I immediately recognised the dagger in Gabe as one of the thirteen I created many, many years ago. He has no idea how fortunate he is that I was there to remove it. Nuntius blades are connected to their creator and whomever they wish to receive the message inside and only they can remove it from a body. It sounds barbaric now but back when the witch hunts were at their peak they became a life line for so many of us.

The way a Nuntius blade works is simple but effective. Not every witch has the necessary powers to create such an intricate and complex tool and as far as I’m aware there were only a handful of us, from the most powerful covens, who successfully used them.

How one of my blades ended up in the hands of the Kutkatasina is beyond me, but what troubles me more is that the witches who used it were capable of manipulating my magic and moulding the dagger into something else entirely.
