Celia had been through a lot in a single afternoon. As such, she wanted nothing more than to confide in her best friend, but this would mean disclosing Julian’s medical condition, which was something she needed to keep a secret.

"Julian Hayes, huh... Just as the rumors put it, he’s really not all that great,” Celia answered.

Though Celia did not intend to lie, she felt that it was the best course of action, as further dragging out this topic would likely result in a slip-up on her end, and the consequences would likely implicate Zoe too.

"Did he bully you?" Zoe asked in concern.

Celia thought of Julian's boldness in the rest area, feeling a dull ache in her heart. However, she swallowed it down and shook her head. "Everything’s okay."

Zoe could tell she was putting on a brave face and guessed she had been mistreated. She felt guilty but also relieved that she was not the one who had married Julian.
