Chapter 7

“Sir, what color will you be wearing today? The white or the brown tan colored suit?” William asked as he held up both suit in the air.

Lara shifted her gaze over to William briefly and chose to wear the White suit. She returned her attention to her phone and was about dialing her number before a call came.

The number wasn’t saved in the phone’s contact so she carefully looked at the digits on the screen before she realized that it was Kate’s number. She and Kate had been best friend for almost a decade so she had over time memorized her best friend’s phone number.

She swiped the screen immediately and connected the call.

“Kate!” she said happily immediately the call connected.

“Hey, it’s me” the familiar voice floated into her ears. It’s was a little bit strange hearing her own voice from outside her body.

“I want you to reinstate all the workers that I fired in the Editorial team in my company; I made a mistake and I would like to correct it” Liam said from the other end, after noticing that she had gone quiet.

“And why don’t you come correct, how can I even correct it, I don’t own the company?”

“But my body does, and you are in control of it now. Nobody knows we switched sides” Liam added.

“I don’t know; besides, I was about to call you to tell you that some investors came. You are to sign a deal with them”

“Oh goodness, I forgot about that. Please sign the deal too, it’s really important”

“Sign it? I don’t even know your signature...“ Lara lamented, pinching her brows.

“Kate was among the people I fired, if you don’t reinstate them, your best friend won’t have a job. Sign that contract because failure to do so means you’ve ruined me. and I will also ruin you too” Liam warned and the line went dead.

“What, this jerk. Who does he think he is, bossing me around? How does he think he’ll ruin me?” Lara scoffed and turned around to see William standing quietly behind her with the suit already laying neatly on the bed.

“Who wants to ruin you sir? Should we send in our team to bring him in for threatening you?” William asked as he walked over to help him undress.

“A team, no need for that” Lara replied. although she wanted to send the team over and whip that jerks ass, but it’s her body’s ass, so, no need for that.

“Allow me, I can dress myself up”

“Okay sir” William said with a bow and stepped backwards.

Lara pulled off her shirt and started dressing herself up.

The phone Lara had dropped on the bed rang and William walked over and picked it up while the young master kept dressing himself up. He answered the call and placed the phone on his ear.

“Okay, good afternoon ma”

“Okay; I’ll let him know”

“He has a meeting in 5, so maybe after that if his schedule is free” William said and hung up before placing the phone safely in his pocket.

“I’m done dressing!” Lara announced with a victorious grin on her face as she turned and faced Williams with outstretched arm.

William walked over and arranged the tie properly and straightened the sleeves.

“Who was that on the phone earlier?” Lara asked.

“Your sister!” William replied as he fixed the belt.

He has a sister? Lara thought. How come no one ever said anything about her.

“She wants to see you. And I suggest you go, so she doesn’t come dragging you like the last time” William suggested.

"It's time to go sir”

Lara nodded and followed William nervously. What was she gonna do or say when she gets to meet the investors?

They made their way upstairs, probably into Liam study or something because there was a bunch of books, stacked in shelves. The whole place was brown to match the wood work.

The men stood up to their feet immediately William walked in with the young master. They walked up and shook hands with nervous Lara.

She took her seat, while the main sat in front of her, a folder was placed in front of them. She scanned their faces. They looked like wealthy men who had not witnessed hardship for once in their various lives. Their hair was white, their skin clear although wrinkled but they still looked younger than their age.

“Sir, we have decided that we would continue the deal of you would let us own at least 7 percent shares of the company” The man on her right stated breaking the silence.

“Sir besides, this is you robbing us off. Our company is worth more than 17 billion dollars, including all the houses, estates we own in various location” The one on her left added.

The amount 17 billion kept echoing in her head causing her to swallow hard. She didn’t even know what they were talking about. She was just an advertiser and a soon to be actress, she doesn’t know a dime about running a company, she thought and stared blanky at the men.

She was probably silent for a long time, oblivious to her surrounding and lost to her thoughts until William slight nudged her shoulder. She returned back to reality and took a deep breath and lowered her gaze to the folder on the table.

“Shelter Corp” She saw the name of the popular real Estate company that illegally chased them out of their previous apartment.

She looked up to them, an evil grin etched on her face; maybe Karma is a bitch, but it surely does pay and right now is payback for making them spend two nights on the street.

“You said I’m robbing you off?” She asked coldly.

“Sir, it’s just that the company is…”

“I didn’t ask for any further explanation” Lara said loudly slamming her hands on the table.

“How much did I say I wanted to buy the company?”

“17 billion sir” The man on her right replied.

“Well, the price has changed. It is 10 billion leave or take” Lara stated firmly,

“What! Sir!” the men murmured loudly.

