HAZEL

The morning goes on the way it usually does. It's so unproblematic to the point that I always know what to expect regardless. Maybe something might happen like Fiona showing up without a few snacks for me to much on, but that's just about it all.

Have I said that I love the peace and quiet here yet?

Well I do, and it is not just that. There's fresh air too. I read some trauma books, and I thought that my brain would play tricks on me by making me miss my bullies.

"As if that would happen." I mutter as I get out of bed, responding to Fiona's greetings.

I have been watching television nonstop, and it takes out of my sleeping time.

"Miss, you fell asleep watching the television again. Shall I come here and put it out for you every night?" Fiona asks me, and I shake my head.

"That was my mistake, but thank you for doing that for me. You're too kind." I tell Fiona who chuckles and tells me that she's just doing her job.

There is a knock on the door and I ask the person

HAZEL "So as for where we are going, it's a surprise." He says, offering me his arm. "But I promise you'll love it. We are going to walk, though." I raise an eyebrow skeptically but decide to go along with it. After all, what's life without a little spontaneity? As long as it's nothing like what went on in the pack house. As we walk through the streets of the kingdom, I can't help but marvel at the sights and sounds around me. This place looks great, and although I've been out to cities before, but this has a more modern look and feel to it. "So, Arnold." I say, breaking the silence as we make our way down a crowded street. "Please tell me something else about yourself. What do you like? What do you dislike?" He thinks for a moment, his brow furrowing in concentration. "Well, I love music." He finally says. "Sometimes I play the guitar in my free time, which isn't a lot, but still, and I'm a huge fan of desserts." I nod, mentally filing away this new piece of information

ARNOLDEvery moment with Hazel feels like a dream come true. From the moment we first met, I knew there was something special about her, save for the fact that she was my mate, I knew that there was something else— something that drew me to her soul like a magnet. And now, as we stroll hand in hand through the palace gardens, bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun, I can't help but feel like the luckiest werewolf alive. Sure, being king is hard enough, but there’s something about Hazel. The way she speaks, her laughter and everything. I want to know everything about her, but that will happen in due time, but now, this is what we can do. I got up this morning and asked for all my duties for the day to be shifted to the rest of the week. I had so much fun with Hazel a few days ago, so why wouldn’t I want to do it again? Work can wait when it comes to my lovely mate. The gardens are alive with color and fragrance, and the air filled with the wonderful smell of the flowers and the

ETHANI set out early to go and meet Hazel, apparently, she was in trouble and I want to go and help her. My brother didn’t tell me much, but regardless, I pick out a particular set of clothes to make sure I win her heart, and ensure that I will going to make sure she knows that I am always going to there for her. The drive to the town starts as I set the way with a lot of thoughts parading my mind. This is a surprise visit, Hazel never asked me to come, and maybe she is just shy, but after Arnold told me that Hazel was with him, I made my decision. I put on music to make the drive less boring and to take myself away from my mind. Stopping at a local store, I asked the guards to tell Hazel likes, I got her a lot of things, ranging from food items to accessories.- I got to the pack and everywhere looked a little different, driving into the castle made things better. When I got out and embraced my brother, the driver went on to park and we started talking. But then I remember why I

HAZELAs I sleep in my room. I can't help but wonder why Ethan came here. I know what he said and all but he should not have. He is creating a disruption to what I have going on with Arnold. "Hey, Hazel. Are you awake?" I hear a knock on my door and it opens. The voice doesn't register in my head. "Yes, who is it? Arnold? Is that you?" I ask, joy filling me. As I am about to stand up to go meet him, the voice responded. "Stop calling his name. Why are you so intrigued by him?" Ethan complains. "I care about you more than he does, just so you know." "I didn't know who it was, he has been the one here with me for a very long time now, who else would I assume would come down to my suite?" I shout back at Ethan. "What do you want? Did you just come here to yell at me when I am trying to get some sleep?" "No, no. I'm sorry, I just wanted to talk to about something before you went to sleep. " Ethan says. "Can it wait till tomorrow? Or are you leaving yet?" "This night?

HAZELEthan still hasn’t left, and there is something telling me that I’m the reason he’s still here. I decide to spend the evening in the library when I see him looking down at me as I’m reading on my desk. “What is it?” I ask him, worried that something bad is about to happen. “Nothing, I never knew that you actually liked to read.” He says and I nod, telling him that it’s my all time favourite hobby. “That’s wonderful, do you also like the stars?” He asks, and I nod, looking at him in confusion. “Who doesn’t like the stars?” I ask him, and he chuckles. “You might be surprised to know that some people don’t care much for the stars.” He says, and I nod, thinking that evil people like Cathy and Gwen would probably not like stars. “I guess, I can think of some people.” I giggle. “So, I don’t want to come off as creepy or anything, but how would you like to go up with me later tonight? A comet might rise and I want to see.” Ethan asks, and I look at him in surpris

HAZELAfter the shocking turn of events, seeing Ethan in his most pleasant form, all of his vulnerabilities were laid bare. "So, brother, I honestly need to go for this meeting. It will make a very noticeable progress in the development of my kingdom and myself. " I overhear Arnold telling his brother. "You want to leave your Kingdom without a leader, without their king? Why would you do that?" Ethan ask him, his tone filled with a lot of judgment. "You're one to talk. Do you know how long you have left your Kingdom for?" Arnold snaps. There was a silent moment. The both of them staring at each other, the next thing I hear is laughter. They both start laughing for reason that I don't even understand. Sometimes their wittiness makes me smile. It reminds me of how close they are. "My case is different. I'm generally known to not be responsible, but you are the responsible one." Ethan says. "Yeah, I have always hated that point of view, it always made me set an unnecess

