Chapter 6: The Lost Wolf
He gravely spoke those words while eyeing me like I betrayed him. I shook my head, it wasn't true. I didn't mean to, I didn't even know I was...I am a werewolf. "No no no, I am not your enemy here, I am the Olive that you raised, I can forget being a werewolf and be a hunter still. I can protect you." I didn't know what I am saying, I was too desperate to ease his anger. I couldn't lose him. His anger was scaring me, I didn't want him to be mad at me. "A werewolf is a werewolf, end of the story." And he drew his last arrow, it was aiming at me. All I did was to look at him in his eyes, hoping that he might change his mind. I raise both of my hands as a sign of surrender. His arrow has no match how much pain it cost me while looking at his eyes full of determination to kill me. "Fight!" he shouted at me. "You are my father, I can not harm you." "I. DO. NOT. HAVE. A. CHILD. ESPECIALLY. A. WEREWOLF!" The emphasis broke my heart, even more, I lost it, my tears fell as he finished his declaration. He was my only family. If I beg, would he consider me? I kneeled to beg. "I...I...will do anything, just do not abandon me, please." I almost lost my voice, despite my blurry sight due to the massive amount of tears, I saw him smile until his laughter resounded. "HAHAHAHAHAHA! How pleasing to see a werewolf beg, I never thought I would ever see a werewolf being to a hunter. I may raise you as a strong hunter, your heart was been disappointing. Never thought of begging for more because I will never accept a traitor. Traitor of her own kin." And he mercilessly releases the arrow with a wide grin. "Goodbye." And reality snap me from the illusion that he was my father, I was never a daughter to him but it was too late for me to realize it. The strong impact of the arrow struck my left chest and fell to the ground. I totally lost my sense when I saw the arrow that was half-length in my body, blood started dripping down to my body, my sight went blurry and I lost my hearing. All I feel was a pain in my heart. I couldn't move my body anymore and found myself lying on the ground, I tried to open my eyes and I saw the full moon losing its shine and half-covered with clouds. I closed my eyes to feel the last shine of the moon on my skin but something blocked it. I could feel that someone was standing next to me. I opened my eyes once again despite the heaviness of my eyelids and striking pain in my head. I saw him. He was talking unidentified words, I couldn't hear him. But one word was clear to me, he said weak. I am weak. And he raised his cane, I didn't need to ask what he was going to do, I closed my eyes before the strong strike hit my head. "Shh," a woman's voice entered my ears. "It's alright, it's alright," that familiar voice again, and as I open my eyes I saw a woman facing me while her pointing finger was pointing up between her lips. "Don't be afraid," her soft voice calm my breath and her soft touch on my shoulder calmed my nerves. "Zenith, can you hear me?" she asked while the moon was glowing brightly behind her, this was the dreamland again. The dream that kept me awake at night. A dreamland that seemed a nightmare. She was making me run again, she wanted me to escape again. And again she pushed before she vanished in the air. I found myself running hard as I could and again I fell. But instead of hitting the bottom of the cliff, my sight drifted into blue, blue sky... I blinked two times and sat up, on green grass, I ran my palm on the ground to feel it and it was bright around. I was wearing a white dress and I closed my eyes as I felt the calming blow of the wind. Wow, where am I? I stood up and looked around, it was an endless green grass and the sky was bright blue above with relaxing wind that kept kissing my skin. But my walk started to fast until it turned to run, and the next thing I was already running in my wolf form. I didn't feel anything anymore, it was just peace while the overwhelming joy filled my heart. Until stopped when I saw black, at the end of the way, there was darkness and soon enough I noticed it fast approaching, I hurriedly ran back, faster than before and the fastest that I could but the darkness catch me, it surrounded me as I ran until the beautiful place has completely changed into darkness. I was so scared and I stopped running. But then I couldn't breathe anymore, I fell to the ground and tried everything I could to breathe but couldn't. I closed my eyes cause I couldn't take it anymore. As the oxygen returned I bolted and sat up and inhale a massive amount of air. As I saw the place, it was the place where I brought Tasio. I am alone now and the sun was up. I checked my left chest and found dried blood, but I could feel nothing. And the arrow was lying next to me. I checked my chest and found no wounds. "I am alive," but what are those places I've seen in my dreams. It seemed like a nightmare, I hope I had a clue what did that mean to me. I stood up but the heaviness of my heart was unbearable. He almost killed me and I didn't know how I survived that critical hit in addition the arrow was laced with silver. I started walking to I didn't