"JUST THROW THE PIE." Lenn yelled at the waiter.
In this whole yes and no game panic-stricken waiter didn't truly realize that Lenn was just being playful towards Ada and was not serious about it.
At the sudden reverberating voice of Lenn, the waiter threw the apple pie on Lenn's face instead of his shirt.
Everything seemed very quiet for a brief moment. People watched them with their widened eyes.
Soon the silence got replaced by Ada's laugh. Everyone joined her as they weren't expecting the poor waiter to smash the pie on Lenn’s face.
Lenn's face had lost all the expression. He was completely blank as he hadn't expected anything like this to happen.
He turned to the waiter and stared coldly at the waiter. The intense eyes and furious face of Lenn's made the waiter shiver.
He was about to burst his anger on the waiter, he heard Ada's laugh. He turned to look at her laughing face which melted all his anger. Soon the anger evaporated and the atmosphere lightened.
He said playfully to the waiter, "I think I really should complain about you."
The waiter became more anxious as Lenn frightened him. He looked at Ada for help.
"No. He won’t do. Relax. He's just kidding around with you." Ada consoled the poor, frightened waiter.
This made the waiter feel very light as if some huge stone was moved from his head. He smiled nervously and apologized to Lenn. He took another order from the couple and went back to do his work. Everyone around them settled in their place.
"Your face and shirt both are immersed in apple pie." Ada giggled.
She leaned forward to wipe his face with the tissue kept on the table.
"Let me immerse you too." Lenn pulled her close with his hand around her neck and kissed her.
All the surroundings became blurred and moved in a spiral manner. The four figures, Leo, Adi, Alex, and Vivi now were transported to another location, in front of a house.
Alex was still laughing loud at Leo remembering the pie on his face. Vivi glared at him and elbowed, implying him to stop while suppressing her own laugh which made Alex lose his control.
Leo turned back and glared at Alex. Vivi smiled remembering the scene. She felt it was a sweet memory and should be cherished. She sent a reassuring smile at Adi who was feeling shy.
"So now, where are we? Hey...isn't this your place Leo?" Alex asked trying to change the topic as Leo glared at him.
"Yes" Leo said, looking ahead at the house.
Looking from outside, the house seemed very ancient. The walls had become greenish and dark on the upper side due to the creepers and climbers. The iron fence that surrounded the house was rusted.
Four of them were standing side by side now watching ahead. Two men penetrated through them from behind and went towards the gate.
The four figures saw them opening the front door of the house and entering inside, closing the door behind. They gave each other a nod and decided to follow the men.
Entering the house, they saw two men standing opposite to each other discussing something important.
One of the men resembled Leo implying that was his past self. Other man was a short, fat man with a huge moustache, head balding and wore a black formal suit with black shoes.
He was holding a long black umbrella and a black suitcase and who he was, was yet to be revealed.
"So this is the house you were talking about?" the man resembling Leo inquired.
His voice echoed in the empty, huge house.
"Yes sir, Lenn. This is the very house. The oldest house that was built and whose origin is still a mystery. After the monarch was destroyed, the head of the new state decided to sell it off. And I got the opportunity to serve them the purpose. If you are interested then let me know and help you, sir." informed the man humbly.
"I see. What is so special about this house besides being ancient? I mean, if I am investing here then I should have a significant reason to do so." Lenn enquired.
"Yes sure, sir. This place, as you see, has not been accommodated by anyone in the past as the monarch believed in the treasure being hidden, somewhere in the house.
He personally used to come here and invigilate while the workers search for it. But the monarch was overthrown before he could find anything.
Besides, I personally feel that the location of this place is very profitable in the future when the state decides for development. It would increase the price of the place as it lies in the heart of the state." reckoned the man.
"Considering future benefits, it is a good deal to take. Anyways I don’t believe in the treasure thing. I’ll renovate the whole place accordingly and live here with my fiance Ada." Lenn said.
"So, shall we complete the deal sir?" the man proposed.
Lenn nodded as a reply.
The man opened his metal suitcase. Took out some parchments, handed it to Lenn. He then opened a tiny bottle of black ink and handed a quill to him.
"The special peacock quills used for official works." Lenn commented looking at the quill.
"Yes sir. Non-volatile as no spell affects the documents." The man added.
Lenn took the quill from the man and dipped it in the bottle to sign on the parchments. The man took the signed parchments back from him and put everything inside the suitcase.
"The final embossed parchment will be delivered to you shortly sir. For any queries, you can call me sir. I’ll take your leave now." with that the man gave a bow and went out.
Lenn stood alone there for a while. He started inspecting the house.
"Why are we seeing this memory?" Alex blurted.
Leo turned to look at him.
"I mean. Is there something important here we should be aware of?" Alex asked.
"Maybe we should follow Lenn and see what he does." Adi suggested.
"Maybe." Leo agreed and they all followed Lenn.
"So the man was some kind of estate agent." Alex said in general.
"Seems so." Vivian agreed.
"You seem rich in past lives too Leo." Alex smirked.
"Good deeds." Leo replied.
"We are seeing these memories maybe because the person wants us to believe that it's true and Ada and Lenn are really you boths past selves." Vivian commented.