  • Two Mates and A Descendant    Chapter 56

HAZELAs I enter Ethan's room, the sight of him lying pale and feeble in bed tugs at my heartstrings. His usually vibrant eyes are dull, and the lines of pain etched on his face makes me know that he is suffering. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what I might see. Carefully, I approach his bedside, my footsteps soft against the floor. "Hey, Ethan." I murmur gently, placing my hand on his forehead. He stirs at my touch, his gaze flickering open to meet mine. His forehead is burning hot, and the doctor just left. "Hazel." he croaks, his voice hoarse with illness. My heart clenches at the sight of him in such a state. Despite our differences, I can't help but feel a really bad for him. He may be stubborn and infuriating at times, but under his tough exterior lies vulnerability. Like everyone else, yes, but still. For the first time, I see Ethan in a different light. Completely weakened and humbled by life and nature itself. Gone is the confident facade he usually wear

ETHANAs I lie in bed, the dull ache in my chest, a steady reminder of my weakened state. It is better for than the way I was feeling hours ago. I could barely even feel anything that wasn't pain, but thankfully, I am way better. I can't help but feel grateful for Hazel's presence by my side. She's been my lifeline these past few days, nursing me back to health with care, and in the most tender way possible. I know Hazel, I know her too well to know that if I were to be sick, I would probably have died with her trying her best efforts. But, the Hazel that has been taking care of me for the past few days, that Hazel is different. I have never seen this side of her, and I don't think Anthony has either. I watch as she moves around the room, her movements graceful and precise, she tends to my needs, almost as if she had worked as nurse before. I stare in shock at her movements, each step ringing purpose. She checks my temperature, fluffs my pillows, and brings me warm broth soup to

HAZELThe days following the twins' recovery are filled with a deep sense of relief and gratitude. Their smiles shine throughout their nursery and their light shines through and lifts the spirits of our kingdom.Arnold and Ethan watch over them with vigilant eyes, and I can feel their relief as we witness our children return to their normal selves. We gather as a family in the evenings, sharing meals and stories, cherishing each moment like a precious gift. One evening, as we sit together, basking in the warmth of our living room, with Zena and Kamila nestled between us, I make a vow out of fierce determination and love."I promise," I begin. No harm will ever come to you again."Arnold looks at me with trust and agreement in his eyes. Ethan nods in a

HAZELThe decision weighs heavily on my heart as I stand before the cell where my former taskmaster is held, shackled, and guarded. His eyes widen in fear as I approach, and his voice trembles with desperation when he speaks."No, please!" he pleads, his voice cracking. "I didn't mean for this to happen!"I meet his gaze firmly with my hands clenched into fists at my sides. "You poisoned my children," I say through gritted teeth. Each word I say is laced with fury and pain. "You will help us save them. That’s the final part of the ritual required for them to heal completely."The taskmaster recoils, and his face is pale with terror. "I… I don't know how," he stammers."You know more than you're willing to admit," I retort. My voice is low and dangerous. "And if you don't cooperate, I will make you regret every moment you spent plotting against us."With a wave of my hand, the guards unlock the cell and drag him out into the harsh light of day. His protests fall on deaf ears as I lead

HAZELOutside our suite, the pack house buzzes with tension. Alphas from packs send healers and messages of support. Members of our kingdom stand vigil, their faces filled with worry and grief. "We still have work to do."The twins' recovery marks a turning point, but the scars of betrayal still run deep as questions linger in our minds. Who orchestrated the poisoning, and why? How could we have missed the signs? In the days that follow, we strengthen our security measures, monitor every meal, and go through our alliances. HAZELThe days pass and I bask in the comfort of motherhood and preparation. Each moment is filled with the gentle cooing of Zena and Kamila and the careful planning for the upcoming coronation. I find solace in the quiet moments with our daughters, even as decisions about the coronation swirl around us.Ethan and Arnold are diligent in their duties, and they consult with advisors as they attend to the needs of the kingdom. Meanwhile, I’m consulted on matters that require my approval, from the design of my coronation dress to the arrangements for the ceremony itself. One afternoon, as I nurse Zena and Kamila, I review sketches and fabric samples spread out on the table before me. "This one," I say, pointing to a sketch of a dress adorned with intricate embroidery. "I think it’s perfect."Arnold leans over my shoulder as he studies the design with a thoughtful expression. "It’s beautiful," he agrees softly. "Just like you."Ethan nods in approval too, and I can see that his eyes are

HAZELThe sun hangs low in the sky, and it casts a glow over the serene water of the lake on the outskirts of the pack. Ethan, Arnold, and I spread out a blanket under the shade of a towering oak tree, and the gentle breeze brings the scent of wildflowers and pine to us."This is perfect," Ethan says with a contented sigh, as he settles down beside me. "This is just what we needed. A break from everything."Arnold nods in agreement as his eyes look over the peaceful scenery. "It’s been too long since we’ve had a moment like this."I smile as I feel a sense of peace settle over me too. "I couldn’t agree more."We unpack the picnic basket. It’s a simple but rich spread of assorted sandwiches, fruits, a pitcher of lemonade, and a jug of cool water. Ethan pours us each a glass of lemonade. The Great Hall, which still bears the scars of battle, is now buzzing with a different kind of energy. It’s filled with hope and renewal. The maids bustle around and they work diligently to transform the hall into a fitting venue for the coronation. It will be a modest ceremony because of our limited resources, but its significance cannot be overemphasized. This coronation represents a new beginning for our kingdom."Hazel, these are flowers that were requested for. What do you think?" one of the maids, Elara, calls out to me. I join her, and together, we arrange the wildflowers into simple yet elegant bouquets.
