Chapter 146

Something about Theodore’s story doesn't add up. Why would a private investigator be so concerned about the safety of a complete stranger? And why is he telling him all this in a dark alleyway, rather than in a more public place? Suddenly, a thought occurs to him. Could Theodore be the one who's putting him in danger? Is he trying to lure him into a trap? As these thoughts race through his mind, he wonders what to do next.

"Sebastian says, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by 'danger'. Can you tell me more about what you've been investigating?" Theodore nods, as if expecting this question. "Of course, but let's move to a more comfortable place first. Can we go to a coffee shop and talk there?"

He's offered to take Sebastian to a coffee shop to tell him more about his investigation, but he’s still feeling skeptical. Sebastian trying to decide what to do when suddenly, a police car pulls up next to him. A police officer rolls down the window and asks, "Is everything okay here?"