know where. I just felt lost and abandoned. Good thing that the woods around me has given me a comforting feeling. I felt secure under their shadows. I had taken multiple sighs to lessen the heaviness in my heart. How I am supposed to live alone? I found a lake and went there, I washed my face and saw my hair in the reflection of the water. It had turned blue now, all blue. Mate. I remember my mate, I hurriedly ran to our meeting place but something came into my head. I killed his army for Tasio. Would he accept me still?Chapter 7: RejectionI am here, standing at exactly where I stood the first time and the last time we met. And hoping to meet him again. On the edge of this cliff and the beauty in front of it. The green forest and the blue sky met in the middle. Birds were passing by and clouds were calmly moving unnoticeable. A scorching day has ended, and the sky started turning orange. A sign that night was approaching. I couldn't wait anymore but at the same time was nervous. I was afraid of what would be his reaction to seeing me. I know that he would be mad but would he forgive me? I could not sit still knowing that he might kill me but he is my mate. He might give me chance to prove my loyalty. I hope he would still accept me.I immediately stood when I heard some calm footsteps. I waited for him to show up and he did in his wolf form. He was so gorgeous but then he angrily ran to me and jump. As his paw hit my shoulder I fell and my head was an inch from the edge. He was about to bite
Chapter 8: Lovely Flowers I was watering my flower in my garden, I felt good seeing them grow and bloom. This at least eases the grief in my heart. I didn't know how I survived it, I just woke up, feeling pain in every inch of my body. I was in my wolf form, it was my weakest point but I managed to sit up and licked at my wounds. After a few days, my bones had gone better, no food and water. I only stayed there down the cliff. After gaining my strength back, I started hunting for food and never transformed into my human form. I eat the way wolves eat and live as a wolf for a few days. My heart was full of grief and I hard move or survive a day. But one morning, I decided to shift into my human form and create a home. Away from his pack and Tasio's house. I never dare to enter their territory and stayed in my safe zone. I smelled the fresh scent of flowers around me. Since that day when I found out that I am a werewolf, my sense of smell has heightened so has my sense of hear
Chapter 9: Who's a witch?"What are you talking about?" I asked her but she instead snatched my wrist and looked at my birthmark. "Zillia," she whispered and I snatched my wrist away from her. But the sun had gone down, I started running away from the city. I needed to find a spot where I could safely howl before the time of howling which was in the middle of the night. "Wait!" she was running after me so I ran faster and when I looked back I couldn't see her anymore so I shifted into my wolf. I could feel her glee as her paw hit the ground. Until I saw a perfect spot where I could have the perfect view of the full moon. I knew it was safe in the place, I had made sure to avoid the territories of packs around. Time flies real fast, but the feeling and the memory were still clear in me. The full moon ruined my peace and took everything for me. On my first ever shift and learned that I have a wolf in me and the next day I lost everything I have. "Awooooo!" It was not onl
Chapter 10: A Night With Grief "That I couldn't answer," she said. But the pain in her eyes couldn't keep me calm."I was young and wild back then and traveled alone while my older sister your mother wants to live in peace. All she did was take care of her flowers and repeat her routine every day. I found it boring so I decided to leave her." She kept combing my hair while reminiscing those moments."This is her house. I missed her so I went home and found this house empty.""She's lost? She's probably with my father he a werewolf, you said it is forbidden to have a relationship with werewolves, they are maybe hiding." I exclaimed and I little hope to build into my heart. I badly want to meet them."I don't think so." And my tiny hope crashed."Why?""Why would you be alone now if they are just hiding? Why would you grow up with a hunter if nothing happened? I don't want to imply a thing and hurt you but I must not give you false hope.""What do you mean?""I foun
Chapter 11: Meeting Him Again"I know, don't mention it," and she flashed a fake smile. But eventually, we broke into laughter and even had a high five. "I feel so fake, yuck," then she acted vomiting which made me laugh harder. "Are you alright?" she asked and my laughter instantly subsided. "I hope," I couldn't hide my pain instead of flashing a fake smile I looked down. She walked toward me and wrapped her arms around my body. "You have me now, all those wounds will heal." She whispered and kiss me on my cheek. "You are so beautiful," and she pinches my face. "Thank you," I didn't think it was comforting but I think she mean it."Now get ready cause we'll be performing the ritual, we need to cut the connection between you and your mate and also waken your craft." It tightened my heart, I didn't know what should I do. He already chose to be with another she-wolf, why do I feel like I am betraying him. "Okay," I answered and went to my room. I sat on my chair acros
