LOGINChapter Two
Rina. "Y..you?" Her hands shook with rage as she took a step closer to the bed "what's going on? What the hell are you doing in my husband's room?!" Her fists clenched as she glared at Rina and remembered how Laura had admonished her to keep Rina away from her grandson. And now, Damien had gone and brought her into their home. She had failed Laura. Rina stared at Lana mischievously, her rosy pink lips curving into a smirk. Lana's palm itched to wipe that smirk off her face. She looked around the room, taking in the sight, slowly. The room was dimly lit from the chandelier above, which cast a faint glow around the room. Rina's hair looked disheveled and her complexion was flushed. There were clothes strewn about the floor of the room and a faint musty smell hung in the air. As Lana tried to make her brain understand whatever it is that was going on, Damien walked out of the bathroom. His golden locks, was wet and stuck to his forehead. He stopped when he saw Lana and his face darkened with a huge frown "What the hell do you think you're doing in here?" He growled and immediately Rina heard his voice, she ran to him and gave him a tight embrace, her entire body shaking, seemingly from fear. "Dami, I'm scared!" Lana felt like vomiting as she watched Damien's arms go round Rina in a tight embrace. He looked down into her face as he mumbled softly, "It's okay, I'm here. Don't be scared" he kissed the top of her head and the smile disappeared from his face as he glanced up back at Lana. He failed to see the sinister smile which Rina was giving Lana as she rubbed her cheeks against his hard chest. "Damien" Lana closed her eyes, in an effort to remain calm but it was very hard "What's she doing here?." "That's none of your fricking business! Get out of my room!" Damien still held on to Rina as though she was a little child, scared of the noise. "I want her out of my house this instant!" Lana retaliated, her voice shaking with emotion as she took another step forward " I will not have your little mistress under my roof!." Something flashed before her eyes and before she could realize it, Damien's hard palm had landed on her face. Twang! Lana reeled from the force of the slap and she landed on the floor, stunned. She reached to touch her reddened cheeks with trembling hands, and her eyes stung with unshed tears as she looked up at Damien who was glaring at her on the floor. His chest was heaving as he tried to calm down. "Don't you dare call her that, you conniving bitch!" He pointed a finger at her and almost spat at her "I've had enough of you. Your face makes me sick. You disgust me, Lana, just fricking go to hell!." Lana could see Rina standing behind him, her hands over her mouth seemingly in shock but her eyes were filled with glee. She was definitely enjoying the show and the look on her face was enough for Lana. She shakily stood up, determined never to back down in front of them. "Hell?! I'll make you see hell if you don't get that bitch out of my house!" She fired back, standing her ground although she was trembling all over from the emotions which were choking her Damien smirked, and his beautiful eyes glittered with disdain. "What are you going to do?" He walked back to Rina and gently led her to the bed. She continued hugging him, even though they were sitting. "Run to my grandma? To deceive her all the more?! Too bad she's out of the country. At least she won't get to see your conniving and hateful face!" "What are you talking about?" Lana was shaking with anger and she could not fathom what Damien was saying. She also could not stand Lana caressing her husband's chest. 'I said, get this bitch out!" At this, Damien stood up and walked to his desk and pressed a button. Soon, a guard appeared. "Ma'am, please come with me" The guard's eyes were apologetic as he held on to Lana's arm trying to lead her out but she shrugged out of his grip. "I said, get out!" She walked towards Rina and grabbed her arm, ready to throw her out. Rina shrieked, calling out to Damien, and Damien immediately pushed Lana to the floor again, cradling Rina in his arms. Lana fell to the floor, her abdomen suddenly on fire. She clutched her stomach and gasped loudly. "Get her out of my house! I do not want to see her face!" Damien thundered at the guard who immediately sprang into action, and roughly dragged Lana outside. Lana was limp with the pain and when the guard unceremoniously dumped her in front of the house, she called for her driver immediately. "Diego...to the hospital, quick" Lana gasped as the driver immediately placed her in the car, before hurrying to start the engine. She could not let anything happen to her baby. Lana's whole body was engulfed with pain but it was not like the aching in her heart. Her eyes stung with tears which spilled over and rolled down her cheeks She wailed, unmindful of the driver who looked at her in distress. "Ma'am, please stop crying, everything would be o...oh shit!" Diego yelled suddenly as a huge dump truck came at the car from a side road. He swerved sharply to avoid an impact and the car was thrown off the road and it careened straight into a tree by the side of the road. And then, there was a deafening silence. Before the car crashed into the tree, Lana was already unconscious, her head on the headrest in front of her. Slowly, blood trickled down her legs, staining her white dress and the seat which she sat on.Chapter Five Hundred And Forty-NineMaya swallowed hard at that statement. She could hear the raw anger in Zaire’s voice and wondered if she had actually pushed him too far.Her brow furrowed into a frown the next moment, and she scoffed loudly in disdain, “I told you, you can’t do anything more than a dead rat at this time, Zaire.” She uttered, “I’m about to crazy here because I don’t know what to do and you’re going on and on about not pushing you?!” She scoffed, “Perhaps it’s you who shouldn’t push me to the brink, Zaire.”Zaire did not say anything. His eyes were glazed with a kind of cold fury that he’d never felt in years. It was impossible for Maya to still live after everything she’d said today. This thought crystallized in his mind and it gave him some kind of mild pleasure, that the corner of his lips actually tugged in a slight smile.Unaware of these murderous thoughts towards her, Maya went on speaking, “You’d better get on with what I asked.” She uttered carelessly, “If
