When Molly heard how Lesley called Mr. Ballard, a trace of surprise flashed through Molly's eyes.

'I thought that Lesley was Mr. Ballard's granddaughter. It seemed that I was wrong.

Mr. Ballard recognized Lesley's voice on the phone and became excited. "Lesley, is it you?"
