LOGINChapter Two
Rina. "Y..you?" Her hands shook with rage as she took a step closer to the bed "what's going on? What the hell are you doing in my husband's room?!" Her fists clenched as she glared at Rina and remembered how Laura had admonished her to keep Rina away from her grandson. And now, Damien had gone and brought her into their home. She had failed Laura. Rina stared at Lana mischievously, her rosy pink lips curving into a smirk. Lana's palm itched to wipe that smirk off her face. She looked around the room, taking in the sight, slowly. The room was dimly lit from the chandelier above, which cast a faint glow around the room. Rina's hair looked disheveled and her complexion was flushed. There were clothes strewn about the floor of the room and a faint musty smell hung in the air. As Lana tried to make her brain understand whatever it is that was going on, Damien walked out of the bathroom. His golden locks, was wet and stuck to his forehead. He stopped when he saw Lana and his face darkened with a huge frown "What the hell do you think you're doing in here?" He growled and immediately Rina heard his voice, she ran to him and gave him a tight embrace, her entire body shaking, seemingly from fear. "Dami, I'm scared!" Lana felt like vomiting as she watched Damien's arms go round Rina in a tight embrace. He looked down into her face as he mumbled softly, "It's okay, I'm here. Don't be scared" he kissed the top of her head and the smile disappeared from his face as he glanced up back at Lana. He failed to see the sinister smile which Rina was giving Lana as she rubbed her cheeks against his hard chest. "Damien" Lana closed her eyes, in an effort to remain calm but it was very hard "What's she doing here?." "That's none of your fricking business! Get out of my room!" Damien still held on to Rina as though she was a little child, scared of the noise. "I want her out of my house this instant!" Lana retaliated, her voice shaking with emotion as she took another step forward " I will not have your little mistress under my roof!." Something flashed before her eyes and before she could realize it, Damien's hard palm had landed on her face. Twang! Lana reeled from the force of the slap and she landed on the floor, stunned. She reached to touch her reddened cheeks with trembling hands, and her eyes stung with unshed tears as she looked up at Damien who was glaring at her on the floor. His chest was heaving as he tried to calm down. "Don't you dare call her that, you conniving bitch!" He pointed a finger at her and almost spat at her "I've had enough of you. Your face makes me sick. You disgust me, Lana, just fricking go to hell!." Lana could see Rina standing behind him, her hands over her mouth seemingly in shock but her eyes were filled with glee. She was definitely enjoying the show and the look on her face was enough for Lana. She shakily stood up, determined never to back down in front of them. "Hell?! I'll make you see hell if you don't get that bitch out of my house!" She fired back, standing her ground although she was trembling all over from the emotions which were choking her Damien smirked, and his beautiful eyes glittered with disdain. "What are you going to do?" He walked back to Rina and gently led her to the bed. She continued hugging him, even though they were sitting. "Run to my grandma? To deceive her all the more?! Too bad she's out of the country. At least she won't get to see your conniving and hateful face!" "What are you talking about?" Lana was shaking with anger and she could not fathom what Damien was saying. She also could not stand Lana caressing her husband's chest. 'I said, get this bitch out!" At this, Damien stood up and walked to his desk and pressed a button. Soon, a guard appeared. "Ma'am, please come with me" The guard's eyes were apologetic as he held on to Lana's arm trying to lead her out but she shrugged out of his grip. "I said, get out!" She walked towards Rina and grabbed her arm, ready to throw her out. Rina shrieked, calling out to Damien, and Damien immediately pushed Lana to the floor again, cradling Rina in his arms. Lana fell to the floor, her abdomen suddenly on fire. She clutched her stomach and gasped loudly. "Get her out of my house! I do not want to see her face!" Damien thundered at the guard who immediately sprang into action, and roughly dragged Lana outside. Lana was limp with the pain and when the guard unceremoniously dumped her in front of the house, she called for her driver immediately. "Diego...to the hospital, quick" Lana gasped as the driver immediately placed her in the car, before hurrying to start the engine. She could not let anything happen to her baby. Lana's whole body was engulfed with pain but it was not like the aching in her heart. Her eyes stung with tears which spilled over and rolled down her cheeks She wailed, unmindful of the driver who looked at her in distress. "Ma'am, please stop crying, everything would be o...oh shit!" Diego yelled suddenly as a huge dump truck came at the car from a side road. He swerved sharply to avoid an impact and the car was thrown off the road and it careened straight into a tree by the side of the road. And then, there was a deafening silence. Before the car crashed into the tree, Lana was already unconscious, her head on the headrest in front of her. Slowly, blood trickled down her legs, staining her white dress and the seat which she sat on.Chapter Five Hundred And Seventy-Two“Come and get it if you can,” Adrain gritted at them, “I’d like to see you try.”Damien scoffed in disbelief, exchanging glances with Liam, “Bring them in.”Liam brought his phone to his ear, “I want you in the living room the next three minutes.” He ordered coldly, looking at Adrain dead in the eye, “There’s an intruder i need you to take care of.”Adrian’s eyes widened in alarm but it was too late.Within a short while, some able bodied suited guards ran into the living room. Without another word, they grabbed a hold of Adrian and brought him to his knees with one swift kick.“Ahh! Let go of me! How dare you do this?! Lana!” He yelled, glaring at Lana viciously, “Are you really going to let them do this to me?!”Lana was very uncomfortable with the question but she managed to keep her cool, “you should have just handed the phone when we asked you to, Adrian.” She replied to Adrian’s rage.Liam nodded to the guards, “Get his phone away from him.”
