Agnes POV

I ran profusely through the woods as though my life depended on it, it kinda did, given that i was been chased down by soldiers with swords and wolves, i ran as fast as my legs could carry me but my legs couldn’t take me far enough as i kept tripping, falling and getting up again, what made it even worse was that i was carrying a basket with a child in it, my newborn child, the guards didn’t relent as they used the wolves to their full disposal sniffing down their target.

“By order of the one true king, ruler of all English empire, king Crowell, I order you to turn yourself in” one of the guards said in a loud voice which echoed through the empty woods. They guards seemed to have lost their tracks for a while and wanted to use threats to snuff their target out.

Meanwhile, after running for so long, I took refugee under a tree which opening looked like that of a cave, but as I attempted to use stealth and stay alive, before me was another problem, a more disturbing one at most, a very poisonous snake crawled it’s way under the tree, curling and weaving slowing toward me and my child,

I kept on leaning backwards with the basket until there was no more space, trying to avoid the snake hoping it will eventually leave, I stared straight into the eyes of the serpent with out blinking

“Praecipio tibi... Praecipio tibi...” I said in a slow voice trying to charm the serpent, but it seemed like the reptile became furious with my attempts to enchant him, the serpent hissed angrily and even attempted to strike me twice but i managed to move out of the serpents line of attack, but the serpent third attempt almost hit my child in the basket, just a whisker away from the baby’s leg, this made my baby cry out and drawing attention towards us, but the serpent won’t just go away, it curls 360 degrees to face his preys once again but this time he bolsters his body sucking more poison to his head as he prepared to land his final fatal blow

“ardeat in cinerem, creatura tenebrarum” i said with an intense look on my face, cursing him, my eyes turned from baby blue to golden brown as i cast the spell and out of nowhere excruciating hot flames burned through the serpent skin thoroughly until it laid there dead with hot steamed vapor torn through his ablazed skin.

But the out cry of the child already gave us away and we had to move because the guards were on our tail once again

“Over here !!!” One of the guards shouted. As he led the rest of the guards to right path

I took a deep breath and pick the basket up taking to my heels again hastily accelerating through the woods as the wolves perambulated the woods in search of us, the were getting closer and I could feel it. I turned towards the direction which i heard the wolves howling from.

“dii celi ... deus celi protege servum tuum et seduce inimicos meos” I spoke calmly while stretching my hands towards the direction of the wolves. It wasn’t long until the woods was filled with Mountain Dew and fog which made the woods cloudy and made the wolves halt for a while as they could not continue to trace me with the deception i had just pulled off.

The wolves howled and halted, it seemed they were a bit confused and had lost their way, the guards struggled to keep the wolves under their control,

“ Bloody witches with stupid tricks up their sleeves” One of the guards complained

But one of the wolves has sniffed his way into seeing a piece of cloth covered in blood lying on top of a twig, the wolf gnashed his teeth as he sniffed the piece of cloth continuously and barked even more aggressively before dash forward and pulling the guard which was holding his chains.

“Over here!!!” the guard shouted. The other guards followed his lead

I met a dead end seeing the deep dark sea ahead of me, i pouted as i saw that the guards were closing in on me and i had to make a hard choice. I placed the basket of the river banks while weeping profusely, she rips out her necklace which had an acronym “A” and placed it in the basket then, I took a few steps backward and stretched out my hands

“Antiquum, dii maris, finis meus prope est, sed hunc puerum crudeli morte me similem ne desere, da ei bonam vitam ab omni LICENTIA.”

I chanted fiercely with her hands stretched out, I needed this spell to work flawlessly my child’s life depended on it, at first it seemed like the effort I was putting in was not enough, with tears in my eyes, I tried to concentrate,

I knew this was the only way, the wind blew across the woods intensely carrying dead leaves from trees and tree branches, the wind blew in a circular like motion, once again my eyes changed colors from blue to gold but this time it lasted a while longer, the basket began to float on water like a well constructed canon but with super engines as it swiftly went out sight in less than no time, this spell weakened me so much

I fell to her knees weakened by the spell i had just casted, still in tears drowned in sorrow and agony just then the guards caught up to her and surrounded her with the wolves

My first instinct was to fight back cause I knew I wouldn’t make it out alive but one of the guards spoke out

“By order of King Crowell, you are under arrest on accusations of witchcraft and sorcery, you will have to follow us to the kings castle, where you will be under trial, resist and we will be forced to kill you on this spot” One of the senior guards spoke out as his men approached her with caution.

I was buying his propaganda of a trial, I tried getting up to my feet but it was too late

As soon as they got close enough, i was struck down with a wooden like pole aimed straight at the back of my head, an attempt to incapacitate me which worked so fine as i slumped to the ground with my blood drizzling all over her white cloth. I was chained and dragged, i kept falling all over the place, i was almost unconscious and had no idea what was going on around me.

“ Your magic is of no use now innit?” One of the guards mocked me before whipping me with the lash he had under his belt. I fell to my feet once again sobbing softly

“Cmon don’t be pale now, conjure a dinosaur to come save you” another guard said as they all laughed.

As we wandered through the woods, the soft rustling of leaves beneath our feet provided a rhythm to our journey. The moonlight filtered through the thick canopy above, casting intricate patterns on the forest floor. I could sense the weight of Cain's curiosity, and I knew it was time to share the truth with him."Cain," I began, my voice tinged with both sadness and determination, "there's something I haven't told you. King Crowell's men are hunting me because they believe I killed his father with witchcraft."His eyes widened with surprise, and he turned to look at me, his expression a mix of concern and disbelief. "Killed? But why would they think that?"I took a deep breath, bracing myself to reveal my secrets to him. "I come from a long line of powerful sorcerers," I explained. "My family possessed ancient magic that has been passed down through generations. But when a baby was born, I knew she would be in danger because of our legacy. I couldn’t stay away,” I replied, a soft smile playing on my lips.He chuckled softly, wincing slightly at the movement. “I guess the tables have turned,” he said playfully. “Now you’re the one nursing me back to health.”I couldn’t help but laugh. “Yes, it seems that way. But you were so brave out there, protecting me from that boar. I owe you my life.”Cain’s expression softened, and he reached out to take my hand. “You don’t owe me anything, Agnes. I would do it all over again, without hesitation.”His touch sent a jolt of warmth through me, and I squeezed his hand gently. “Thank you,” I whispered, my voic
