Yvette's eyes were shut tightly, and her body trembled slightly. Xavier's hand froze, and he stopped what he was doing when he realized that she wasn't asleep at all. Her forehead was covered in sweat. Seeing how he had stopped, she let out a breath of relief.

Despite holding her, Xavier still couldn't sleep. So, he decided to get out of bed and go outside.

When Yvette woke up in the morning, he wasn't by her side anymore. Everything that had happened the previous night felt like a dream. She didn't care about it and went to wash herself up.

She tried her best to compose herself in front of the mirror before leaving the bedroom.

The door to the study room was open. When Yvette passed by it, she saw Xavier sitting on the office chair. He was back to his cold self as he went over some documents.
