Chapter 5: The Werewolf
"I was out for some air, what are you doing up there, get down." He was not young enough for tree climbing, if he'd ever fall he'd break all his bones. "I am not weak as you think," he murmured but I could see his hands shaking while climbing down the tree. "To the north, I saw one heading north." He whispered and I nodded, He'd been suspecting that there were residing there, we've been trying to find it over years. I was walking fast when he suddenly stopped, the turned to me and his eyes went to my hands. His eyes were on my gloves, I restrained myself not to shake or move and act as if, I was confused and innocent. "You wear gloves," he concluded. His suspicious look burned my neck. "I thought it was cool," what a lame excuse. When did I start losing my common sense? "Let's go, we're wasting time," I said in an attempt of saving mess. He did head-on and led the way. I was only following his step. Then we got into someplace, it was way darker than normal forest dark at night. "Had we gone over that mountain?" He asked me, it was he who told me that beyond the wire was privately owned by a businessman. "I don't know," I answered. And he tilted his head towards it. He covered his face so I did too. I followed him easily jump over the wire, his bones were quite well today. He was walking like a cat and I couldn't almost hear his steps. Until we hear some howling, after a few walks from the wire we already got some trace of the residing track. He eagerly headed toward the direction where we heard it. Should I do this? If we'd ever see werewolves here, should I kill them? I am one of them, but Tasio would get disappointed with me, I knew no one of these werewolves and Tasio here was my family. I would not bring him down. Until we saw it, there were numbers of wolves gathering around a platform, where two wolves were standing. It was him, my Mate, standing on the platform with another wolf. It took me a few minutes to realize what was going on. It was too late for me to stop him cause I heard a harsh slit of the air and saw the arrow aiming at Dion. No. I felt like a bucket of ice splashed on my spine looking at the arrow with wide eyes, while my chest tighten making me hard to breathe. But the other wolf jumps to catch the arrow. Everything went so fast after that, I only found myself running while a loud and angry howl filled my ears which reached my heart sending fright to every nerve of my body. I glanced behind and saw several wolves angrily running after us. I could run faster but Tasio couldn't. "Faster!" I yell but I knew he was running out of breath. 'What should I do?' I came back to him so I could pull him to run faster but he stopped and positioned his bow. "I am old anyway, this is what I have been waiting for." He started shooting them down while his lips were stretched into an evil smile. His eyesight was still sharp, every release was head shoot. I left with no choice but to start shooting too. I felt like was stabbed too while seeing them hit by my arrow, I have to protect myself. Every arrow someone would drop dead, my sight had gone better. My hunter reflexes were not letting me down. From my side vision, I could see him smashing a werewolf using his cane. He's a wise man indeed it was laced with silver too. I got my knife and slit every neck of the wolves that attempted to bite my face. While the old man from my side has his hunter reflexes still. But we're running of arrows. "You're doing great but you better run now." He whispered once we stood back to back. I pulled my last arrow, Tasio got one last too. Everyone stopped when we all heard a loud growl. That familiar growl, I knew it was him. They turned to where it was but I couldn't bring myself of turning my head to him. My mate. "HAHAHAHAHA! I found you, Eric, how's my wife?" I turned to Tasio, he was eyeing the wolf next to him. He was snarling furiously while Tasio's arrow was aiming at him. He seemed to forget that we were in the middle of a pack of werewolves. I turned to him, he was watching me. I saw him smell the air and I knew he could smell me. We should submit but Tasio shoots the werewolf named Eric and everyone came to attack him. My instinct told me to growl loud and my hand fell to the ground when I saw blood coming from Tasio's knee. I bit the one who attacked him and scratched them. I tasted the metallic liquid in my mouth and I kept attacking everyone. He was already lying on the ground and I bit his shirt and ran fast as I could. The image of the tree was blurry as I passed them, I couldn't even estimate my speed, all I know was that I need to escape. Until I heard nothing and I put him down. After dropping him, he immediately crawled away from me, his wide eyes reflected how surprised he was. I transformed back into my human form and he looked up to me. "Olive," he unbelievably whispered. His blood was continuously bleeding. I came to near but he crawled away from me. His face turned into anger which made me heartbroken. "I don't know too," but he was eyeing me like I am not the Olive he raised. "Believe me, I just found out too. Yesterday, I was feeling tired but when the moon was out, I gained my strength back. I was planning to tell you." He held his bow and cane with his tightest grip. He seemed like didn't recognize me anymore, he saw me as a werewolf which was his enemy. That look in his eyes crashed me, my only family hated me already. I wished to hold his hands and beg but he was more furious now. "I was living with a snake all along. Oh! my bad, a WEREWOLF."Chapter 78: Epilogue Anger could drive us to somewhere we never really wanted. You may regret it once you get there, but the mistake was part of my growth, what mattered was I managed to come back on track. Sulking in pain, anger, and confusion felt like hell. It felts like walking somewhere you did not know. It felts like being caged in a huge space where no matter how you run, you could find the end. Just darkness all over you. Escape could never put an end to a battle, it will only hunt you again and again. So, I chose to finally face it. The battle that was plotted for me. Standing now, looking at everyone around me. With witches and werewolves, among us, I am the only half-blooded. Being different is a blessing and a curse, and they were part of my Twisted Fate. “Mom!” Orion called me while running in my direction. He’s six now and Radian would be turning five. “They're here!” He said and held my hand. He pulled me to the field and saw the Alphas with their wives. It’s been
