Chapter Twenty One

The shadows in the cave seemed to close in around Aiden and Declan, their wolf senses on high alert. The damp air clung to their skin, a constant reminder of the elusive prey they pursued.

Aiden ran a hand through his dark hair, frustration etched in the furrow of his brow. "We've searched every inch of this place, and still nothing. Not a single trace of her scent." His piercing blue eyes narrowed, the weight of his responsibility as alpha evident in their depth.

Declan placed a reassuring hand on his twin's shoulder, his usual playful demeanour subdued by the gravity of their situation. "Don't worry, brother. We'll find her. She couldn't have just vanished into thin air." His gaze swept the cavernous space, searching for any overlooked clue.

Aiden's jaw tightened, the muscles in his neck corded with tension. "I should have been there to protect her. As the alpha, it's my duty to keep our pack safe." His fingers clenched into fists, the guilt weighing heavily on his conscience.
