When Xavier had been healthy and fine, Yvette had left him secretly. Now that he was blind, she was bold enough to tell him that she wanted to leave. He wondered if she thought he couldn't do anything about it anymore.

He immediately loosened his grip a little. "I'm not agreeing to it."

"I can compensate you by clearing part of your debt. Think of it as compensation for the accident," she continued. After all, he had protected her with his own body when the accident had happened.
