Prologue

Gahala Milan is my name and I always love to be surrounded by green and nature. I love the smell of flowers as I love the voice of birds. I considered the forest as my home and the animals there are my siblings. 

I love to discover new things at the place where I am. I always played with the fishes on the rivers like a kid. But now my mind was clouded by what ifs. I just wanted to feel what is it like to be normal. How does it feel to be real? 

"Gahala!" 

I was being back to reality when I heard katana shouted me. She was standing below where I am currently at. 

I looked at her and waved my hand making her aware that I heard her. 

" get down here!" 

I give her a thumbs up before I manage myself to get down from the top of a falls where she found me. I am sitting there for almost two hours and I am being entertained by the noise of the water beside me. 

Everyone that knows me can easily find me when I disappear. When I am not in the river then I am on top of the falls. I may like Pocahontas but far different from her. She lives in a fairytale while I live in an extraordinary world. 

"What is it Katana?" 

"Nihung would like to talk to you." She said and I automatically looked at her.

"She already know." She answered as if reading what's in my mind. 

"No way!" I unconciously uttered as fear enveloped me. 

"Yes way." She sarcastically said to me.

"What shoud I do?" I asked her trying to calm myself. 

"Do the right thing that you should have done a long time ago" she stop walking and faced me. 

"I-I can't" I said and fear consumed me as I think what will possibly happened if I chose to stay. 

"Then let him die." 

As she uttered those words, I instantly felt weak. 

"Katana" I helplessly called out her name.

"Gahala, I know you're a brave girl and I trust on you" she muttered like encouraging me to do the right thing. 

I can't lose him. Not now, when I know I deeply inlove with him but how? How can I stay when the situation pushes me away? How should I stay when I know if I choose to be selfish he will surely be dead. 

I forced to calm my trembling nerves and smiled a little to katana. 

"You can do this Gahala." She patted me on my shoulder before letting me go inside. 

I entered at Nihung' home. Nihung was like our mother in this world and she calls the attention of someone who don't follow the rules and did a mistake. 

"Korodi Nihung" I bend down sign of giving respect. Korodi was a hello/good day in our own dialect.

"Dusama rita Gahala" she acknowledge me although her eyes are still closed.

"Forgive me Nihung" as soon as I uttered those words, my tears began to flow. 

"What have you done for me to forgive you" she calmly said. 

"I did a forbidden thing, I disobeyed the rule that we had." I sobbed as I confessed. 

"Hmmm" was she only said and I got confused of what she responded. 

We went silent and the atmosphere began to make me feel uncomfortable.

"Does he knows what truly you are?" She asked that made me blink a couple of times

"Y-Yes Nihung" I nervously answered

"And you know who he really is." 

"Yes I am" I honestly said and my nerves started to tremble again. 

"Do you know what will happen to him if you still choose him?" She asked in a relaxed tone and her eyes are still closed that made me feel really nervous. 

"N-Nihung" I said as fresh tears began to flow in my cheeks. 

"Gahala, you are my beloved and everyone here treasures you. Now, what will you do?" She asked and then open her eyes. 

"N-Nihung" 

"I am expecting that you will do the right thing." She said then closed her eyes once again as a sign of dismissed. 

I went out of her home and I instantly saw Katana who patiently waiting me outside. 

"I know you will do the right thing Gahala." She said and hugged me tight. 

"K-Katana" I wiped my tears but it didn't stop from flowing. 

"Just believe and the nature will guide you." She blows and I felt the cold wind embrace me. It was her way of comforting me when I felt confuse and hurt. 

"Thank you" was I only uttered before I started to walk where we meet everytime there was a chance. 

"STOP right there!" I pointed my finger to him. 

"Gahala." He tried to reach for my hand but I immediately step back. 

"Stop calling my name. Stop bothering me. Leave me alone." I hardly said to him.

"I love you" he uttered in pain.

"Love is not enough in our situation. We are forbidden, we will never be like others out there." I said and pain strung in my heart like my words are poison. 

"You must believe that nothing is impossible Gahala."

"Stop with your bullshits Wulan. If we will stay like this, we will both regret this. So go away!!" I shouted right in front of him and I saw how pain was visible in his eyes. He looked down and sighed before looked at me in the eyes. 

"I will go away as you wish milady" He seriously said and turned his back on me. 

I wiped the lone tear that escaped in my eyes as I keep looking at his back running away from me. 

"I don't want to see you in pain but I need to do it. I love you but loving you can be the cause of death of one of us. I'm sorry Wulan." I sobbed then I hear the howling sound that I will forever treasure.

Awoooooooooo!!!