"Possible. We still don't know what's all these about." Adi replied.
They saw Lenn struggling hard to open a door. He closed his eyes and cast a few spells to open but nothing happened.
After a few more trials he gave up and moved to check other rooms of the house. Soon after having seen around inside the house, Lenn decided to move out.
The four figures saw him strolling towards the main door. Soon the surroundings started appearing blurry.
Everything started moving spirally. The four figures understood it was time for the next fragment of the memory.
They all curiously waited for their next location hoping to get some clue about the said threat in the diary and what exactly it was about.
The four figures stood outside the same place they visited in previous memory. Only difference being the house which was now renovated. "Again in front of your past self's house, Leo. What was his name?" Alex said, trying to remember the name. "Lenn" Leo replied as he walked towards the door to enter the house. "The surroundings look different." Vivi commented, looking around the place. "Indeed. The place seemed developed." Adi added. As they entered, they expected to see their past selves, but the house was deadly silent. "Why are we here when there's no one around?" Alex asked. Knowing the impatie
30 days later... In the castle, one of the most faithful knights of the lord came running towards the lord. The Dark Lord sat on his throne with a grave look. Thirty days had passed and there was no news about the couple. He had searched all the places, put a huge bounty on them, threatened people to get the information and even set a whole village on fire to set it as an example for those who supported the couple. But in the end there was no information about them. He was mad at each and every servant around him. He heard footsteps approaching him. Without looking at the person, he said angrily,"If you came here with unpleasant news, disappointing me again then be
Surroundings blurred again. Portal took them back to the year 1750. They tried to acknowledge everything they saw in the previous memory. The memory had blurred their minds. They regretted each second they thought about it. Ominous silence surrounded them. "What does the prophecy imply?" They heard Ana asking Levi, breaking the ominous silence. While returning from the past they had seen a pitch black screen ahead of them. Some bright, silvery words appeared on it. It was the prophecy which Ada had put in the ring when the cruel Dark Lord burned the house along with her, alive. "Is it really pointing us as a couple? I don't see anything specific mentioned about us." Ana asked him as a doubt occurred in her mi
Ana and Levi stood nervously, looking at the hourglass kept on the table. Past few hours had passed in understanding the operation of the hourglass. "I hope this works." Levi muttered. "We don't have any other option." Ana stated. Levi sighed and nodded to her. He took the hourglass and closed his eyes. "Are they going back in the year 1475?" Adi asked. "I hope their plan works." Leo said, nodding to Adi. "Let's see what happens." Alex said, waiting for the couple to do something. They looked at the couple, concerned about their plan. Something felt wrong about it. But nevertheless, as Levi said, it was b
Basement was chilly or the memory made them feel cold, was yet to be known. Leo looked at his hand and saw goosebumps raised. The scene was still in front of his eyes. He stepped ahead and turned to look behind as someone caught his arm. It was Adi. He looked at her petrified face. It was pale as if blood drained from her body. "Adi?" Leo called her name, shaking her shoulders. Adi snapped back to present and lost her balance falling in Leo's arm and burst out. Vivian came forward, trying to console her.Leo lifted her and took her to their room and rubbed her back as she cried in his arms. The memory was traumatic. It took hours for them to get back to their senses and think sanely. In another memory, the portal took them to a different memory as soon as the house of Ada and Lenn was set on fire. They couldn't witness what Ada went through, but still were disturbed. Two hours had passed and the impac
"So-called Dark Lord is the one who wants to unleash the supreme powers and according to him you are the pure soul who are the key to the lock. And you are the one who can defeat him." Alex began the discussion by explaining the meaning of prophecy according to him. After having lunch, they felt exhausted therefore decided to get some rest, only to be woken up by Miss Emily for the evening tea. The afternoon nap was essential as their mind diverted from the traumatic memory. They started the discussion where they had stopped last. "But he is so powerful, how are we going to defeat him? He has already killed both the couple gruesomely." Vivi said concerningly. "Technology, Vivi dear. It has made wonders in the weapon sector. We can use those against him. His entir
Two days passed and there wasn't any sign of magic in the air. They all memorized a few easy spells and took some different places in the study room, away from each other, to concentrate fully, with some tiny objects. Leo looked at the small pea kept on the table, annoyingly. Failing for the 1000th time, he decided in his mind that this was his last try. He closed his eyes and focused all his attention on the pea and whispered the transformation spell, "Mutatio." Grain shook vigorously and transformed into a small green leaf. He felt satisfied finally for wasting two precious days on practicing sorcery. In order to confirm, he turned back the leaf to pea and changed it again to leaf. He looked at his work proudly and called for others. "How did you do it?" Adi asked, looking at the feather
Warm breeze hit their face as they stepped outside. There weren't many houses around. The place was somewhat deserted. People around them were countable. They realized no one was suspicious about them as they strolled on the streets. "Looks like pills are working." Alex commented. "Of course they would." Leo said proudly. "Yeah yeah" Alex rolled his eyes. They came across a small village and stopped there. A long, stout stick on which a wooden board hung was buried at the entrance of the village. The board displayed the village name, Inkdon. They decided to take a look at the village. It was strange that in spite of having many houses, there weren't many people on the streets. And those who were out, were not
