EVE'S POV

The sound of Morgan's sudden voice surprised me, and I turned around to face him.

What was he doing here? Had he followed me? Why? To see whether I would go to wherever it was he thought I had exchanged his ring at?

But instead of confronting me, he was looming over the securityguard who had been about to throw me out of the shop threateningly. I supposed he felt it was his duty to defend me.

His eyes flickered to mine, and avoiding his gaze, I walked past him and out of the shop.

MORGAN'S POV

As Eve ignored me and walked out of the shop, I frowned. Of course, she was still mad at me for accusing her of selling my mother's heirloom. But before I could go after her and apologise, I needed to have a talk with the one who had conned her.

Turning to the owner, I said,

"You had better return the ring you stole from my wife."

"Like I've told your wife, I did not exchange her ring. She gave me her ring for a maintenance service and when I was done, I returned it to her. If she
