Azek’s POV“Security !, get the paramedics up here now” I screamed at the top of my voice. Seeing the one I cared so much about fall to her doom right before I was a traumatic sight I could never forget in a million years. My adrenaline eels shot through the roof, the burst of energy I had was from the shock of the dread incident that just happened. Security stormed my office in a few minutes, I watched as the love of my life, the one who I longed to be with was carried into the company’s ambulance. “Get her to the best hospital in town” I exclaimed. I rushed to my car and followed the ambulance closely. Maybe I shouldn’t have let all that information all at once. But she deserved to know she had been through a lot. Perhaps I should have spread the facts over some time. I regretted my actions even more. I thought I was getting close to making it work between us, only to make things work. Now, she would never forgive me for what I did if she got any permanent injury from this. I
Mia’s POV All I could see was black. I felt like I was drowning in myself. it tried shouting for help. I tried moving my arms. My body was failing. My mind shutting down. My brain couldn't process the stream of information. All that Azek said was a heavy load in my mind now. Nevertheless, I needed to know the truth behind my past but maybe I need space between each piece of information. I felt a series of gentle squeeze. Someone was holding my hand and crying by my side. “don't go Mia” “We love you” “We need you” The voice echoed in cries beckoning me to wake up. It was Azek crying by my side. He blamed himself for all the trauma I had been through. I could finally move my hand. I squeezed his hand with the little strength I could gather. I felt as weak as a leaf. “it's not your fault” I said but the words didn't come out completely or audible enough. I tried opening my eyes, they were too heavy for me to open. I couldn't move but my hearing was f
Azek’s POV I have been in the room for some minutes now and I just couldn’t admire Mia enough. She looked so peaceful in her sleep. I held onto her hands, stroking her hand with love and care. “We have smart little boys, they are acing their studies and topping the class. Am happy! My company finally has an in the hands of the boys” I said to her while I watched her sleep. “a time would come when I would have to choose who would take over from me. Maybe I might just put them both as CEO they would make a great team if they work together.” I continued in my excitement. “I just picked them up from school,” I said to her sleeping. I knew somehow that she could hear me even though she was asleep. While I was talking, she opened her eyes, and we smiled at each other. I could see love, care, and happiness in her eyes all at once. “Am sorry, I should let you rest some more” I said smiling. She just smiled back and said softly” Where are the boys?” “I left them with the house
Mia's POV“Hey momma, how are you feeling this morning," Azek woke me up with a soft voice and a gentle squeeze.I opened my eyes to a big bright smile. Azek was beaming with so much joy and happiness. “I got breakfast ready for you, my dear. I didn't know what you would like this morning, so I got the entire menu for you to make your choice” Azek explained, gesturing me to look at the table.I threw a glance at the table in front of me, and nothing could ever prepare me for what I saw next. The table was full of dishes and snacks of all sorts. From fried chicken to hot piping broth soup, chocolate bars, steak, muffins, and cake, Azek has a whole banquet for me. Considering am a cook, he suspected I might get picky, so he got the entire menu.“Wow that is a lot of food, I'm confused and don't know what to pick,” I exclaimed with joy and excitement. “Thanks a lot, Azek, Am blown away by your kind gesture. You just made my morning” I complemented his efforts to make me comfortable.
Azek's POV I had to call someone to prepare the boys because I wouldn't get to the house on time and if I did, they would go late. I picked up my phone and dialed Jessica's phone number. It rang for a while and she picked up. “Good morning Sir, how can I be of help,” she said with a bright happy tone in her voice. “Jessica, I need you to prepare the boys for school. I'm currently on my way to the office. I have some things to attend to”. I requested. My drive to the office was a bit longer than I expected. Maybe the anticipation and anxiety to get there as fast as possible lengthened it, I wasn't quite sure. Eventually, after a long drive, I got to the office. I bolted up the stairs, and a lot of my employees were surprised to see me sprint up to my office. I needed to attend to some VIP client I had waiting for me in the conference boardroom. My family needed me, so I delayed the meeting I had with the clients for some time. I couldn't delay it any further. I got to the boar
Azek's POV “She had a camera in that room,” I said to myself. I felt like I was suffocating. The love story I was trying to write with Mia was about to be erased all over again. She didn't tell me who she was until the next morning when she told me her name was Chloe. The alcohol was gone at that time, and I was in my clear senses. I realized I just cheated on Mia with her twin sister. Chloe told me a lot about Mia and her past. She even told me how their mother preferred Chloe to Mia as a more promising child.I tried shaking off all the thoughts flooding my mind. Chloe had indeed clouded my mind with stupid thoughts. I would try my best to secure my marriage this time. I wasn't going to allow anything or anybody to destroy the love me and Mia had for each other. She had finally given in to love me, genuinely putting our past behind us. If she found out that I slept with her sister would break her, and it would be rough for her. I swore to protect her from any trauma. She wo
Azek's POV My toast was a heart-warming one. Every heart was touched in the room including mine. Mia looked happy with all I said. Her smiles were all I wanted to see. Her beauty illuminated our future, her strong soul held us together in love as family. Mia's presence made us connected as a family. I left the room after the nurse informed me that my presence was needed by the doctor. I walked down the hallway thinking about what the doctor had to say. Please let it be good news I said to myself. I didn't want any more bad news. My life has started making sense. I got to the doctor's office and knocked. “Come in” the doctor yelled from inside the office. “Good day doctor, you requested my presence,” I said while I entered the office. “Yes Azek, from our test results and close monitoring, I think Mia is good to go home now. Besides, many people have missed her. So we are letting her go” the doctor said with a massive smile. I was pleased to hear that my angel is well. “So
Azek's POVSeeing Reed hug Mia that way was very uncomfortable to watch. Was I overthinking it? Was there anything going on between them?Mia is mine, He should know his boundaries. Read had a crush on Mia in high school, I remember. They broke their hug and Reed stared at Mia as she made her way to sit close to me.“Reed, how's life” I said in a strong tone trying to move his attention away from Mia.He shook his head and turned his gaze to me.Yes, he was lost looking at Mia. And he hugged her, that was on purpose.“Uhm, Azek, you were saying ?” Reed said anxiously. It was obvious that he wasn't paying attention.“He was asking how you're fairing” Mia repeated my question to him.He still looked absent-minded. He finally said something, “All is going well, business is good. I'm just a bit lonely sometimes".Ok, that was sad. A Mature man like Reed needs a companion, But Mia is off-limits.“That's sad, you should put yourself out there though, you could get lucky,” I said with s bit
