worth of supernatural beings, but I hoped she would at least agree to send some werewolves or something. From here on out, it would be a waiting game. I was popular enough with most of the werewolves there and many of the younger supernatural beings that I believed some would listen to my request for aid. Though with how much suffering some of them had been through at the hands of other Hunters, I wasn’t too certain some of them would, even if the request came from me.Rem had been quiet about his friend. He had left the packhouse and stormed back to the main mansion. I had followed as quickly behind him as I could, worried he was going to tel
I watched Rem carefully as his breathing quickened with each breath of his. He seemed to fight something at first, likely the spirit from taking over, I imagined. With a shake of his head, Rem closed his eyes and took a step out of my grip and held his hands over his ears. I blinked and hesitantly reached out to touch him. “Don’t…” he whispered, though I couldn’t tell if he directed that at me or the spirit within. I still heard nothing in Rem’s mind to suggest he had a wolf in there. “Rem?” I called out to him, worry crossing my features now. My heat seemed to cool off as my emotions shifted from one to the other. “Are you… alright?” I questioned. I paused my hands in the air in a torn stance on if I should embrace Rem or withdraw. There was silence for a moment before Rem’s gaze lifted back up to me. His breathing was still heavy, but he seemed to find himself again as his eyes and teeth slowly shifted back to normal. He lower
When I had told Rem that being a werewolf meant I could take being roughly handled, I hadn’t expected him to be as rough with me as he had been last night. My whole back and lower half were sore and tired from the night of passion. He had left me totally exhausted, yet strangely satisfied despite that.I could hear the pitter-patter of rain outside on the bedroom window and, groggily, I found my phone to look at the time. It wasn’t even six in the morning yet. I groaned and turned back towards Rem, who was still completely out of it. If I felt this tired, I wondered if he did too? From the look on his face, he seemed very pleased with himself, even in his dreams.I couldn’t help myself. I wanted to touch every inch of his beautiful face. My fingers gently brushed away some of the blue strands of hair out of his face and made sure he wasn’t eating any of it. I smiled to myself at the thought of Rem re
When Rem had told me we would drive to London and be not taking the bus or train, I couldn’t contain my excitement to learn something new about him. I did not know Rem had a driver’s licence, nor that he had his own car. Sure, the car was actually for Hunter work, but that didn’t matter to me. I was just happy to know it would be just me and Rem together. No strangers. Not to mention with the ability to drive, this meant we could cover more ground quicker than waiting on public transport. However, I also couldn’t help but wonder at all the places we could go together on dates.“This is for Hunter work only,” Rem muttered aside to me, though kept his attention on the road ahead. “Not to be used for pleasure…” he continued, having heard my thoughts through the mind-link.I stuck my tongue out at him playfully before going back to looking over the inside of the car and all the gadgets it
If the home of Rem’s grandmother was a mansion, the home of Rem’s parents was a palace! It sat on the city's outskirts, and a tall protective fence surrounded the entire area surrounding it! We were let in easily enough as Rem’s car had the controls for the gates. Once inside, we were greeted by many butlers and maids. They seemed to offer Rem all the respect in the world as they offered their bows and curtseys upon greeting him.Without blinking an eye, Rem continued on his way until he got to the oldest of the butlers. “Seb, are my parents’ home?” He questioned.“No, sir, though your mother is due to return within the hour,” the man named Seb replied. He had greying black hair that was brushed back neatly and a pair of smart spectacles. He wore a smart suit and held himself in a rather formal position. From the surrounding smells, I could tell that none of these people was a Hunter. They di
It had been about half an hour since we had arrived here and had researched the local supernatural populace. Seb had come with the required tea and biscuits and had left again just as quickly. Rem was in full work mode and I was happily helping him. That was when I heard the quick click-clack sound of heels on wooden flooring. Someone, a woman, was racing in our direction. I heard her before Rem was even aware she had entered the library. I looked up towards the open doorway of the hidden room and waited. “What’s wrong?” Rem asked though he didn’t take his eyes off of the notes he was going over. However, before I could say anything at all, the high-pitched squealing of a woman echoed out into the library. “Rath!” Rem flinched. I blinked as a tall woman in heels almost skidded around the corner and peered right at me. She had long blonde hair, which fell in natural twirls. Her eyes were that wonderful bright blue, which