Chapter Five Hundred And Forty-Eight“No! Stop this Damien!” Maya shot back, panic rising in her at the thought of him opening the door and finding her completely doing fine. She was about to hold on to the door once more, when suddenly there came the sound of the door lock clicking open. She gasped and rushed towards it, just as Damien pushed it open. They stared at each other and Damien scoffed, “Well, you don’t look that bad after all.” He muttered through gritted teeth.Maya didn’t know what to say. Her eyes were wide and frantic as Damien stared at her coldly, and her thoughts were all jumbled up, making her unsure of the next words to say.“I…I…uh…” she stammered, looking at everywhere but Damien’s eyes. How on earth had he being able to get in though?!She looked over Damien’s shoulder and saw a security guard dangling a bunch of keys.Oh right, of course there would be spare keys in the house. Why didn’t she think of that?, she thought to herself, biting her nails in a panic.
Chapter Five Hundred And Forty-SevenMaya was right behind the door, when Damien marched up to it.She had quickly locked the door as soon as Hilda stepped out, her heart beating in her throat as she waited in a panic. She could hear them discussing in the hallways and strained her ears to hear them but it was to no avail. However, as they drew closer to her door, she could hear them easily. Her hands were in her mouth, biting at her nails furiously as she heard that Damien had something important to say to her.“What’s that?” She thought frantically, “What does he have to say to me that is so urgent?” She held her head in her hands, swaying her body from side to side in despair.Suddenly she stopped and rushed towards the mirror in her bedroom. At the sight of the still bruised eyes, she groaned in anguish. What on earth would she say happened to her that she had a black eye?The voices at the door drew her attention once more and she quickly ran back to it. She could hear Hilda try
Chapter Five Hundred And Forty-SixAs soon as Hilda and Maya heard those words, they jumped up from their original spot, their hearts beating straight in their ears.“Damien is back?” Maya asked in a whisper as though Damien would be able to hear them from where he was downstairs, “Why is he back so early?!”Hilda shook her head, her eyes filled with panic , “Do not worry, Miss Maya.” She uttered trying to make her big e sound calm, “I will go down and greet him and also try to keep him away from your room.”With that, Hilda opened the door and stepped out, hurrying towards the staircase. She stopped short when she saw Damien coming up the stairwell as well.Damien’s gold gaze swept over her in a once over, “Where is she?” He asked.Hilda quickly hurried over and stood in front of him.Damien paused, arching an eyebrow at her. She was directly in front of him , preventing him from knowing any further.“What’s this?” He asked once more, his eyes as cold as the arctic.Hilda shivered a
Chapter Five Hundred And Forty-FiveAs Maya handed the phone back to Hilda, she felt an overwhelming sense of victory. This made her straighten her shoulders and held her head proudly, while Hilda looked at her with a mixture of awe and despair.“Miss Maya, how could you say such things to Master Zaire?” She asked in a fear filled voice, “Even going as far as threatening him.”Maya shot her a sharp look, “What do you think?” She asked, “Should I go about my life living in fear of him because he was the one who brought me here?”Hilda swallowed hard at that insinuation. Maya flipped her hair behind her shoulders flippantly, and continued speaking like she had no other care in the world.“It’s time I let him know that he’s no match for me,” she muttered through gritted teeth, “Even a mouse when pushed to the brink by the cat would fight back. And it’s high time I fight back, don’t you think so?”Hilda sighed, shaking her head in despair.Maya did not care. She turned away from the woman
Chapter Five Hundred And Forty-FourZaire smirked at her insult as he was unfazed by it.“About time you realized it,” he said to her, “Now listen to me. You’d better be grateful that I did not finish you off that night. Or it would have been better if I had, right?” He laughed devilishly, “then you wouldn’t be in this situation?”Maya was trembling so hard, she wanted to find him wherever he was and strangle him to death. “Speak up, will you?” He was mocking her now, “You wanted a solution for this problem. I think that’s the best that we can do, killing you off.”“You are a devil!” Maya swore him once more, tears pricking her eyes. “Don’t you dare think you can lay your hands on me or Damien.”Zaire’s eyes darkened with anger, “Is that a threat?” He asked, his voice a low growl.Maya was still trembling and Hilda was shaking by her side as well, trying to keep from crying. It would seem as though Maya had gone mad.