“It’s just takes only a phone call to my trained agents to uncover all your illegal dealing, the building your purchased illegally and the judges you bribed to get them, the landlords you paid off to chase the occupants of the house and even more gruesome things I rather not mention. And not only would you lose your company to me, but I’ll make sure you spend your remaining years on earth serving a jail sentence” Lara said boldly. The men were quiet and threw glances at each other, she knew she had gotten them right in the balls.

“William, send the agents. We need to pull these men down” Lara instructed and immediately William pulled out his phone.

“Sir, please, we will sell it for 10 billion, please don’t leak our information to the cops” The men pleaded.

“For making me waste my strength in explaining thing to you, it’s 5 billion and no shares. The company becomes mine and mine alone” Lara added but got no reply from the men, she immediately rose up to her feet and the men agreed immediately.

William passed the document over to them and they signed it and left.

“That went well” she said with a smile on her face.

“William, the remaining money from what I just bargained with these men Is how much?” Lara asked

“8 billion dollars sir” Williams replied.

“Get me a pen and paper” she requested. William pulled out a pen from his coat and handed it over to the young master alongside a jotter.

Lara scribbled down her account number and handed it to Williams; “Transfer that 8 billion into this account now” she instructed and William nodded.

Lets just say she earned it, she thought to herself with a smile. If all these were to end tonight, she would have 8 billion dollars and she and Kate would move to Paris like they always dreamed of.

“I want to reinstate all the workers that I fired in the editorial department” Lara said to William.

“Which means we would to go over to the company sir, you also need to give the Legal them these documents” William stated;

Lara sighed and relaxed her back on the chair; “Do I have to?” she pouted her lips.

“Yes sir” William replied.

She stood up and they walked out of the house and towards the garage where the cars were parked.

“Have you sent the money?” Lara asked again, just to be sure William had not forgotten.

“Yes sir” William replied and she smiled and got into the electric Tesla that was right outside for her.

The car was amazing, she admired the interior design and didn’t even bother asking the price because she knew I would be fucking expensive. Everything about the car reeked of luxury.

The car taxied off the villa in a convoy of other exotic cars. It was a 30 minutes’ drive to the company. She recalled the last time she was here. That was the day she bumped into this jerk who spilled hot coffee on her and made her nose bleed.

She also remembered the man who interviewed her, how he acted like he owns the company.

The door was opened by one of the guards and she stepped out. she felt the gazes of everyone around her piercing her skin. They were all staring at her, or rather they were all staring at him. She hadn’t taken her time to look in the mirror and take a good look at how handsome the body she possessed was. a beacon of handsomeness. He wore only the latest and rare designers. The most eligible, rich, handsome bachelor in New York. The guards surrounded her blocking off the views of some people as they walked towards the company, they opened the door and she walked in, almost immediately his PA ran over to him with a cup of hot coffee in her hand.

“Welcome sir, here is your usual cup of coffee” Lilly said and handed the coffee over.

Lara nodded and took the cup and sipped it content. As soon as the coffee came in contact with her taste buds, sending it flavored taste rippling down her throat. She paused and stared at the cup, is this really coffee.

“What’s this?” She asked her PA.

“Sir, it’s your favorite coffee. Don’t you like it? I’m sorry sir” Lilly replied with her head bowed.

“I love it, this doesn’t taste like the coffee you get down town from Larry’s Caffe” She muttered and resumed in her trail. The wealthy enjoy all the best stuff, even their coffee is different from what the normal taste like. She was careful not to gulp all it content as she wanted to savor its taste.

“Sir, because of the incident. All your meetings have been moved so as to give to enough time to recuperate” Lilly stated as she walked beside him, flipping through the folder in her hand.

“What’s your name?” Lara asked.

“Lilly” she replied.

“Who is in charge of employing new staffs?”

“Mr. Burton, Sir” Lilly replied

“Send him to my office”

Lilly nodded and walked away to go get burton. She followed William into the elevator, the arrived at the floor. Liam’s office and his PA’s office were the only office on the top floor and it was heavily guarded.

She walked into her office; the guards remained outside.

“Wow” Lara gasped at the beautiful view from up here. The whole place was made of glass and you could even see all of New York from up here.

The door open and Lily walked in with Burton.

“Hello Sir” the familiar voice floated in her ears and she turned.

“Burton!” Lara called and chuckled;

“Who owns this company?” Lara asked.

“You sir” Burton replied with a smile.

“Good. Your fired!”

The smile on Burton’s face disappeared and a sad and shocked look crept in.

“William, drag this jerk outta here and help him clear his desk” Lara ordered and sat on her desk.

William dragged Burton who was still pleading out.

Immediately they left Lilly walked over to were Lara sat and placed the folder on the table.

“I have missed you baby” Lilly said and cat walked over.

Lara watched in surprise, how could a girl who behaved all professional turn romantic at her boss in the next second.

She bent low and locked her lips into Lara’s.