Chapter Five Hundred And Seventy-One“Lana, you believe me, don’t you? You know I am on your side.”Everyone looked at Lana as Adrian uttered those words. Damien found that his heart was beating slightly faster than normal, as he started getting anxious.Although he trusted Lana’s better judgement, there was no doubt that this Adrian Scholes had played a greater part in her and Arielle’s lives these past few years, whereas he had been absent.Hell, Adrian was probably there when Arielle got ill multiple times. He was probably there for her birth, and for her first birthday. He was probably there when she took her first steps and might have even had instances when Arielle called him daddy.Damien felt his chest tighten with dread and sadness when he thought about all of that.“Gosh, I had really missed a lot.” He thought to himself, staring at Lana and then at Adrian. The fact that the one who had been a core part of his daughter’s memories was a scumbag like Adrian was enough to make
Chapter Five Hundred And Seventy.“You’re hiding something, Dr Adrian Scholes,” Damien thundered, “And you know what exactly that is when you schemed with Zaire Ludovic to deceive Lana and destroy me!”Those words felt like a whiplash cracking through the air and landing on Adrian. His legs buckled underneath him and then gave way, as he fell back to the wall behind him.The others had been dumbstruck by those words. They looked from Damien to Adrian in utmost disbelief and shock.Lana”s eyes were as wide as saucers and she started trembling almost immediately.“What…what does that mean?” She asked, her green eyes fixed on Adrian.Adrain remained with his back on the wall. He wanted to shake his head and refuse whatever it was that Lana was asking him but at that moment, it was as though his vision became blurred. He wanted to yell out in defiance and refuse the accusations but he could not because his throat suddenly became stuck with the words he wanted to yell out, and he could on
Chapter Five Hundred And Sixty-NineAdrian’s voice trailed off in horror as he watched Damien walk towards them. Damien stopped before them and placed an arm protectively around Lana and she leaned almost immediately into his embrace, naturally and smoothly. He stared at them all with his mouth slightly open, and his face more than a little pale.“Y…you…you…” he stammered in horror, unable to get the words completely out of him. What the actual fuck? Why was Damien here, and why did he look so…so like himself?“Why…” he took in a deep breath, unable to resist asking, “Why are you here?” He was breathing hard now, as he turned to look at Lana, “you let him in here?”“Let me in?” Damien asked with an incredulous scoff, “Mr Scholes, I think I need to remind you at this point that I own the Romero Villa. My woman and my child is also here. Of course I have every right to be here.”Adrain looked as though he would explode. His face contorted into something sinister and his fists clenched h
Chapter Five Hundred And Sixty-EightLana and Damien sat up abruptly on the bed when they heard the sounds of raised voices coming from outside the room.It sounded like Liam was having it in a serious argument with somebody.“What the hell was that?”Without waiting for an answer, Damien got out of bed and Lana did the same. She put out a hand to stop him, “It’s fine. The others are out there and everything will be okay,” she assured him, “You’re not feeling very well right now.”“Lana, please don’t do this.” Damien uttered in a level voice, his eyes filled with exasperation, “I told you i’m okay.”But Lana was already walking briskly towards the door and out of it.Damien followed after her, bothered and pissed that she actually went off by herself. What if there was danger lurking in the living room, and she knew nothing about it?He already hated the fact that he’d been away for so long and had not been protective of her and Arielle all along, and it seemed like Lana had gotten us
Chapter Five Hundred And Sixty-SevenThey checked on his stitches as well and fussed all over him until Damien began feeling like a little princess.“Enough with the fuss!” He finally groaned in frustration, “Everyone out!”“What?!” Lana arched an eyebrow at him.Damien quickly shook his head, “Not you,” he quickly corrected himself, then cleared his throat, “I meant them.”Lana watched him with narrowed eyes for a few seconds before she conceded, turning to the maids and the other men. With a slight nod at them, they all left the room, leaving Lana and Damien alone.Lana looked at him, her eyes filled with worry, “Are you okay now?” She asked softly, “why did you have me send them out? You really don’t want to get well, right? Why are you so stubborn?”“And when did you get so talkative?” Damien asked, his voice a slow drawl as he drew her by the hand to sit on the bed beside him.Lana sat on the bed with a little gasp. Her skin, where Damien held her hand was tingling with that fam