Chapter 77: The Beginning at The End“Rylan…baby,” I whispered and reached his face. Tears fell from his eyes, but he had no emotion. “Save me…” I begged and he pulled the knife out. He broke into tears when I fell on the ground to catch me. If this was my end, at least I knew he still love me. At the edge of my eyes, I saw Linda break the pendant of Venon’s necklace. “Zenith…” he was panicky when I bleed too much. Then my stomach started to grow. My son is hurt. We all heard its heartbeat. “Get away from her!” Lizo shouted and pulled me away. “No, he’s back, it’s okay.” I held Rylan tightly, I did not want to let him go. I might lose him again. My wound lightened up with blue light and soon it healed. My son saved me again. Then it returned to normal as if he was saying finish everything now.“Thank you, my little fighter.” The war has ended and pulled him into a tight hug. “I missed you so much.” “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I hurt you.” He was whispering again and again.
Chapter 76: Cold Memories I tried to do not to fight more unless it was needed. I need to conserve my power. I cannot let myself overuse my power. They probably suspect that I was pregnant, her words left me hanging. I was surprised. I need to choose my fight now. He sent a battalion of the army, but he hasn’t shown himself again. I’d know if he’s already dead. His memory will flash in my head. I would see what was in his heart that he had been keeping. Everyone that tries to attack me would be taken care of by my beta. She hasn’t left my side. I knew they were worried and I should not worry them more. But at the edge of my eyes, I saw the black-capped man staring straight at me. I ran to him and attacked him using my claw. If he was a werewolf, he should shift but I never saw him shift. “Who are you?” I asked him. “Why was he calling you Rylan?” I asked and kept attacking him. “HOW DARE YOU USE HIS NAME!” I shifted and attacked him furiously. He was too fast to avoid all my
Chapter 75: The War Day OneEveryone was out there preparing for the war. I was looking at my pack, would this pack survive? Our women, children, and oldies were on their way to Alpha Gado’s pack. The army of witches has arrived. “I want to ask you something, Miradel. How will I know that I am about to give birth?” “Few days before you give birth, your scent will start to change, its presence will surface sometimes but it will hide again. They might hear its heartbeat sometimes and it would be gone in a minute.” She answered. I do not have time to delay. I nodded in response. When I got to the ground, everyone was there. Linda came to me with her fierce face. “Do not kill him, please. Promise me. Alpha, promise me, you will let him live.” I nodded to assure her. But truly, I could not promise that. If he would try to harm me, I would be left with no choice but to end him. “They’re coming, hide,” I said and they all ran into the woods. They’d attack our pack, but no one wa
Chapter 74: My Reckless ActionAt night I stealthily left our pack and vowed to be back before sunset. My destination was something they’d never expected. I did everything I could to sneak into his pack. Until I got into her laboratory. “What are you doing?” I suddenly heard Dion’s voice, so I placed my ears against the wall. Their faint conversation pulled my interest. “Making you stronger.” It was Venon. “What is that?” “Power. Don’t ask anymore. Just do as I say, you’ll win this war. Move now before they could fully prepare for the war. Strike while her army hasn’t been fully cooked.” Good. Move now, Dion. I don’t care. I turned to hide but someone covered my mouth and pulled me into a room. I knew that scent. “What are you doing in here?” He whispered while trying to make sure no one was around and no one could hear us. “Spying.”“Recklessly? You should have sent spies.” Alpha Titus said. “I haven’t received anything from them yet, so I went to investigate myself.
Chapter 73: Fatal Situation“What!” “You are maybe pregnant.” She repeated. “That’s impossible, I should feel that if I am pregnant, and it’s been months since that day. My stomach should grow bigger by now, and especially, I should hear its heartbeat.” I said I was confident when I said that. She did not know the whole story. It has been months and I lost count of when I was last with him. The last full moon, I guess. “I am not messing around, you cannot be that powerful for you are half-blooded even if you are Minerva’s descendant or an ancient healer white werewolf. That power would only be possible if it was the combination of the power of two witches or wizards.” I shook my head. She was talking nonsense. How could that be possible when I have a flat stomach? “No,”“You and your child’s power.” She said and I was on the verge of shifting. “Hear me out, I will not say something like this for nothing. I have seen that kind of power before in your grandmother when she was