Chapter 12: The Witches "I just want to die," I emphasized."No one will die!" she stepped back when she shouted. "Look at me, look straight." She held my face and made me look at her."We are witches, and our family was not just witches. We are royally blooded of the witches ministry before your grandparents died, we the rule the ministry of witches, and backing down was never in our vocabulary. There is no reason to seek death.""Where are my parents?" but she couldn't answer. "Dead," and I saw her blink and turned into teary."Where is my mate?" she only took a huge gulp and put my loose strands of hair at the back of my ears. "Mated to another she-wolf and worse...he wants me to die.""How about me? Am I not a family to you or important to you?" she held both of my palms and seek hesitation in my eyes."What I am?" she blinked and a tear fell in her eyes but I was already filled with numbness. "A half-witch and a half-wolf. Where do I belong? To none. Why I am here
Chapter 13: Another Loss Then my sight was filled with red light, blinding bright red which made me cover my eyes. "Aunt Zinny?" I called out, every light turned off and the place was filled with darkness, which made my fear climb up and suffocated my throat. I felt like I was alone. I went to open my room and saw nothing at her main door. It was well closed and it was dark outside. I open the window and saw no fire, no one was there."Where are they? What just happened?" I hurriedly walked around and search the whole place. "Aunt Zinny!" I called her again and my voice echoed in the whole place. I hugged myself while holding my tears back. "What the hell!""Where are you!" I made it sound angry but I am truly scared. I had searched every part of her kitchen, library, room, and living here, and even checked the room where I was. I couldn/t find it here which frustrated me."Where am I?" "Meow," I froze when I heard that. I slowly turned my head to it. A maroon
Chapter 14: New Identity THE next moment that I opened my eyes, I saw an unfamiliar ceiling, it was white with a little scent of blue, and snowflakes were painted on there. It was a bit dull but still beautiful. Instead of getting up and starting my day. I closed my eyes again, "I wish this is just a dream, a nightmare. I'm tired of all of this." I kept passing out and the next time I open my eyes, I am a different kind already. I inhaled and filled my lungs with fresh air, I felt suffocated when nothing was in my nose. I hate it. I decided to sleep again, begging anyone to undo all those changes. "Meow," my right eye flew open when I heard that. Then a maroon cat with black and red eyes faced me. "Aunt Zinny," then she touched my face. "I am sick of these changes, one day I was a hunter, living very fine with an old man. But I woke up one night and find myself in wolf form. Then I saw my mate, but fate snatched him instantly from me. The next thing I know that I am
Chapter 78: Epilogue Anger could drive us to somewhere we never really wanted. You may regret it once you get there, but the mistake was part of my growth, what mattered was I managed to come back on track. Sulking in pain, anger, and confusion felt like hell. It felts like walking somewhere you did not know. It felts like being caged in a huge space where no matter how you run, you could find the end. Just darkness all over you. Escape could never put an end to a battle, it will only hunt you again and again. So, I chose to finally face it. The battle that was plotted for me. Standing now, looking at everyone around me. With witches and werewolves, among us, I am the only half-blooded. Being different is a blessing and a curse, and they were part of my Twisted Fate. “Mom!” Orion called me while running in my direction. He’s six now and Radian would be turning five. “They're here!” He said and held my hand. He pulled me to the field and saw the Alphas with their wives. It’s been
Chapter 77: The Beginning at The End“Rylan…baby,” I whispered and reached his face. Tears fell from his eyes, but he had no emotion. “Save me…” I begged and he pulled the knife out. He broke into tears when I fell on the ground to catch me. If this was my end, at least I knew he still love me. At the edge of my eyes, I saw Linda break the pendant of Venon’s necklace. “Zenith…” he was panicky when I bleed too much. Then my stomach started to grow. My son is hurt. We all heard its heartbeat. “Get away from her!” Lizo shouted and pulled me away. “No, he’s back, it’s okay.” I held Rylan tightly, I did not want to let him go. I might lose him again. My wound lightened up with blue light and soon it healed. My son saved me again. Then it returned to normal as if he was saying finish everything now.“Thank you, my little fighter.” The war has ended and pulled him into a tight hug. “I missed you so much.” “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I hurt you.” He was whispering again and again.
