Things better be right

Night came quickly and Eric and his people were done packing. His mother stood beside him, watching him address the people. As soon as he was done, they all trooped out of the room with their bags, packing his too and going to the car. Eric was just about to step out when she grabbed his hand, halting him in his tracks.

“Do you trust that man?” She asked.

Eric clenched his jaw and briefly closed his eyes, “mama, we don’t have any choice right now. Since you couldn’t figure out anything, we can’t stay here. We have to go with someone that can figure out things for us.” He retorted, snatching his hand away from her and moving towards the door.

“I don’t trust him. I don’t trust him in any way.” She said as he stopped again, a deep sigh escaping his lips.

“And so what? So because you don’t trust him, we should stay here and keep hiding while those bastards take everything that belongs to me! Or what are you saying mother!” He almost yelled out.
