SHERIFF

{Tuesday, 3 days to the blood moon}

I woke up to the sound of a loud banging on my front door. I felt that Mr. Gordon was the person knocking, so I tried to keep my eyes shut and ignore the sound. But the knocking continued. So, I had to drag myself down the stairs and open the door. It surprised me to see Jasmine smiling with two cups of coffee in her hands.

“Good morning, sheriff,” she said. “I figured you'd still be asleep, so I brought you coffee.”

“Oh, Jasmine, this is all sweet,” I said. “But you don't have to worry about me.”

“What am I supposed to do, then?” she asked. “You don't want me to go to school. You don't want me to go to Abby’s house, you don't want Abby to see me. I'm not exactly occupied right now.”
