107. Embracing Love's Resilience

Michael's pov -

As we are laying together, my arms wrapped protectively around Abigail, the events of the day still weigh heavily on my mind. I can't help but feel afraid for her safety, even though we are now back in the safety of our room. The thought of what could have happened terrifies me, and I can't shake off the lingering fear.

"Abby," I finally found the courage to speak, my voice still filled with worry. "Can you tell me what happened? How did you end up in that situation?"

She takes a deep breath and begins to recount the events of the morning. As she speaks, I close my eyes, trying to picture the scene she describes.

"In the morning, I woke up, and you were sleeping so deeply," Abigail begins. "I didn't want to disturb you, so I thought of asking room service to bring breakfast to our room. But when I tried to use the intercom, it wasn't working."