Chapter 76: Cold Memories I tried to do not to fight more unless it was needed. I need to conserve my power. I cannot let myself overuse my power. They probably suspect that I was pregnant, her words left me hanging. I was surprised. I need to choose my fight now. He sent a battalion of the army, but he hasn’t shown himself again. I’d know if he’s already dead. His memory will flash in my head. I would see what was in his heart that he had been keeping. Everyone that tries to attack me would be taken care of by my beta. She hasn’t left my side. I knew they were worried and I should not worry them more. But at the edge of my eyes, I saw the black-capped man staring straight at me. I ran to him and attacked him using my claw. If he was a werewolf, he should shift but I never saw him shift. “Who are you?” I asked him. “Why was he calling you Rylan?” I asked and kept attacking him. “HOW DARE YOU USE HIS NAME!” I shifted and attacked him furiously. He was too fast to avoid all my
Chapter 75: The War Day OneEveryone was out there preparing for the war. I was looking at my pack, would this pack survive? Our women, children, and oldies were on their way to Alpha Gado’s pack. The army of witches has arrived. “I want to ask you something, Miradel. How will I know that I am about to give birth?” “Few days before you give birth, your scent will start to change, its presence will surface sometimes but it will hide again. They might hear its heartbeat sometimes and it would be gone in a minute.” She answered. I do not have time to delay. I nodded in response. When I got to the ground, everyone was there. Linda came to me with her fierce face. “Do not kill him, please. Promise me. Alpha, promise me, you will let him live.” I nodded to assure her. But truly, I could not promise that. If he would try to harm me, I would be left with no choice but to end him. “They’re coming, hide,” I said and they all ran into the woods. They’d attack our pack, but no one wa
Chapter 74: My Reckless ActionAt night I stealthily left our pack and vowed to be back before sunset. My destination was something they’d never expected. I did everything I could to sneak into his pack. Until I got into her laboratory. “What are you doing?” I suddenly heard Dion’s voice, so I placed my ears against the wall. Their faint conversation pulled my interest. “Making you stronger.” It was Venon. “What is that?” “Power. Don’t ask anymore. Just do as I say, you’ll win this war. Move now before they could fully prepare for the war. Strike while her army hasn’t been fully cooked.” Good. Move now, Dion. I don’t care. I turned to hide but someone covered my mouth and pulled me into a room. I knew that scent. “What are you doing in here?” He whispered while trying to make sure no one was around and no one could hear us. “Spying.”“Recklessly? You should have sent spies.” Alpha Titus said. “I haven’t received anything from them yet, so I went to investigate myself.
Chapter 73: Fatal Situation“What!” “You are maybe pregnant.” She repeated. “That’s impossible, I should feel that if I am pregnant, and it’s been months since that day. My stomach should grow bigger by now, and especially, I should hear its heartbeat.” I said I was confident when I said that. She did not know the whole story. It has been months and I lost count of when I was last with him. The last full moon, I guess. “I am not messing around, you cannot be that powerful for you are half-blooded even if you are Minerva’s descendant or an ancient healer white werewolf. That power would only be possible if it was the combination of the power of two witches or wizards.” I shook my head. She was talking nonsense. How could that be possible when I have a flat stomach? “No,”“You and your child’s power.” She said and I was on the verge of shifting. “Hear me out, I will not say something like this for nothing. I have seen that kind of power before in your grandmother when she was
Chapter 72: Early BetrayalI crossed my arms while watching him leave, he just added pressure to my fist; he just added more reason to bring them down. ‘I will never bring him down.’ “I don’t like him.” Lizo suddenly spoke behind me. “Asked him if he liked you first,” I spoke.“That’s harsh,” “I was never soft, Lizo, don’t mock me.” I started feeling nauseous, so I walked back to my office to rest. While Lizo was tailing me. “What do you want?” “You don’t look fine.” He said I was not feeling right truly. “Those Alphas stressed me out, they’re chaotic,” I said and closed my eyes then leaned on my chair. “They weren’t really trying to piss you off, they were just pointing out obvious things but you looked stressed about it.” My head cringed when I heard that. “Are you saying I was overreacting?” “No! Of course not, I just find it odd since you don’t usually show your mad, you would throw sarcastic remarks like nothing, you were unbothered usually…”“And your point
Chapter 71: The Explosion “Should I lie that I did not know you knew?” I mean nothing, it just slipped from my tongue. That was too harsh, I think. Socializing wasn’t really my thing, that was why I need Linda.“My Alpha meant; she knew you know.” Linda was trying to lessen my mistake. “I apologize for that, but Venon grew up with humans and got here when she first shifted. She was a late bloomer she only shifted when she met her mate, Dion’s brother.” I answered. “Is that all you knew?” He asked and I nodded. “Unfortunately, yes,” I answered. “You can’t fool me; you seem don’t drop all your cards at once.” He said and crossed his arms. “They had been kidnapping humans for experiments, she was trying to implant an inner wolf in a human.” He said which did not surprise me yet pulled my interest and confusion clouded into my head. “Inner wolf is somewhat our second soul; no human machine can do that,” I spoke. “That was when witches take part.” He said, as expected from
Chapter 70: Untamed AlliesMy head was hurting badly when I was listening to their report back then, I was very pleased, and those Alphas sounded good. What a disappointment when I met them. “You must have plotted your revenge meticulously.” An Alpha my age said while sitting informally. “Yeah, you should’ve planned this flawlessly since you already call us. When-““I doubt she already has. Judging her pack, it was barely stable, she should have fixed her pack before that in my opinion.” Another Alpha spoke. I did not foresee that gathering Alphas in my pack would be this chaotic. They may be sat peacefully but they kept throwing sharp remarks at me. I secretly massage my head. “Are you sure you should move now? As I could see your army hasn’t gotten any muscle.” I saw how my Deltas react to that, but they choose to let me handle it. And it was followed with countless support and even added worse comments. “I’d appreciate it if you’d shut your mouth.” They all shut their m
